Worst case scenario they have the draft. And moving that third round pick up means a more secure chance at some of the centers in that range.

IMO Snead is probably gonna move down, get more picks, then start nailing needs. Unfortunately if center is barren on the roster teams will want to move in front of us for centers. But they can do things like move up themselves to get the guy they want so even if it came down to that we'd be fine I think. Stafford can probably coach up a center as long as the guy's not a dipshit because he knows how to oversee calls did it with Ragnow even.

It's also very possible that they slide Corbett to Center and have the other OLs compete for the OG spot. With Stafford being a long-time veteran, he can compensate for Corbett's newness to OL calls. And then they draft an interior OL in the mid rounds to add depth and compete for a spot next year.

That's a really good point. Will be interesting to see if things trend that way and if he can handle it Corbs is a lot more stout than some of these FA options.

Starting to wonder if Reynolds comes back on a cheap deal so he can test FA next yr when more money is available?

At the very least he provides experienced depth. Then again he still can likely get more PT somewhere else.

Whose left at C? Reiter?
Whose left at WR? Desean Jackson/Zay Jones?

Yea Reiter is probably a little bit better but the Centers are getting scooped up. So if we're not careful both might get signed. There are a lot of WRs and Edge rushers still out there though. I think DJax makes a lot of sense. We will almost certainly draft a speed type WR too. Would love Aldon Smith or Clowney.

Lots of good players on that list. Rams wise to conserve remaining cap dollars for fill-in deals that work for us.

We simply need to let this play out... wait to see who doesn’t get the offer they want, before settling on a short term winner opportunity / Rams deal.

I guess we'll see. I mean the team who was seen Blythe the most in the NFL continues to bring him back and has not tried to upgrade from him. I just feel like Blythe has become the target of some unnecessary criticism. But that's just me. Like I said I don't think he's the next best thing at center. I think he's an average Joe. But nowhere near as bad as people make him out to be

They have been looking at safeties in the draft for the last three years. Apparently it’s a position that is low salary in their cap equations

This also has been the second year in a row that they were comfortable allowing Blythe to test the free agent market and he settled for a low paying one year contract. Nobody scooped him up and they all had plenty of time to do it, twice now.

I hope not. Jefferson can easily fill in for him.

this seems like it was always the plan. I don't think the Rams were ever actually in on a center. I think they just wanted to give Blythe a chance to get what he could, And maybe show him that he's not going to command the market that he thought. They're going to end up signing Blythe for like 2 years 7.5 million.

for the record I don't think Blythe is a bad center. I just think he's average. Which is why his market isn't shaping up. He doesn't have the performance or the household name to compete in an off-season where there were eight starting centers up for free agency.
I have always said Blythe is a fairly decent center on first down second and short.

However, on third and long, I hope Stafford doesn't mind running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Goff just couldn't do that.

One can hope that is the plan since I am completely done with Blythe on third and long
