Russo is a blithering idiot. This was the guy I posted 1.5 months ago who was saying the Bengals need to beat the Rams by eliminating the run and forcing Stafford to throw because Matthew cannot make 4th quarter comebacks.
Russo is better then that, problem is, his kryptonite is football. He was pro Rams all season, took them against the 49ers in the last game of the year & in the NFC Championship Game, but again, football is not his primary area of expertise as he's more well versed in baseball & college basketball for example. FWIW I love Russo because I was in Connecticut for a number of years and listened to Mike & the Mad Dog religiously.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD AFTERNOON EVERYBODY....HOW ARE YOU TODAY?

I'm glad you can find the benefit from listening to him. Unfortunately he's lost all credibility from me with his scatterbrained unresearched diatribe. It makes me wonder why he subjects himself to further criticism from a poorly formed opinion.

If he is uninformed or under informed on a topic, move on to another subject.

He and Francesca were both idiots, yet their show pioneered sports radio in the NY area.
Was fascinating really, 2 unlikable idiots talking sports and yet folks (myself included) couldn't wait to listen to them....

I think he lost to gabbert because of perception, not talent, but we'll probably never know.
Unfortunately, perception is changing what really happened in the past, because we really do know what happened.
Personally, I hated Kaep out of respect for his ability. If he played on a different team, I'd have liked him. That said, all the political stuff happened after he already was washing out of the league. He stunk on ice after Harbaugh left, and got benched for Gabbert while Tomsula was trying to save his job. Imagine that? Being so desperate to save your job that you look to Blaine Effing Gabbert to come to your rescue? Yikes... Then Chip Kelly came aboard and seemingly Kaep was going to be a perfect fit, however Gabbert out worked him and out played him in pre-season and won the job. And when given the chance to take the job away, Kaep sucked. And then the biggest piece of all happened, Kaepernick opted out of his contract when they brought in Shanahan.
Now after San Fran did politics play a role? Well, that's a different discussion, and not one for this place.

I am a life-time NYer, and was actually listening to the first Mike Francesa and Chris "Mad Dog Russo" show.

Quick Mad Dog Story. I heard it live when it happened; and it's been re-played.
Like many sports-media-types, Chris Russo has a favorite sport (that's fine). His is baseball (also fine). Mad Dog is a huge / life-long San Francisco Giants' fan.

One day in the 1990s (when I was still a young man), Russo and Francesa were discussing a baseball game and a key play where a batter was thrown-out at third base trying to stretch a double into a triple. Russo commented about the poor decision, costing the batter a hit. Francesa commented that it was a poor decision but the batter still got the hit ... a double. Russo replied ... but 'he was thrown-out at third'. Francesa again stated that the batter still got credit for a double.

Russo paused, then asked ... 'you mean a batter gets credit for a hit on that play?'
Francesa explained that ... 'of course he does' ... just like trying to stretch a a single into a double.
Russo was shocked. Said he neve knew that.

Think about THAT for a second or two. A life-time baseball fan! It's his favorite sport!! He's a major Sports-Media-Personality!!! And he does not know one of the most basic rules-of-the-game.

That's a true story. It's also the last time I ever listened to Chris "Mad-Dog" Russo.

And that's why they were great together because you can't know everything. I didn't know for example that you could punt the ball twice as long as it was behind the line of scrimmage and I realize it's a new rule and agreed this example of Russo was a basic rule, but over the years I'm amazed at what certain people don't know.

Remember Russo was born in 1959 in the early 90's was still young to the profession so there are certain things you're not going to know, but the key is, to admit it, learn from it and move on IMHO.

You are far more understanding and forgiving than me.

So the Chiefs went and picked the Packers' pocket while they both were looking into DK Metcalf...LOL

I hope the Seahawks refuse to trade DK. I'd love for Rodgers to have a WR crew this year that mimics our OL from the past... I think it was 2019... where we literally had guys introducing themselves on the field due to so many injuries. Not wanting anyone injured... just would love for Rodgers to be throwing to rookies and guys who were on PS and then went to sell insurance or work as a HS History teacher...

I’d like them to have a WR group that resembles the ones Fisher gave Bradford
