I wouldn't be so fast to rule out the Pats. Belichick beat us in two Super Bowls because of his defense shutting down high end passing games. He's done the same thing to other high end passing teams like the Bills back when they were in their window. That Bills offense was crazy good but Belichick is on a different level as a gameplanner. In fact the truth is if you want to beat Belichick you gotta have a good run game and we can't be sure quite yet that the Rams will have that due to their OL.

There will be some easy games but the Cards are going to give us 2 much tougher games than last year too. And Dallas just had a fantastic draft and added a WR1 at the top so you can't just shut down Cooper now. Their offense is gonna be extremely high caliber this year and they beat us last year just with the run game alone.

We are in no place right now to overlook anyone.
But, Bellicheat's success always meant Tommy Terrific was at QB.....It's Cleveland all over again for dear Bill...

I think Dallas is going to be the best team in the NFC next year. I hate them but McCarthy is going to reenergize that team. They have loads of talent. Elliot and Prescott are at their peaks and healthy and their Oline is still dominant. Now they have a trio of excellent receivers. The D took some hits but their Linebackers are the best in the NFL as a unit IMO. I still see the Niners and Saints as the other 2 top NFC teams based on the offseason and talent/coaching. If things go right for us we can be in that 3-7 slot in the NFC in a reload year for us. I see Green Bay stumbling this year as their 13-3 record last year was very underwhelming and Rodgers might already have a foot out the door after the Love pick. The Vikings, Bucs and Eagles will be tough. Seattle will win their 10 games as usual. The dark horse is gonna be Arizona and possibly Atlanta.

Seeing the Patriots without Brady is one of the most exciting things about the 2020 season. I can't wait.

But if I had to guess how it goes down... Stidham will be a functional game manager similar to Phil Simms. And the Pats defense will be lights out so they'll make the playoffs.

Don't see them doing much in the playoffs with Stidham though, barring them having a fantastic run game.

I'll stick with the Cleveland version of Bellicheck. The one where he gets fired before the Browns moved to Baltimore...

NFL could delay season to avoid playing in empty stadiums

When the NFL releases its schedule for the 2020 season on Thursday night, it will feature the typical 16-game, 17-week season that fans enjoy every year. However, amid concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the league could be prepared to take drastic steps to keep fans happy.

In an interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio shared that the NFL is considering delaying the start of the 2020 season by a month. The move would push Week 1 of the regular season into October, which would also push back Super Bowl LV, giving players more time to prepare if training camp is delayed or altered. Of course, there’s an even more significant benefit for NFL teams.

There are ongoing discussions around the league about starting the 2020 season without fans in attendance at games. The decision would be to ensure the safety of the general public and to follow regulations across the country regarding social distancing and limiting mass gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately for the NFL, it would come at a dramatic cost. NFL owners are reportedly fearful of the financial hit they would suffer if games are played without fans and players know a significant blow to the league’s revenue would hurt the salary cap.

As a result, league officials have discussed the possibility of moving the season back to the start of October. There is also growing confidence in the NFL, per Florio, that the health crisis across the country will have improved by the fall. The NFL believes that with more testing kits available and operating sports will be easier for teams and leagues.

The NFL is constantly evaluating the COVID-19 pandemic and planning out its fallback plans if there is a delay during the summer or even during the NFL season. As of now, though, the increased confidence from around the league is a good sign for football fans.

Given the NFL’s hope that fans could attend games in 2020, it marks a reason for hope that a sense of normalcy will return this year during a difficult time.

Saw a leak scheduled account on twitter that I am 100 percent sure is BS. Either way, it has us playing @Tampa week 6 on TNF.

Sets it up clear as day it will be New England. Can't imagine the Jets being the kind of marquee game the league would want.
Yup the problem for us is travel. Unles it’s week 1 at home the 2 and 3 are Miami and Buffalo and we stay there that’s a lot of travel otherwise. Week 1 open at home vs the Pats in a double SB rematch the 2 weeks on the east coast followed by hom to the Jets.

They won’t want to share the spotlight of the schedule release.

But I like your thinking! (y)

so, according to Foolio, teams are allowed to release the schedule 30 minutes before the 5:00PM release Show....I'm wondering if Demoff is going to hold that up and release the schedule "sometime in the future", perhaps with the uniform unveiling?

I think that’s already been done and will be posted on social media after the actual release. The Rams know their schedule already.

I think the first 4-5 games will be games closest to home w/ regards to away games. Pretty sure convid-19 has juggled the schedule somewhat.
