Another piece of speculation. What if the Rams trade Higs? They like GE enough to start, Mundt to be the 2nd or 3rd TE, and then sign Reed to a 1 year $5M prove it deal.

Once our tenant cannot sign HH to a reasonable deal they offer their 2nd for Higs. Would you do it?
Interesting thought. However, even though Hig's and Everet are both listed as TE's, they fill different roles in the offensive formation. Higby plays inline next to the Tackle when Everett is on the field at the same time. Everett is never "inline" ; he is always a yard or so back off of the line if near the Tackle, or he is a few feet away or completely split out wide. If you trade Higby, there is no one except maybe Mundt who might be able to fill. But, Mundt has played mostly the "Move" TE and I don't remember him playing "inline" much. You would have acquire to another TE in FA or Draft one that can drive block because Everett hasn't shown the ability to do it.... yet.

Damn, didn't know he declined to that level
He's played in only 36 games the last 4 years total. Got traded out of Buffalo and suspended by a shitty Bengals team and missed several games for a concussion. Some around here have talked about wanting him. I'm not one of those. There was even talk of moving him into guard.

NFL Trade Rumors: Jaguars Want to Deal Nick Foles, Start Gardner Minshew II

Just one year after signing a four-year, $88 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Nick Foles could be on his way out.

As Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported, "word is the Jaguars want to go with Gardner Minshew II as their starting QB and, ideally, find a trade partner for Foles."

Of course, his contract would cause the Jaguars to "sweeten the deal" in any trade, potentially adding another pick to move the veteran quarterback. Per Spotrac, Foles has a $22.125 million cap hit for 2020.

A trade this offseason would still leave Jacksonville with $18.75 million in dead cap for 2020, but it would save more than $3 million against the cap as well as most of the actual money owed to the 31-year-old.

It's been a disastrous situation for the team after spending big on a player who was a late-season hero the past couple of seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Foles replaced the injured Carson Wentz in 2017 and lifted the team to a championship with a near-flawless showing in the playoffs, winning Super Bowl MVP after beating the New England Patriots. In 2018, he replaced Foles again and went 4-1 as a starter during the regular season before falling in the postseason.

He didn't see the same success in Jacksonville, losing all four of his starts while throwing just three touchdowns and two interceptions. After suffering a broken collarbone in Week 1, he returned to action in Week 11 before being benched because of poor play.

There are plenty of quarterback-needy teams across the NFL, but it will be difficult to trust what version of Foles you will be getting in a trade.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars will try to move forward with Minshew, a 2019 sixth-round pick who impressed on the field last season. The Washington State product finished with 21 touchdowns to just six interceptions in 14 appearances, going 6-6 in his 12 starts.

A Foles trade would solidify Minshew's role as a starter going into 2020

Yep. It was like Groundhog Day seeing Foles sign that contract.

Car meet cliff.

You could see it coming a mile away.

how do teams i ignore years of mediocre to bad play after a handful of very good games? Foles was in a good situation, with a good offense. He had a good coach in Reich that maximized his talent and they caught some teams with their pants down with the adjustments. Foles can't carry a bad franchise. He isn't that kind of QB.

But why are they still dying to get out? Coughlin gone a while now
They think it's just a toxic culture? They may not trust the remaining front office or coaches as they were working with him would be my guess. Plus nobody sees them play except when they're in London which is a huge tax hit for 2 game checks this year as well.
