With the 24th pick of 6th rd, pick # 203 overall the N.O. Saints select.....
Darryl Williams, OL, Mississippi State
Scouting Report:
Exceptional interior offensive lineman that works best within smaller spaces. Locks on to defenders and has excellent strength to secure the block. Lower body strength is also very good, and can drive defenders back in the run game to make lanes. A clear interior blocker that won’t be considered as a tackle, but when given fixed zones to work with, is an elite run and pass blocker.

1586899780843.png

Mississippi State center Darryl Williams is one of the top senior center prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, and his matchup against LSU will play a large part in his NFL evaluation.

Williams is a 6-foot-3, 310-pound fifth-year team captain that displays NFL-caliber traits. He has a compact build and also has two-year of starting experience at left guard.

He displays impressive quickness for the position and is explosive off of the line of scrimmage.

Williams uses his smaller stature to his advantage as a run blocker and he does a nice job winning the leverage battle. He gets underneath his assignment with quickness and uses a quick initial punch to extend and drive his assignment.

He has average play strength and isn’t exactly a bully, but Williams displays the ability to generate enough push to create and open running lanes at the point-of-attack.

He uses his athletic balance and quickness to his advantage as a puller and displays the ability to execute when he gets to his spot.

Williams is an effective combo blocker and displays impressive quickness working to the 2nd level. He quickly established effective body positioning and can square up and seal out linebackers, and his ability to do so has helped the Bulldogs spring a few big runs.

He’s still putting it together in pass protection, but Williams is an effective help blocker that has the quickness to get to his spot in slide protection.

Williams fires his hands quickly off the snap and can win the leverage battle in pass protection, but he could have issues against power rushers at the next level. He has the grip strength to sustain when he gets locked inside, but Williams tends to give up a yard or two on initial contact and struggles to drop the anchor at times.

The matchup against LSU will afford evaluators the opportunity to see how Williams handles NFL-caliber power on the interior.

With the 205th pick
of the 2020 ROD Mock Draft the Minnesota Vikings select:
A.J. Green
Cornerback
Oklahoma State

HEIGHT 6'2"
WEIGHT 202 lbs

20200414_152706.jpg

Overview
Outside cornerback with size and length, but a lack of speed that could limit his scheme fits. He imposes his size on less shifty targets from press and when playing the ball underneath. He plays with adequate athleticism and route anticipation, but has issues sticking with quick route breaks and longer routes where he will fall behind against NFL speed. Green might be best-suited as a backup in a zone-heavy coverage scheme where he keeps the game in front of him and in smaller spaces.

Strengths
  • Effective use of length in early press
  • Fires and resets hands into frame of receiver
  • Size tends to be disruptive in contesting catches
  • Good route phase underneath
  • Performed well against Baylor's Denzel Mims
  • Hits closing burst into passing lane when he's near
  • Attacks high-point with well-timed pokes
  • Soaks up loose action as a tackler

Think TE is their biggest need at this point. I suggest Charlie Taumeopeau TE Portland St when their pick comes up

The New Orleans Saints have finished making their selections in the 2020 R.O.D. Draft.

The Saints traded their 2nd round pick to the Miami Dolphins to move up and select
Center Erik McCoy in the 2019 draft.
The Saints also traded their 7th round pick to the N.Y. Giants for CB Eli Apple.

New Orleans had the fewest picks in this years draft with 5 and entered the draft with
very few needs.

1586909769954.png

New Orleans Saints
Rd. 1 #24

KENNETH MURRAY
Linebacker Oklahoma

The New Orleans Saints are pretty much a complete team. They finally have a legit number two receiver behind Michael Thomas with the signing of Emmanuel Sanders and they brought back guard Andrus Peat. So by taking Kenneth Murray in the 2020 NFL Draft, they pair him with one of the most underappreciated linebackers in the league, Demario Davis. The addition of Murray would help take the Saints’ defense to the next level
.

Rd. 3 #88

KYLE DUGGER

Safety Lenoir-Rhyne

The Cliff Harris Award winner, which is given to the best defensive player in Division II. Dugger has size, athleticism and length to be an impactful. defender at the next level. The small school safety has been a riser since the Senior Bowl.

Rd. 4 #130

DEVIN DUVERNAY

Wide Receiver Texas

A compact slot receiver with plenty of ability after the catch, Duvernay is an electric playmaker who brings athleticism and toughness to the wide receiver position. His skill set isn’t one of anything more than a complementary weapon at the next level, but he should be a serviceable starter in the pros.

