Have you read David McCullough's biography on Truman?

It's brilliant, and there is a lot of great stuff about how the nuclear decision was made. I recommend it.

No, but thanks for the recommendation. I read another book by McCullough (The Great Bridge) and enjoyed it very much. Will definitely look into his Truman bio.

It's worht it, it's really great but that said The Path Between the Seas might be his best, it's about the Panama Canal. I got both from my father and was glad I did.

I have considered reading The Great Bridge but I don't seem to read like I used to. Maybe I should wise up and read that.

I'll spend the day with my wife. Treat her really nice and tell her how much more she means to me than watching the superbowl.

Basically it's spending the day racking up good hubby points for future use. (y)

It will kill me to do it but I will be for the SeaTurds that day. I hope Tommy likes eating grass because I'm thinking he'll be chowing down on a lot of it that day.

And Giselle won't have Wes Welker to throw brickbats at after the game is over.

Might be Tommy Boy's last hoorah; he's 38 now. Or at least I can hope it's his last hoorah. . .

It would suck, but I'd root for Seattle. Never will I root for the Patriots (Unless they're playing the 49ers)

Hope Seattle wins, I have my moments hating the Seahawks but they had my sympathies back when they played in the AFC West. The identity they have from personnel, drafting, and coaching staff is impressive. My hopes for Fisher and Snead is to exceed what Carroll and Schneider did.

But some squares and hope I win some money.

Then hope we become as good as they are

Pats are my least favorite team. I can't stand the Seahawks fans almost as much and I might go insane if I have to hear about everyday. But I'll still watch it, I love football to much to not watch it. I'll just have a few drinks to ease the pain.

I wouldn't watch, but I didn't watch the last few years either.

I would "root" for NE though. I hate them, but I don't need to give Seattle another ring, because it won't matter how far they fall, they'll always hold it over us until we win 3, and if we win another they'll still get us about not repeating.

Just no, I don't want to give those assholes more bragging rights

If those were my choices, here's what I wish for:

The Patriots winning in controversial fashion, thus allowing me to commiserate with my co-workers on how they were robbed*. Besides, why shouldn't they feel our misery?

In no uncertain terms would I ever be able to handle the shecocks winning 2-straight SBs. I just wouldn't be able to deal with it.

*I've laid the groundwork by telling just about everyone at work about how the Rams were robbed in SB36.

Seattle easy

I've said before, there's mutual respect between the rams and Seattle, no one plays them as hard as we do.

Patriots can go fuk themselves

We had an identical thread last year. I said I would throw an "Anything BUT the Superbowl Party" and have a Married with Children marathon in the background, haha.

As much as I hate Seattle I would prefer them to win VS the Pats I would probably root for a team from North Korea before pulling for the Pats. Or I may overdose on Viagra and abuse the wife for the afternoon/evening.

I've pretty much stopped watching super bowls since SB36. I just don't believe anymore.

I predict that you will hear your sleigh bell jingle again next season, you will believe again!

Applaud the two teams for consistently being able to put together impressive seasons whilst we haven't been able to put together a .500 season for a decade?
