Jonathon Vilma said during the broadcast that outside of Aaron Donald, the Rams' defense was garbage. He didn't use that word, but that's what he meant. And he was right. Both the Bears and the Colts dominated time of possession, repeatedly drove the length of the field and punted very few times. The Bears and Colts aren't the Bucs or the Chiefs. This high school defensive scheme will be destroyed by upper echelon teams.

I’d say hold your Horses & quit getting ahead of yourself.

I’m being serious as well here.Raheem has always been straight up.He basically has said he doesn’t give a - blank blank blank about being a number 1 defense & he is not worried about the critiques.

On one of his last interviews he almost wanted to go after one of them with how he feels about what Fans think besides winning.

He stated he was actually glad The Rams defense was facing adversity on that David Long INT.

I just know The Rams coaching staff works hard & improves players. I Still LMFAO with ALL The REEDER HATERS!!
He came in last year under Staley with Kenny replacing Micah Kiser.All he did was start at MLB & contribute to making The Rams defense #1.Then Sunday the Bug INT at the 3 yard line.

My point being we don’t know how this will play out,but anyone who is doubting Mcvay & Morris’s relationship as coach with such mutual respect have a BLIND EYE to what is going on.

If Raheem Morris is pay attention to what fans are saying he is a complete failure as a hire and we need him gone ASAP. Also, seriously? A DC is glad an offense was 1st and goal on our side of the field? Do you really want a DC who enjoys that? SMH.

If our defense plays like it did the first two weeks next week we will for sure be beat, I pray somehow McVay shakes up Morris or the defense like he did the ST’s a while back.

Staley lost on defense last week against Dallas at SOFI. I’ll say Fangio is 2-0 to start the season.Staley has to face him twice.
Maybe they go 0-0 , 0-0? 10 quarters of scoreless ball.To bad there is special teams & thin air at Mile High.The 64 yarder isn’t off limits. Is it Dempsey or Greg the leg that has the record ? 3 way tie with a HOF Denver kicker? - Just to set the records straight.

Listen to 11 Personnel Podcast... Jourdan goes into the differences in the defense. Basically says it's a matter of new guys taking up new spots and Morris refining the system a tad more (which I think is code for doing what he's doing but being slightly more aggressive).

I think - aside from the new players at new spots - that the system is working as it should but that Staley was perhaps a slightly more aggressive playcaller. And that slight difference creates a huge difference in outcome.

Listen to the SJD69 questions by her.She has some well thought out questions. He said after the game he & Ad99 were mad about there play.Both said the missed a Sack & a TFL. Carson Wentz he said was slithery & hard to bring down.
Sunday will be a tough challenge,but the defense it excited about the game.

I think you’re a bit confused what each teams are using as their base D. Brandon Staley as per the ‘ Fangio D ‘ which is a 5-1 with a 2 high shell.

If you watch Raheem Morris he consistently playing the concepts of a soft cover 2 defense with us so far this year. If you watch the preseason games with us playing ‘vanilla’ that es a lot of our base.

These are two different defenses, schemes, and responsibilities given different positions. The cover 2 concept D has been out of date 15 years or so. This was my big concern hiring Raheem Morris because his D in Atlanta was shit not learning to adapt.

I don’t think we beat the Bucs for this reason. I’m surprised with the hire from McVay who generally hires pretty good staff.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but in all reality we rank 12th in total yards and 8th in overall points allowed. Already a far cry from 1st or 2nd ranks we enjoyed last year, and to two decently middle of the pack offenses. This is why so many of us are concerned.

Against legitimate top tier offenses like the Bucs next week and Green Bay etc. There won’t be any okay I’ll let you get into the 1st and goal and no scoring will happen. You can’t give Hall of Fame players that opportunity.

ps David Long Jr. Is in his 3rd year about the year I expected him to start shining.

I think the SOFI stadium DOME is falling with all those Tom Brady’s weapons going to go off. I’d say just to be SAFE because McvY is writhing the ship that is sinking play TAMPA BAY over 30. I do know Red the Center is Brady’s protector.AD99 has no chance either unless he is linen up to the wide edge of the guard.

Morris needs to go.If he doesn’t get a HC job The Rams are doomed forever.I think Mcvay is still in bed with him from there Tampa Days. Maybe Tampa will put up 55 again like in 2019 under Wade.The Rams we’re 3-0 lossing at home. To think Brian Allen is still a Ram & the starting Center.

I was under the impression that Morris was going to keep the defense basically the same and add his own tweaks to it.

Most coaches at most levels are not all encompassing great coaches.
Most have “their” scheme.
They know it inside and out.
But, they coach that scheme and that’s it.
See Wade coming to the Rams and switching to a 3/4 even though the Rams has a pretty good 4/3 roster.
Why?
Because that’s what Wade coaches.
This is always the hard part with changes....matching personal to the new guys scheme.
The Rams matched pretty well player wise with what Morris wants to do.
I’m not sold on Morris either way at this point.
Some stuff has been good and some stuff not.
It’s too early to judge at this point.
Tampa and Arizona provide two different but very challenging tests the next two weeks.

I never thought Kenny Young would be basically playing MLB with CB’s playing LBer(Nickle, dime) type packages. I can see Earnest Brown being that guy in the future.
What I like is certain rotations & he will change things up.I’m basically totally talking out my Azz though,because I haven’t watched much of the Colts game.I’m just defending Morris on his relationship with Sean Mcvay.
My main point is Sean Mcvay is ALL in with Raheem Morris. The PLAYERS are ALL in with him.They hold themselves accountable which is Really COOL as a long time Fan.I saw Kevin Green play which ever postition The Rams needed.He would get beat,but he always found away of making Big Plays.I can go back throughout times with JL55 & his career or a Chris Long.
Still just another RAMble.2-0 & really want to see what player is going to step up this Sunday.Chris Garrett might get some Reps. I think he should play on the Right Side.I also like Terrell Lewis & Troy Reeder.
I guess I’ll have to stop posting about the defense until next week with more INFO .
