Our receiving core just got that much better
Maybe Anquan Boldin will look at things a little differently now when he finds a place to play
Who was Allen Hearns before Bortles?? either BQ or Steddy B will be "come back player of the year" with Goff. My vote is Steddy B. With his hands & Goff's accuracy, Steddy can put up WV-like numbers (as long as he's got enough brain cells to still play the game). With Gurley and/or Austin in the backfield, Rams WR's will become household names.

Let me say this:

Based upon the immediate pre and post draft personas of Goff and Wentz, I am very much more concerned now with the Goff pick than before draft night.

Goff was alone and looked scared. Deer in the headlights, eyes glassed, not confident he could do it but under immense pressure, scared. After the pick he behaved like Johnny Highball. Like he deserved it and it was all about image. Dismissive of the kid who handed him his hat, cocky, etc.

Wentz was calm and surrounded by family. Chatting, smiling, supported, happy and confident. After his pick he was respectful, humble, and cool as a cucumber. Very much like Warner always was.

I hated seeing that. It lept out at me.

I have a sinking feeling.

Sometimes the humble guys are not the best leaders. A quarterback needs confidence almost to the point of cockiness. Like "I got this".

Proof that anyone can spin anything anyway they want to. Jesus.

I know he played a different position, but anyone remember Aaron Curry? How confident and how easy he made the combine workout look? What's he up to nowadays?

The psychoanalysis from TV shows like Gruden Camp is bad enough. This is even worse. It's looking for something that isn't there.

Maybe they should give Anquan Boldin a call and offer him a place to play. ;)

Need a wr for him to throw it too still....

The nice thing about very accurate throwers like Goff is they make throws even average receivers like our fly guys can handle. If the hair cannot work his magic to get an above average to top tier WR|TE this season, he will have his scouts on full alert scout out all the top fly guys for next draft.

I can think of plenty of college QB that had that cockiness. Johnny Manziel, Ryan Leaf, Matt Leinert and Kerry Collins were all cocky, confident guys. I don't think it makes or breaks a kid to have it or not

Lol, ain't as much excitement as there used to be. We pretty knew who it would be and no picks tomorrow. But we ain't gonna be drafting high for a lot of years. Better get used to picking further down. We ain't drafting in the top 20 anymore.

That's the plan!

GRob has been morphing into Gregzilla this off-season. Jaws is already Jaws and getting even better still. our other young OL guys have been exposed to the fire and are now taking advantage of their first official NFL offseason to morph into a Battering Ram OL, the official body guards for Goff, Gurley, and Austin (sounds like a law firm, doesn't it?).

We still haven't seen the Gurley Express! fully unleashed yet as he is now fully recovered and ready to rumble. Quite frankly, we haven't seen Tavon fully unleashed as yet either. His experience with Sam was too brief and affected by the fact that he was struggling with the playbook at that time. Now he knows his portion of the offense and he has a QB with a Golden Arm who can locate the tiny Tavon needle in the defensive haystack. Is Quickie ready to resume his breakout, first started in the first half of 2014? Is Sted ready to terrorize defensive secondaries with a QB who can hit him in stride with his slight separations while he muscles with CB's for the rock? We can use a TE who can catch, or we can just let the Gurley Man run some deep TE routes and let his terrorize the secondary after the catch.

It's about what happens on the field and Goff wins there.

Damn am I out of it. I didn't even know they had taken NFL snaps yet!

And there's probably some 7th round DT who was more social, personable, and likable than Aaron Donald was. Who gives a crap?

Sorry dude, Goff looked scared. I give a crap because we aren't talking about sociable or likeable, we're talking about scared under pressure. May not mean anything in the end, but it's not what you want to see.

to be fair this 21 year old kid has just realised his life dream of being drafted to play in the NFL ...and not just drafted but no 1 overall ...by a team that liked him so much they jumped from 15 to 1 ....he was probably taking it all in and relishing the moment

now don't get me wrong I wanted wentz to but im just as happy to have Goff and #16 is our guy

I'll be routing for Goff, it's just the contrast of him and Wentz lept off the screen.

Exactly what Wentz had the whole time and Goff adopted after. Just my observation.

No spin, just an observation. Go watch again and you'll see it to.

My god people, chill.

He looked scared and alone, is anyone saying he didn't?! Wentz looked confident and supported, is anyone saying otherwise?!

I didn't like the obvious contrast, and I don't care at all what anyone thinks about it. That doesn't mean I'm trashing the kid or won't support him.

I didn't see any of that, but maybe he's just not comfortable with all the attention. Or maybe he's just not much of a public speaker. There are plenty of people who are introverts off the field, and great performers on it. Nothing about his actual on-the-field play leads me to believe he's afraid of pressure situations, and that's really all that matters in the end.

Look at my added pictures above.

I agree, it may mean nothing, but if you were to choose one look under stress, which would it be.

Of course maybe Wentz was on Oxycodone and had no idea where he was. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I noticed this look on Goff face too, It was just before the Pick was made by the Rams. I thought " He's scared because he really wants to be the #1 Pick NOT #2!" At least that's what I read into it!:D
