There usually isn't much in the way of activity in the NFL for this but thought I'd start this up anyways.

Battle of conflicting reports, happens every year.

His salary doesn't look that daunting to be honest. It's about $3.7 million in 2021 and $5.1 million in 2022 with just the prorated part of his $675K base salary this year. I could easily see them if they think he improves the D trade for him then send him to somebody else in the off season to not have to pay that next year. I'm just not sure we need to add another body to that position. Fox has been playing well of late as has Gaines and Robinson is coming back to go with SJD and Brockers. DL is the last place I think we add somebody else into the rotation.

A lot of spoken of Avery Williamson, he's somebody I've mocked in off seasons before as have others. He's in the last year of his contract so asking price should be miniscule and we'd just have to pay the remainder of his $2.75 million base pay. Just not sure they pull the trigger to add anybody.

Side note this is nice.

I'd imagine these guys are buyers not sellers, even with Barkley out they're as good as the other teams in that division.

The only thing I heard was that due to COVID protocol expect to see more trades being made today and tomorrow vs right up to the trade deadline. Thought I heard that on the pre game before the Sunday night game.

I get it but think it depends on the team as well. There are a few contending teams with week 9 and 10 byes and that could allow them to trade for somebody and use that bye week to pass the covid timeline and allow them to practice with their new team. It's going to be interesting though as usual don't expect this to be big with the NFL.

Good lord, Quinnen Williams next to AD would be sick and I'd be all over that if Robinson wasn't finally ready to play. But the cost to obtain vs our actual need probably doesn't match up. If I was a team with need on the dline I'd easily give up a second rounder for Williams.

Haven't seen anything in the trade rumors that I'd jump on though. We'd need someone who would be cheap cap wise, wouldn't cost a high pick, and step into specific roles and I haven't seen any that entice me.

I’m not advocating that this would be possible or even worth it because depth is everything for a team with super bowl hopes. But for the sake of those people who like throwing around crazy trade ideas here is one I just saw. No idea what this site is, just saw it randomly on google.

The site that guy writes for should drug test him before he submits his next article.

Don’t know anything about the two players coming back and like the three we give up. But it’s hard to turn your nose up at a 2nd round pick especially if they don’t win the division with 7 wins.

Actually, I'd take that deal. I'd just nix Parks for Davion Taylor (the Eagles linebacker).

I saw that yesterday and was going to post it but it was so stupid that I didn't want to bother wasting anyone's time. I say that with no disrespect to you as I love any and all rumors but more so to the article itself. It's like yea let's revamp the eagles in that shit division for a bag of footballs. As if the rams were running a charity for the eagles lol. I'm not opposed to the 2nd round pick but they get 3 starters and a pick from us to boot. Yea no sorry. I understand they are all free agents but I'd rather use most of there talents this year and let the chips fall where they may.

Had it been Reynolds and brown for the 2nd and another pick I'd have to think about that cause the eagles 2nd rounder could wind up being almost like a late 1st rounder.

Prob with that trade with Philly is we're giving up good depth players who are well steeped in McVay's offense and way of doing things. Giving up Everett for a guy like Butler makes zero sense to me.

But I am ok with the Rams moving Everett for a pick. Because they wouldn't do that unless the rook has been showing well in practice and if he is, sure move Everett and get that comp now.

Also I'm ok with moving Reynolds. He's just a guy, and we have Jefferson who is probably better than him. In fact I have been suspicious of the way the Rams started "featuring" Reynolds and suspect they are going to move him. The concern with doing that is the depth, what happens then if someone gets hurt and how do they feel about their WR room then. But there would be zero dropoff from Reynolds to Jefferson IMO in fact he would upgrade us.

Bret Stuter (the author) of Fansided suggests dozens of trades for the Rams, and is especially active this time of year.

Dozens is Not an exaggeration.

Parks is an ok player, and Butler doesnt make sense. We dont need a PS WR. I may not be a big fan of Everett, Reynolds and Brown but they are surely more valuable to the Rams this year than a 2nd rounder is in next years draft. Sure they are all potential FA, but they would be starters on Philly

Still not interested in trading Everett. He's the only thing close to a matchup nightmare we've got in the pass game.

We don't have burners, we don't have that big physical 6'5" guy that can go up and get it in tight coverage.

My personal opinion is Everett is a
Massive liability in our run game. A trade makes sense since we are not resigning him. If we could bring in a top notch blocking TE I think that could push our run game over the top and make us near unstoppable similar to what you see with the Niners.

When I watch the film, so many runs are cut short by a failed block by Everett or Mundt. Higbee is 50-50.

I mentioned that during the rams/bears game thread. Sure does look like they were showcasing him. It I thought it went rather well.

Reynolds? Man, I dunno. I cant see a team thinking he's a game changer. 4th year in the system and he's still a 50% catch guy. And if they've been showcasing him the last couple weeks, he's only caught 8 of 17 targets in that stretch

Reynolds has always been an inconsistent target.

We know there's no way Josh dropped 9 passes. I never liked the target stat, it's useless. It doesn't split drops from missed/bad throws and doesn't need to. Just needs to be taken out of the box. He's been better this year than previous so far. I wouldn't trade him unless it was to plug in a starter we need, like LB.
