Also smoke screen or not Sneads talking about adjusting the offense to fit "certain" people and a deep threat isn't necessarily just speed but big guys that can jump up fight for the ball and creat big plays. I found that eerily interesting. I'm not going to let my mind wander to much but seemed he was hinting at something. Wether it's free agency or draft that said I don't think they would acquire a veteran quarterback and Superbowl aspirations to pin there hopes on a rookie. We shall see.
Agree, we have no physical freaks at WR or TE. We have two very good complimentary guys and decent TE's. We have no difficult mismatches. We need to add that type of player to make a play when the offense is stymied. Look what Metcalf or Hopkins do for their team. Or Tyreke Hill. The Chiefs don't win their SB without Hill's big play late.

You never see pre-game hype about how will our opponent match up with one of our skill players. Like you see with Adams, Hopkins, Julio, Hill or even Metcalf.

That is just reality and too many here keep saying how great our skill guys are. Like Stafford will never have it so good. Well, I think they are talented, but also a product of the scheme much like Goff in some sense.

Again they are good, but not special where they strike fear based on their skillset. Teams are more concerned with or focused more on the scheme.

When they handle the scheme, we don't have the players to overcome that and yes that was Goff as well. So the question is can Stafford overcome that when things get figured out by the opponent on game day? And better yet can he do it without thst special player that provides a mismatch.

Gotta believe the Rams will not be short of offensive weapons this year. That would mean some help at WR and TE for red zone and physical (vs finese) matchups.

Watched Snead’s press conference, and it was painful. I mean, I am actually hurting here. His communication skills have actually gotten much worse.

Takes so long to say so little. Repeats himself three and four times; and, his new thing is to unnecessarily throw the word ‘right’ into the middle of every sentence or two.

Still, as long as he makes good personnel decisions, he can repeat himself as much as he wants. RIGHT?

Not trying to be mean but I believe Snead suffers from anxiety. Doesn’t mean he cannot do his job but just struggles in certain situations.

I do think his response means they have a plan. It reminds me of the cooks acquisition that mcvay coveted. I have been saying for the longest time hard as it would be I feel with Jefferson and Kupp/Woods that one of Kupp or Woods may get traded then this Woods story comes up. I'd like to keep both but Snead definitely seemed like he was trying to say something without saying it. I have a feeling that some of there trades might be salary dumps but another trade maybe a swap of need for need not your typical picks or disgruntled player etc. I love both Woods and Kupp I just don't see them keeping those 2 and Jefferson and even though we know they are all faster than what people think it seemed he was speaking more about a Gallowday type. This will be an interesting off season that's for sure.

I will say I was watching video on Ross and I know I maybe in the minority here but I really like what I saw. I saw his speed yes but I saw some highpoint stuff and was surprised that he was terrible at route running. He seemed a bit better than a one trick pony. He should be given a chance and if that cheap well then maybe he deserves a look. I've been mentioning him for months but with all this time I took a very hard look and I liked what I saw but then again I'm a dope on NY and a fugazi GM lol what do I know lol.

I think the Rams are just two restructures away from being close to even. With all of the cheap talent about to hit free agency, they're definitely going to want some additional cap room though.
Hope so.
Will be interesting to see.

Anything’s possible.

GMs need to be talent evaluators and make good personnel decisions. Coaches need to develop and manage players and a staff; and communication is part of that.

Neither should HAVE to be good communicating with the media. They can be outstanding at their jobs without having that skill set. However, IMO, the reality of the day is that communication with the media can really help or hurt a GM or Head Coach.

McVay comes across really well. Pleasant, insightful and talkative. However, if you listen and break down what he says, the man usually says nothing.

I think this is why we have seen our Rams move away from the boom/bust #1 draft pick frenzy. Yeah...cool...you got 2 1st round picks for a player that in hindsight would have gone #1 in virtually any hindsight draft. I love looking at the next great prospect. But I want a winner and SB contender when the dust settles.
Amen to this.
The success (as in a pro bowl level player) rate of mid first round picks and lower makes giving up the first rounds picks less painful.

So 2 thirds and a fourth are the comp picks. That's good!

If I'm the Saints I'd be considering using this season as year one of a quick rebuild. Of course when you have a top HC that may not be something they're willing to do. But they definitely need to find a QB so why not flip that roster a bit and bite the bullet now.

Not saying which is better, but it is debatable. Plus, Mack is still using up that cap space going forward. And the Bears lack of picks prevent them from finding a QB via draft or trade. So they are screwed until they get a QB.

They thought they had a QB and obviously were not concerned with cap implications.
What did the Raiders get out of it? Two good players one of which is at a position that is very dependent on Oline and frequently fades in a few years as one of the shortest lived position on the field. Neither of those players look like Hall of Famers, maybe not even All-Pros. All that cap space added up to overpaid and underperforming players.

You take the draft picks, I’ll take the sure thing All Pro for several years. I’ll take Faulk, Ramsey and Mack all day.
