I’m a glutton for punishment. Go cards
--------------
I hope the Cardinals win, but... The more likely outcome is we get destroyed and Bradford gets both his legs broken off.
-----------
watching the raiders/rams...gruden has a perfect gameplan for rams d...tough runs, quick passes-crossing routes to te and a couple of deep shots-to me sounds kinda like what we thought cards were gonna do on offense..

this is how cards beat rams

-ol must play great

-McCoy must have larry and rsj run crossers and seam routes

-there must be some 50/50 balls thrown larrys way

-dj and Edmunds have to get some short passes but dj should run some of the deeper wheel routes that he excels at

-dl has got to play their gaps and Reddick and buc must do a better job at outside containment

-its time for some exotic blitzes-cj cant do it all

-dbs have gotta tackle

-pp should be able to handle brandin cook so other dbs have to handle rush and woods

-special teams must produce 2 big plays

-must win turnover battle

-hopefully cards feel angry and embarrassed and will play with a mean^%$S attitude

-imho cards should take ball if they win toss...falling behind will spell disaster
-------------
They are bringing in linebackers and tight ends in for workouts. I wonder who. Hmmmmn I hope it’s bowman
------------
Wilks' losing to the Ramz and going 0-2 to start the 2018 season doesn't have to happen. But....over 80% of the Vegas money says he will lose.
-------------
It's time for us to go back to a 3/4 and man press coverage. CJ and PP won't look absolutely lost. Get Rosen his first start and figure out a way to get the ball down the field. If you have to split DJ out wide and get Nelson on the field do it.

It's time to stop making it easy on the opposition. Bradford will retire both LF and DJ if given a chance. We have to make the Rams cover more room and we have to allow CJ to get off the ball and rush Goff.

Our OL doesn't completely suck. Rosen is the franchise. Get him in until he proves he's not ready. Everyone knows Bradford isn't the answer including the players, the organization and now the fans. This franchise needs a straight out bolt of electricity rammed right up their collective butts. Wilks can either define himself as a company man and loser or he can look at the tape and make the adjustments needed to try and turn this sinking ship around.

Anyone thinking this team is beating the Rams dinking and dunking the ball down the field with Bradford and without CJ having a monster game is out of their minds.
--------------
That Rams pass rush will be too much. Carr wasnt getting any time in the pocket so you damn well know they will be up in Bradfords grill. Cole is gonna have his hands full with Donald. Pray Bradford's legs dont fall off this Sunday.
--------------
https://www.arizonasportsfans.com/f...-cards-coming-sunday-to-a-tv-near-you.280391/

Sunday’s game between the Cards and Rams will look like a fight between an 8th grader and a 3rd grader.

I honestly will be shocked if midway through the 3rd the Card faithful have all turned the slaughter off.

Wilks quote of the day, ‘guys were trying to do too much.’ Yea not the total ineptitude of the coaching staff to call plays that might actually work.

The only hope the Cards got is the Rams are tired from the MNF game.
-------------
Donald and Suh may hasten the Rosen era.
----------
We will learn all we need to know about the 2018 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. I'm not gonna lie. I already have this as an L, but what I need to see is some damn pride and fight out of the team.

This season's not over, but if they play like they played on Sunday, we know to cool any talk of playoffs, and a surprise run at a chip. (see Philadelphia eagles) Everyone expects us to get mopped, but prepraration and pride make a huge difference. Ask the Bucs.
-----------
As of right now, Ryan Fitz-Magic > Sam Boring-ford.
-----------
100% agree! If Sam and Co don't show any movement Sunday vs the Rams....which is a tall order....It's time to cut bait and see what the future holds. Worst case we give Sam through the Bears game...if they're 0-3....call it quits then and it's Rosen time.

I'd be interested to see the odds on the Rams game....guessing Rams +13, but I'd put it at Rams +20.

Cardinals are gonna need to find a lamp that offers three wishes to change this season around.
-----------
opening line on cbs sports is 10... seems low to me
-----------
Rams by 14 at Yahoo. Not sure where they get their line. WOW. 2-touchdown NFL lines are rare nowadays, usually involving somebody like Cleveland.
-----------
Worst thing is I'm going to have to watch the game with my Rams fan buddy I grew up with that I see basically twice a year to watch the games. He'll be calling soon. He's alot easier to get a hold of now that the shoe has switched feet.
-----------
https://www.revengeofthebirds.com/2...d-rams-at-raiders-game-time-channel-streaming

I will watch the Rams game and see if we should start praying now
-----------

I am seeing a blueprint for playing these guys:
run-heavy schemes to take Donald and Suh off the game they want and play best.

