Fangio’s scheme has been McVay’s kryptonite for a while now. Belichek used some of the concepts in the SB to throttle the Rams. Staley had the #1 defense in football last year, so what’s going on ? Last year the Rams had zero backs rush for a hundred yards, this year 2 in 2 games. Last year Staley had the #1 defense in his first year with no off season, imagine what he can do with Bosa and Derwin James. The Cowboys rushed for 200 yds and had 450 yds of offense. Should the rams and chargers be getting nervous about their defenses?

Colts didn't have a 100 yard rusher, they were averaging less than 4 yards a carry with their backs.

Chargers also don't have the talent on defence that we had, James and Bosa wish they could be Ramsey and Donald.

Rams need to tighten up their defence (I have no idea about the Chargers, don't pay attention to them) but overall I don't think they're worried, especially this early into the season. Our guys were in the Colts backfield quite a bit, Carson is just a slippery fella. A pocket passer who isn't as good at shedding tackles probably would have gone down a lot more that game.

I think you’re a bit confused what each teams are using as their base D. Brandon Staley as per the ‘ Fangio D ‘ which is a 5-1 with a 2 high shell.

If you watch Raheem Morris he consistently playing the concepts of a soft cover 2 defense with us so far this year. If you watch the preseason games with us playing ‘vanilla’ that es a lot of our base.

These are two different defenses, schemes, and responsibilities given different positions. The cover 2 concept D has been out of date 15 years or so. This was my big concern hiring Raheem Morris because his D in Atlanta was shit not learning to adapt.

I don’t think we beat the Bucs for this reason. I’m surprised with the hire from McVay who generally hires pretty good staff.

Non quarterback runs accounted for 72 yards and under 3.5 yards per carry. Tell me again how bad we were?

Ask the Detroit Lions & Jared Goff ? I’d say The Rams are 2-0 & they are
0-2. I think The Rams defense is pretty solid. I still have not seen the whole game though.

I’ll disagree & continue to say Raheem Morris was an excellent hire.
I also think Sean Mcvay is more interested into the defensive scheme more than he ever has been.
The young depth should continue to get better, but this week will be another test.If nothing else it makes the games more exciting. Lol

I was under the impression that Morris was going to keep the defense basically the same and add his own tweaks to it.

Not being a smart ass here, but do you seriously think a guy who has coached his entire life under one system is not going to come in with that effectively and not put a huge influence on the D opposed to what Staley did last year?

Also, what kind of outrage would there be with Morris was known to be coming in trying to change everything in regards to the number 1 defense from last year? Of course they are going to say “ we’ll just add some tweaks”

It took a bit for our D last year to get going at the start of the season yes, but last year and this year there is a huge difference as opposed to gelling together and a scheme getting beat down against two lesser offenses.

I'm just worried that we'll let Tampa stay close throughout the game, and only win by one TD....

Are you convinced after just two games that Morris/McVay can't or won't adjust their gameplans accordingly to our oppositions strengths ?
Has Morris already shown all his cards, ... I doubt it.

Depends on how much success he’s had running his system, the fact that Staley had the #1 defense in his first stint as a coordinator and that Fangio shut down the offense that was torching the nfl might have gotten Morris’ attention. The Shanahan/ McVay offense is proliferating why shouldn’t the Fangio/Staley defense?

You fail to understand how NFL coaches work, 90% of them do THEIR own system and what they’ve learned and were raised in. It’s very rare to have an adaptable coach that adapts and incorporates multiple systems into his scheme overall. Yes maybe a few things but a limited amount of those of the predecessor.

Last year he had the defense with 4th most yards given up and had the 8th most Red Zone TD %.

That doesn’t smell like championship football to me. If our Offense falters we aren’t going to be able to relay on this defensive scheme.

Just because that would make the most sense doesn't mean that's what's happening.:laugh1:
Ask Jalen Rams how he feels About Raheem Morris. Not a bad way to
Close out the game.
For all the doubters they can kiss his game balls. At least one of them so far this season. Praise the Lord & God bless you all after his interview as well.
If you take a step back from the magnifying glass you might see the Bigger Picture. 2-0’baby.

Here is an addition for Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Jonathon Vilma said during the broadcast that outside of Aaron Donald, the Rams' defense was garbage. He didn't use that word, but that's what he meant. And he was right. Both the Bears and the Colts dominated time of possession, repeatedly drove the length of the field and punted very few times. The Bears and Colts aren't the Bucs or the Chiefs. This high school defensive scheme will be destroyed by upper echelon teams.

I’d say hold your Horses & quit getting ahead of yourself.

I’m being serious as well here.Raheem has always been straight up.He basically has said he doesn’t give a - blank blank blank about being a number 1 defense & he is not worried about the critiques.

On one of his last interviews he almost wanted to go after one of them with how he feels about what Fans think besides winning.

He stated he was actually glad The Rams defense was facing adversity on that David Long INT.

I just know The Rams coaching staff works hard & improves players. I Still LMFAO with ALL The REEDER HATERS!!
He came in last year under Staley with Kenny replacing Micah Kiser. All he did was start at MLB & contribute to making The Rams defense #1.Then Sunday the Bug INT at the 3 yard line.

My point being we don’t know how this will play out,but anyone who is doubting Mcvay & Morris’s relationship as coach with such mutual respect have a BLIND EYE to what is going on.

Well you better get to VEGAS!!!

I think the SOFI stadium DOME is falling with all those Tom Brady’s weapons going to go off. I’d say just to be SAFE because McvY is writhing the ship that is sinking play TAMPA BAY over 30. I do know Red the Center is Brady’s protector.AD99 has no chance either unless he is linen up to the wide edge of the guard.

can I get some Blue Font somewhere?
Morris needs to go.If he doesn’t get a HC job The Rams are doomed forever.I think Mcvay is still in bed with him from there Tampa Days. Maybe Tampa will put up 55 again like in 2019 under Wade. The Rams we’re 3-0 lossing at home. To think Brian Allen is still a Ram & the starting Center.
