Defensive Tackle Specific Traits
Versus the Run 2 Tall, long and thick defensive lineman with good overall strength. Heavy handed. Frequently latches on and presses the OL into the backfield. Really effective as a zone-run defender. Very good balance and plays on his feet. Strong technician. Sets the edge with good gap discipline. Strong foundation to anchor. Better than average job of dropping anchor versus double team. Strong tackler. Wraps and finishes.
Pass Rush Skills 3 Has experience rushing from inside and outside. Does a good job of gaining ground while engaged. Most of his sacks and pressures come from him engaging and then gradually working through contact. Flashes an effective arm over move. Rushes half-a-man and gets push, but frequently stalls.Smooth athlete for nearly 300 pounds, but lacks suddenness. Slow to redirect. Lacks ideal torso flexibility. Good awareness to get his hands up for PBUs and to disrupt throwing windows. Inconsistent snap anticipation. Needs to do a better job protecting his legs.
Quickness (hands/feet) 4 Fires out with good leverage but lacks penetration quickness with first few steps. Smooth athlete for size but lacks quick twitch. Adequate hand quickness but more heavy-handed than quick twitch. Needs to be more active with hands as a pass rusher.
Toughness/Motor 2 Plays a lot of snaps and shows impressive stamina. Good effort in pursuit. Consistently locates and chases when he has a chance. Above average toughness. Not a street fighter but does his job and plays with an edge.

Status Report
Wormley redshirted in 2012 before playing in all 51 games (30 starts) during his four seasons of eligibility. He started 23 of 26 games played his final two years (2015-16), racking up 83 tackles, 23.5 TFL and 12.5 sacks. Wormley has some versatility as an interior defender capable of playing DT in a base 4-3 and DE (five technique) in a 3-4 front. He is a long, well-proportioned defender who does his best work versus the run. He will never be a good pass rusher but at least he's capable of getting some push and occasionally moving the QB off his spot. He carries a Day 2 grade. March 22, 2017
Will be driving back to work shortly so off line for another 2 hrs then will gladly make next pick if I get back on the clock