Of course, having a great OL to grade the road and two powerful backs does help.

But PI killing the Raiders so far. Curse that spot-of-foul! Lousy calls too.
--------------
Watching the raiders and rams offense
Makes me sad. I don’t think i saw one creative offensive play by McCoy and Bradford. I hope the cards offensive coaching staff are watching these games and taking notes
-------------
Frosty Rucker is getting mauled by the Rams
-------------

I noticed that the Ram's repeat the same play over and over.
Wilks needs to watch the tape.
-------------
Well. Time to skip this Sunday.
They are going to get demolished.
-------------
I didn't think the Rams looked all that
It was a tied game until the last second of Q3.

They looked weak at LB, and at the Edge. They couldn’t cover TE. A bit like us on Sunday but not as awful.
------------
Rams were just slow out of the gate due to resting their starters most of preseason
They throttled Oakland in the 2nd half. Raiders had something like 17 total yards in the 3rd quarter. Too much talent on the Rams. I don’t see another team winning the division.
----------
They throttled them in Q3 as well, Oakland had 17 total yards and the Rams outscored them 10-0
Yeah the Rams have some weaknesses but the same can be said about any team. I still see the Rams winning at least 10 games and the division. I don’t think the division runner-up will have more than 8 wins.

Yeah genius. And in the 2nd half we went 23-0. Ohhh and Bradfords legs will most likely fall off by the 1st qtr...Swear these cards fans can be delusional.

Certainly pales in comparison to Raider fans, I'll give them that

That was a real worry under Fisher where we made a habit of winning games we shouldn’t and losing games we should win.

That is not a worry under McBae. He respects EVERY opponent and prepares accordingly.

yep. Mcvay calls every team a “very tough opponent that presents some real challenges”.

Half the time i laugh. But the Respect is the right mind site. Take it a notch down and you can get “humbled real quick” as mcvay likes to say.

Bradford has no passion and is not the future of this team, but he can be a veteran back-up to the young rookie and collect his $15 Mil. Anyways, that my take but I have a feeling we are going to keep seeing Bradford until he breaks (which could be this week if Donald looks at him wrong).
-------------
Nobody is expecting a W against Rams
We are just expecting to not get humiliated again.
-------------
Not expecting a win this week against the Rams so at least we won’t be disappointed?
--------------
Its one thing to lose a game because the other team is more talented. Think of the second Rams game last year. That team was just more talented than the Cardinals team and no amount of scheming or play calling was going to neutralize that. It is a whole different Kettle of fish to lose b/c the team was out coached and out schemed. That is what is so frustrating.
--------------
Bradford wasn't a surprise
This is the same Bradford I remember leading those punchless Rams teams earlier this decade.
--------------
Bradford is a HORRIBLE QB.
-------------
Sam Bradford has ZERO fire in his belly.
You could tell it by his demeanor on the sideline. Time to start Rosen now. It’s not like Bradford is gonna lead the Cards to the playoffs. Bradford has already achieved his goal. He got paid well.
-------------

Defense
have to stop the run and figure out new sets, especially when we face gurley next week he will run all over us if we do the same thing obviously

I would not be surprised if Bradfords knee starts swelling as soon as he starts watching film of our DL. By Sunday he wont be able to walk and Rosen will be forced to start and the Rams ruin another Arizona QBs season.

«Give Rosen his first start»

BY ALL MEANS give your rookie QB his very first start with Donald Suh Brockers in his face and Peters and Talib in the backfield. Please please traumatize that kid early so he doesn't turn into a legit franchise QB.

Arizona Cardinals opened as 10-point underdogs, now up to 12.5 points according to Las Vegas
The Cardinals opened as huge underdogs and the spread has gotten even bigger.
By Seth Cox

usa_today_10471158.0.jpg

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Everyone expected this to be a rough week for the Arizona Cardinals and it showed with the Vegas books.

The Cardinals opened as 10-point underdogs to the Los Angeles Rams.

