I always loved to watch Geno Atkins who was one of the best 3 tech DL'ers I ever saw until Aaron Donald arrived on the NFL scene to take it over. I feel bad in a small way that it's apparent that Atkin's time as a starting Interior DL is over. His 2013 ACL injury was the start of his trending downward but it was a slow trending.

In 2020 GA suffered throughout the entire season with an injury to his shoulder & he played very little. Now 33 yrs old I am not sure which fat salaried team will sign the now WWC, but I would think after all this time he is hoping to get a real chance to play in the SB game in LA before the curtain falls on him.

GA would make a great veteran back up to the soon to be 20 yr old AD as a part-time player. If healthy enough he could even allow AD to play more 5 tech DL post. I just not sure how much GA still has in him & how low he would go in his salary demands.

The Rams DL has a good amount of run stoppers & very few pass rushers after losing two veteran DL'er in Free Agency. I am hoping that the young DE's Eric Banks & Jonah Williams can bring a pass rush.

Help me here R U desiring a WR @ the top of the Ram draft????

HECK YES — I want The BEST early
Only if there is Value ?

A DE/OLB is another position I want.A 3/4 type. Fox is gone & played DT.
In honor of Kevin Greene. Chris Long with The Pats . I know I’m describing white guys. Jason Taylor was a tweener type of DE.
Those might not be good examples & unlike you I think Lewis might be that guy that can hold the edge & play OLB or DE ? He might be faster than all those guys except Taylor. I like that speed guy though that can change it up. Hard to find, but I’m waiting & hoping. I’ll come out with a couple of names in later rounds of value.
McSnead always leaves open a spot for a Rookie in The Draft to start.
Right now it could be Center ?? Mundt just signed so scratch that.Hopkins is a guy The Rams drafted to replace Everett 2021. Same with Jefferson for Reynolds. Need to post in a different section though.

- my take on Jefferson is he had a tough go at it in 2020. Hard for any rookie.Josh Reynolds was in a contract year & The Rams gave him every opportunity to shine. He played poorly at times & was NOT the BEST of the wr’s .Jefferson will be ready,Woods is a Stud,Kupp needs less Reps.
I Believe Depth at WR is huge & The Rams need to Add A Top WR if there ??
Value is huge. I could be wrong on this as a need ? Still if that player is there The Rams need to draft him ???

—My point being as an Old school Draftnik is there are VALUE positions
in The NFL. The Rams are in A PERFECT
POSITION to Draft a WR or OLB .
I always add a value RB type as well.
That kid from UCLA
might be that guy?
—Special teams player type. Tavon Austin was such a BAD draft pick,
but if you get him at 57 it’s a different story.Same with DeSean Jackson when he entered. Kupp? Juju ?Get my point??

-Edit - lmao - JUJU

Btw -The Eams have there own Juju

Supposedly it's a 1yr $8mil deal and he turned down much larger offers to come back to Pitts for a year.

I say best to change your double-barrel shotgun birdshot "best talent available draft philosophy" towards the few smaller needs targets. I totally disagree with the thought that a WR is going to help this team win when we have Woods/Kupp/Jefferson playing in front of any rookie WR. Rams have invested already a 2nd rd pick last season in a WR after signing up Kupp & Woods. Woods is here for 4 more seasons @ a cost of over #58 million. Kupp is here for the next 3 seasons @ a cost of near $45 million-plus there's Jefferson who is also a millionaire. Nope don't see it.

Rams will need immediate returns from those first two selections Defense will bring you much better quicker results to your team.....The rams just lost two veteran DL'ers. Rams are fat in run stuffers, better aim to get you a legit pass rusher (ER/DE) & a pass defender (CB) with those top 2 picks! Then you can possibly think about offense.

IF the Rams are chasing Golladay then one of our two vet WRs are likely to be moved. Only reason I even think it's a possibility is because he might want to play with Stafford.

In that event I would also presume the Rams have a deal in place to move Kupp or Woody. Maybe with Detroit too btw. Though if they can handle 3x guys getting paid more the better.

It seems my attempts to ignore this possibility are failing. Thankfully he should be off the market soon.

They restructured Coop and Woods. Would be very weird/harder to move them now.

Yeah it would be terrible to restructure and push money into the future to only read them shortly after.

True. Would be a dick move admittedly to trade a dude after redoing the deal forgot about that.

I guess I could live with what we have then plus Golladay.

Well I'd rather value with the Rams feel about their own player than how other teams feel about their player. And that's not even the same life didn't have a market. We don't know yet. We know he's just an average center but it's not necessarily bad to have an average center. either. I don't know I guess we'll see.

Also I stated this above but Austin Blythe might get bull rush from time to time but Matt Stafford moves around in the pocket better than golf so I don't think he's going to be a sitting duck.

True but my concern is no matter Goffs faults he was also like gumby and got right up...With Stafford we can't afford those extra hits and he might not be so lucky. And since we put all eggs into this basket I want to make sure he protected well.

It's like buying a Ferrari and putting a cheap coat of wax on it lol.

Worst case scenario they have the draft. And moving that third round pick up means a more secure chance at some of the centers in that range.

IMO Snead is probably gonna move down, get more picks, then start nailing needs. Unfortunately if center is barren on the roster teams will want to move in front of us for centers. But they can do things like move up themselves to get the guy they want so even if it came down to that we'd be fine I think. Stafford can probably coach up a center as long as the guy's not a dipshit because he knows how to oversee calls did it with Ragnow even.

Really think Snead was blowing smoke there in that presser. It's true but what he didn't say was the equation had changed with Stafford. IMO.

Typically I'd be more excited but this draft teams will also need some luck as will be a bigger crapshoot with the covid stuff. So the picks will have some more difficulty attached to them.

Lol I actually think Stafford helps Blythe because he can move around more. Wherever goff dropped back is where he would get hit lol. Straight line right to the qb. But yeah we can't deal with any Stafford injuries.
