Yes, thanks to Havenstein, Blythe, and to a lesser extent Whitworth. They spent a lot of draft capital on the o-line on the line but their plans were derailed by injuries last year. Whitworth was resigned for 2 years as a place holder for Noteboom. Blythe's contract doesn't guarantee him the start over Allen who outplayed both Sullivan and Blythe before he was injured. Corbett had a very good year in 2019 and that was not being with the o-line all season. He proved himself at LG. Edwards and Evans outplayed Havenstein and Blythe despite only coming in toward the end of the season. Yet they stabilized the o-line. The Rams are correct in staying the course with their o-ine plans. Rookies taken this year aren't going to play better than the guys they already have. Rookies on the o-line rarely play well if they started immediately. The speed of the game and quality of the opposition is just too great of a step up for guys who have to think their way through each snap.
Their current o-line needs time to practice and play together to gel as a unit. They are not as bad as last year's rating indicate.
It is certainly tough to get a fair assessment when we had to throw out so many combos. I am still concerned about our physicality in the middle, an Upgrade at Center would go a long way. Continuity and a scheme that compliments the players we have will go a long way also. Lets hope we stay healthy and they find a way to gel