Rd. 5 #169

ALEX TAYLOR
Offensive Tackle South Carolina State

Every NFL draft class seems to possess some sort of spectacle. Whether it’s a former basketball star taking his talents from the hardwood to the gridiron. Or perhaps a huge, athletic freak who forces scouts to salivate at the thought of his potential. What if I told you there was a player who matched both storylines? South Carolina State’s Alex Taylor is that guy.

Rd. 6 #203

DARRYL WILLIAMS

Guard or Center Mississippi State

Williams looks to have the toughness and competitive edge in him to have a successful career in the NFL. As Mississippi State’s starting center, he’s shown that he can win with power and push the line in the running game while holding strong in pass protection, and he’s also played at left guard in his collegiate career. This versatility could bode well for Williams, as he could slide into a position of need for the team that drafts him.

Just for fun. These were my biggest MISSES drafting for Tampa Bay.

Picks I "INTENDED" to make before one of you guys stole them away.

The miss on safety Geno Stone was the most upsetting. He was snagged two picks in front of me at the time.

I also put the round I was going to make the pick:

1st - Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson, 4.39 40 yrd

2nd - Jonathan Taylor, RB Wisconsin, 4.41 40 yrd Dash

2nd - J.K. Dobbins, RB Ohio State

2nd - Josh Jones, OT Houston Cougars

3rd - Jonathan Greenard, Edge, Florida

4th - J.R. Reed, S, Georgia

4th - Geno Stone, S, Connecticut

4th - Brandon Jones, S, Texas

6th - Darryl Williams, OL, Mississippi State

With the 206th pick the Jacksonville Jaguars pick Joseph Charlton, Punter SC
1586916352425.png

2. Joseph Charlton, Punter
SCHOOL:
South Carolina
YEAR: Senior
HEIGHT: 6-5
WEIGHT: 195 lbs
The strong-legged Charlton red-shirted his first season at South Carolina but 2017 marked the beginning of one heck of a collegiate career for the Gamecocks punter.
Charlton averaged 45.5 yards per punt on 171 boots in his time with South Carolina. He also created 66 fair catches and drilled 59 punts within the 20 yard line. Punters are one of the last positions picked in the draft but Charlton should be a no-brainer once Mann is off the board.

With the 207th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select:.....

Colby Parkinson*, TE, Stanford
Height: 6-7. Weight: 252. Arm: 33.25. Hand: 9.63.
40 Time: 4.83.
Projected Round (2020): 3-5.

1586927950981.png

4/4/20: Parkinson had 48 catches for 589 yards and a touchdown in 2019 while playing with backups at quarterback. He provides a size mismatch in the passing game, but he also ran slower than expected at the combine.

8/17/19: Stanford has had a string of quality tight end prospects for the NFL under David Shaw, and Parkinson will continue that trend. In 2018, he totaled 29 receptions for 485 yards and seven touchdowns. Parkinson could produce more as a junior now that he has some experience and Stanford has also lost some receivers to the NFL. In his freshman campaign, Parkinson had only 10 receptions for 97 yards, but four of those catches went for touchdowns.

Parkinson immediately stands out on the football field with this size. Standing 6-7, his 33-inch arms tell the story for this Stanford tight end. A school that has produced plenty of NFL tight ends. He using his length to his advantage and he could be well on his way to becoming an eventual starter at the next level.

Strengths
It is best to get Parkinson involved in the redzone as often as possible. With his size and length, he is a jump ball target. Not many players in the NFL could compete with his ability to rise above the rest. Not to mention he has a vertical of 32.5″ and he can snag the ball away from his frame. Shows good hands on film and he consistently high points the ball that keeps defenders from being able to make a play.

Parkinson brings the ability to line up in multiple spots on offense that allows the team to use creative ways to get him the ball. Can line up out wide as a big slot, inline or as a “H” back. Has length to be a solid blocker in the run game. As a receiver, he can win at all three levels although he isn’t much of a deep threat. However, with his size it won’t be hard to fit him the ball in tight coverage with a huge catch radius.

Weaknesses
He is a bit lean in his frame. He could add muscle to his frame to help in the physical aspects of his game. While he can be a solid blocker, he still needs work on technique to become a better one and get more snaps on the field. He is more of a pass catcher than blocker at this point. Struggles with leverage due to his size but needs to nail down technique. It will be a big reason he won’t get more snaps without improvement.

He lacks the quickness to get into his route quickly, needs time to get into his breaks. He shouldn’t be the first or second option on the play. Needs to work on his release from the inline position as well. The physical aspect of his game leaves a lot to be desired for such a big player.

Projection: Day 3

Nice pick. I expected him to go earlier.
