Having been born out in California, I started out as a Dodger fan (and Rams of course). But then I moved to Louisville in 1970, and I got hooked watching the Cincinnati Reds. ( the heyday of The Big Red Machine). I now live in the south and have been following the Reds ever since and, of course, have stayed loyal to the Rams.

That's cool. It's a shame they won't let Pete in the HOF?

As a nipper we moved from London to LA for my old man's work. As such I support the LA Dodgers. I also supported the LA Rams and stuck by them when they moved to St. Louis. I had a tough upbringing!!

St. Louis Cardinals for me. I grew up in the 90's watching guys like Ray Lankford and Mark McGwire take the field for the team, watching Tony LaRussa manage the team. And then the 2000 years...Darryl Kile (still one of my favorite Cardinal players), Matt Morris, Jim Edmonds, Scott Rolen, Placido Polanco, Larry Walker, Reggie Sanders, and - of course - The Machine, Albert Pujols. I saw Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright pitch gems in the 2006 WS. I saw Wainwright's famous curveball catch Carlos Beltran looking. I saw Jocketty's reign end and Mozeliak's reign begin. I saw the youth movement come full force. I saw the Holliday trade, the signings of Beltran and Lance Berkman, the trade of Colby Rasmus that directly led us to clinching a WS in 2011 - along with David Freese's heroics. And I still watch them today, catching every game that I can.

Can't stand the Yankees but sure can get behind your rationale.

I was a huge Dodgers fan when I was a little kid. Garvey, Lopes, Russell, Cey, Baker, Yeager...
Even had a little book on how to throw a curve ball, written by Don Sutton, and implemented it in little league.

Then, as I got older, I stopped caring about baseball in favor of playing football.
Really don't watch much baseball anymore.

Let me guess, lost interest in baseball at the age of 13 or 14?

Pretty much. Around the time I started JV Football.
Very very common. Most of the kids I coached in LL dropped out around then to pursue, football, basketball, vagina, etc. And that's about the age where coaches forget about kids having fun and go all out to win all the time so if you are not one of the top 9 guys, you ride the pine ALL the time and lose interest and go snake the other player's girlfriends. ;)

Atlanta Braves! Started following them in the early 80s when they were regularly shown on WTBS. They were bad then, but I kept rooting for them. I stay with my teams through thick and thin.

The Birds, of course.

And they are taking it to the Brew Crew as I type this.

6-1 heading to the bottom of the 9th!
