If McVay wants to move on from Goff, so be it, but he better have a replacement in mind. #1 QBs are hard to find, and that is what Goff is. He's also young, and a pocket passer, so he should theoretically be able to play at a high level for quite some time.
I am probably one of McVay's biggest critics on the forum. I find him good, but not great. There are several coaches I would take way, way before him. And I perceive arrogance to be one of Mcvay's biggest flaws - gotta wonder if that same arrogance makes him think he can plug in any QB and succeed. Which, of course, no NFL coach can. There is lots of blame to go around this year. McVay included. To the extent he might be trying to scapegoat Goff for all of the offense's struggles, to move off Jared, perhaps it works. JG sure has his shortcomings. But he's a good QB on balance and tough as nails. Be careful what you wish for...
