I think the first 4-5 games will be games closest to home w/ regards to away games. Pretty sure convid-19 has juggled the schedule somewhat.
That's not possible with what's been leaked already. The first 4 games are vs the other conference and we play the AFC East. They'll be our longest travel games of the year.

Since teams travel private charter it's not the flight that is the problem. It will be at hotels and I assume all meals will be at the hotels with players basically locked down to prevent exposure. So, in reality, it doesn't matter where they are playing. The risk is pretty much the same no matter where they go. They can prevent or minimize exposure by maintaining discipline within the organization.

Brian Allen's illness might be a blessing in regard to other players taking the virus seriously. Younger healthy men seem to feel it can't happen to them. I thank god I instilled a lot of personal discipline in my son. He's been taking it all very seriously.

I don't think young men don't feel it can happen to them.
I think they look at the odds, in which roughly 1 out of 12 cases are people in their twenties,
and of that group, only 1 in 500 die from it (0.2%).
I'm happy for you that you have a responsible son, but I think your supposition is somewhat invalid.

I don't think my supposition is faulty. All you need to do is look at what happened in both FL on spring break and in CA when they opened the beaches. Now Newsome is trying to put the genie back in the bottle and reclose some of those beaches. My son lives and works in Oceanside. He's 22 yo and he is even surprised at the attitude of people he works with and deals with at work. He's the only one wearing a mask and he gets a lot of grief about it. But he won't stop wearing it.

He said the biggest offenders are by enlarge in their 20's into their 30's, with more males than females. He said what he has noticed is that younger kids and older (50+) are generally masked.

I'm still guessing week 1, Sunday Night against the Cowgirls. If not Sunday night, one of the Monday night games (2 of them week 1).

I bet big city teams will be on the road early with cities like Jax, GB, TB, Nashville, Charlotte, Dallas, etc .. getting home gms.

They will try to play in cities that have a better shot of being "open" vs NYC, Det, Chi, Philly, LA, etc...

I thought I read somewhere all NFC will play all AFC first weeks as part of their CoVID stratgies?

If so, the Saints leak would be fake.

The Houston Chronicle reports the Chiefs will host the Texans for the 2020 season's opening game on Thursday Sept. 10.
The Chiefs kick off their title defense with a reprise of a Divisional Round matchup where they overcame a stunning 24-0 deficit for an easy 51-31 victory. That is, of course, is everything goes according to plan. The season's official start date should not be considered a sure thing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NFL's entire 2020 schedule will be officially announced Thursday evening.

that blows the nfc vs afc in the first month theory out of the water.

Interesting. We will find out soon.

REPORT: NFL PLANNING FOR CHRISTMAS DAY GAME…ON A FRIDAY

The 2020 NFL schedule is set to be released later on Thursday. But at this point. it’s let’s get weird time for the league.

According this report from Jeff Duncan of The Athletic, the NFL has scheduled the Minnesota Vikings to take on the Saints in New Orleans on Christmas Day. The one issue with this? Christmas falls on a Friday.

This would represent the first time since 2009 that the NFL has played a game on a Friday. Christmas is also one of the few days the gridiron world reserves for the NBA.

Apparently that’s not going to be the case this coming season.

The NFL couldn’t have asked for a better holiday game, either. It’s a rematch of last season’s NFC Wildcard Playoff game between the two teams. Minnesota defeated the Saints following a controversial ending.

Surely, the league knows what it’s doing here.