Well, after one week in the NFL season, and a bad performance from the Cardinals, coupled with a complete demolition in the second half of the Raiders by the Rams and now the Cardinals sit at 12.5 point underdogs on most sites, and as high as 14-point dogs on some sites.

That’s what happens in the NFL.

Lines are set pretty conservatively in week one and then when Vegas feels like they get to know teams a little bit, they are a little more aggressive with their lines in the oncoming weeks.

Well many feel, myself included, like we did not learn much about the Cardinals in week one, the sharps (betting experts) feel like we have more than enough information to know that a 10-point opening line is an easy bet to win. That’s why money is going so heavily early on the Rams to not only win, but cover a two score spread.

Now, we are seeing sites like 5 Dimes and Sport Bet have the spread as high as 14-points.

The money is on the Rams early, and I am not entirely sure I disagree.
------------------
I wish
If we only lose by 14 I’ll be mildly pleased.

Seeing as we lost by 17 at home to a much worse Redskins.
-----------------
I predict Rosen will be in by halftime.
The Rams have a knack for putting our QBs out for significant time every year. Why will this game be any different?
--------------
Blowout
Hate to say it, but Im predicting the game to be out of reach by halftime. Cards are really struggling in all phases now and the Rams are a complete team, one of the NFL’s best. All LA has to do is give Gurley the ball over and over again.

No way the Cards can stop him if they couldn’t stop AP. LA gonna be pullin starters by end of 3rd. Maybe by the time we play ’em again later this season things will be different. Hope so

Maybe Sam Bradford isn't even the QB he used to be..

A Lot of people are arguing that Sam Bradford was never going to be good etc... I think he was a decent QB in the past really, even if he threw too many short passes. The problem is, all of his injuries might have put a toll on him, if he had an inclination to get rid of the ball a little too early before, he might even be more that way now.

Psychologically he may now always be concerned about getting hurt again. It has happened to a lot of potentially good QB up and comers whose careers plummeted after getting sacked too much. We may see the same with Sam.
--------------
It seemed like every pass he was more concerned about getting his uncooked spaghetti thin legs hit than throwing an accurate pass & getting hit
-------------
His performance last night made me wish for John Skelton.
------------
That was the worst game I've ever seen Sam play.
-----------
He was exactly the QB yesterday he’s been his entire career.
-----------
Bradford played awful, and I'd say Bradford is merely average or slightly below. Personally, I never was afraid of him as a Ram, I was bummed when they gave up on him. To me, he can move the ball decently between the 20's... but he closer the defense gets to the line of scrimmage, the more he struggles.

He doesn't even try to beat teams over the top, he looks for quick reads and nothing else. Seeing as our receiving corps isn't exactly a 'yards after catch' group, I expect a lot of 4 yard completions on 3rd and long
------------
He looked super rusty to me on his reads and throws yesterday. Considering the man hasn't played a real NFL game in a year I think this is to be expected.
----------
1) stat king Sammy Checkdown
2) low yards per attempt
3) questionable downfield accuracy
4) bad winning %
-----------
Welcome to the new Cleveland.
-----------
I don't think it's going to matter much who the Cardinals field at QB. This is just a small step removed from Jeff Fisher football.
-----------
Accuracy was there. Velocity wasn't. WRs were hung out to dry and responded by dropping a majority of throws.

Gotta wonder- Was Bradford taking something off his passes to compensate for stone-handed WRs?
-----------
What surprises me is that Bradford didn't show better. He has to know his next job is on the line and if there's one thing that Bradford has been great at, it's setting up that next contract. I really wonder where his head is right now? If he's going to stink it up that badly, he may have retirement on his mind.
----------
Bradford can be aggressive once he gets comfortable but he's rarely comfortable. I was pretty disappointed with this first game. I suppose it's understandable since it's a new offense, new QB, new receivers, hurt TE, etc.
----------
Let's be fair though. The majority of his career was with Jeff Fisher and Steve Spagnuolo and a host of nobody OC's and personnel. It doesn't excuse everything but it does make a difference. Look at Goff in '16 compared to '17. Sadly, I think Bradford is back in that type of situation.

There is some top talent on the Cardinals but McCoy's scheme and playcalling is atrocious. I don't see how he's going to put Bradford in a position to succeed. Bradford has warts but he can be productive if used properly. McCoy won't be able to do that IMO.
-------------------
Should the Cardinals start Josh Rosen against the Rams?
