Can someone please research for @ottoman89 and the other Goff nay-sayers how often Goff was pressured on a four man rush with five blockers compared to Rodgers.

This isn't Facebook, take some perspective that you're wrong, and respect the walk. God forbid you point a finger at the defense and the O line.
Why don't you go see everything I've said about this game? I've said every time that Goff played good and I was proud of how he played. And the reason we lost wasn't him, but the Defense.

I was commenting on the McVay quote, not Goff's game today.

honestly i think he did taylor the offense to goff and the offensive line...

Goff is accurate on short throws... so lots of short throws... the oline is average so get it out quick
Agree... This OL can't pass block when the other team knows you have to throw it. It shouldn't be that way.

Rogers had all day to throw, and he doesn't even need that kind of help. That needs to be fixed regardless who the QB is.

Goff isn't Rodgers never has been before and shouldn't be compared. Why because of Cal?

Packers were 6/8 on 3rd down at one point. The Rams knew that they were passing too. And couldn’t get close to him.

You just saw why #1 seeds rarely lose in this round. Being well rested vs a team that has been on the road 3 of the last 4 weeks and games that were essentially two playoff type must win games, and not getting that week off to get healthy and rested.

It matters.... A lot.

One of the reasons they controlled the line of scrimmage in my view. Just looked fresher.

They definitely controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides. I was surprised how well they ran it down our throats..super surprised. And that cant all be put on AD being hurt. Our angles and tackling today were atrocious. You cant let that team run the ball well. Only chance to get to Rodgers was stop the run and get them in known passing situations. If they are in manageable down and distances like today no way you beat them.

Goff's talents are wasted with this oline. He's a pocket passer and with no pocket he can't function.

Mcvay has to dink and dunk every week, he must hate it. It's not easy to pull off every week, mistakes will be made.

Watson would cure what ails this team, the oline.

Honestly Goff played well 2day and should've been a non story. But leave it to McVay to answer a question like that and not commit to him, and get the Rams' writers all riled up. I personally wanted us to make a run at Watson, even if it meant giving up another 2+ 1st rounders because I think he's that good. Figured it was a long shot though, but when McVay says stuff like that maybe we actually do try and trade for him.

If McVay wants to move on from Goff, so be it, but he better have a replacement in mind. #1 QBs are hard to find, and that is what Goff is. He's also young, and a pocket passer, so he should theoretically be able to play at a high level for quite some time.

I am probably one of McVay's biggest critics on the forum. I find him good, but not great. There are several coaches I would take way, way before him. And I perceive arrogance to be one of Mcvay's biggest flaws - gotta wonder if that same arrogance makes him think he can plug in any QB and succeed. Which, of course, no NFL coach can. There is lots of blame to go around this year. McVay included. To the extent he might be trying to scapegoat Goff for all of the offense's struggles, to move off Jared, perhaps it works. JG sure has his shortcomings. But he's a good QB on balance and tough as nails. Be careful what you wish for...

This has been a TEAM effort it didn't happen tonight. Goff was not the culprit. Missing Kupp sucked big-time. Yet AD99 all that hype and he was obviously affected. Put it all together and that's what we are all about.

I dunno... Could have come out wrong with him just meaning, yes he is the QB right now, as in its not a question that he is the QB now or the future.

I am sure he is jealous that he doesn't have a Rogers, but they don't grow on trees.

Look how long it took Buffalo to finally find a QB, or the Bears who are still looking, or Browns, Jets, etc...

I am not ready to jettison Goff on hopes that Wolford works out and doesn't become the next Austin Davis or you draft someone who takes yrs to develop if ever.

If anything he needs to improve his offense to play to Goff's strengths and work on his OL's pass blocking proficiency.

Goff wouldn’t be ditched for Wolford. The only way Goff isn’t a Ram is if they work out a deal for Deshaun Watson.

I think there’s a better than even chance Goff returns as our starter, but who knows with our FO

Bullshit it meant nothing. Traveling cross country from LA weather to snow and mid 30 degrees is a thing. Also were 9k fans and they were pretty damn loud

9000 fans is nothing. The concept of home field advantage is difficulty in changing plays or hearing snap count. This was a chargers game in that little soccer stadium they played in.

Also, the weather meant nothing. It wasn't bitingly cold, the field is heated, and the team had been there for days to acclimate.

Travel also means nothing. Oh no, they spend 4 hours on a private jet playing cards.

home field didn't play a factor in this outcome

Can’t even say I’m mad about today’s loss. It was an uphill battle from the start. Sure as hell can’t say anything negative about Mr. Goff. He played pretty good for a guy that’s been drug through the gutter and has a bad thumb.
The other side of the ball was a total circus. Can’t even call them a defense because they didn’t defend anything. The offense only scored 18 because they never had the ball. Even if they scored 35 , Rodgers would’ve put 40plus on them. That’s why I never pay any attention to stats.
Some of us on here kept saying that the D got exposed in a few games this year. Totally shredded today. #1 regular season defense
Whoop-de-fucking-doo
Maybe I am a little mad. Like everyone else , I was worried about Goff , and had faith in our D to hold them to 25 or so. Goff showed up along with Akers. No one else stood out to me.
A few holes to fill and try again next year. Maybe someday we’ll have at least an average ILB that can play the run.

Despite the number #1 ranking I never thought the Rams defense was very good. After today who can say otherwise?
No pass rush and steamrolled against the run. I don't care GB had the #1 offense. The defense did NOTHING.

McVay is a great coach. This is a 9-7 talent team team. Mediocre offensive line and an average defense.
I agree

Zero sacks for the "number one defense" today.

They averaged over 5 yards per carry as well.

Not a winning formula.

Totally false.
Might as well say a football and a tennis ball are the same thing
