I appreciate that they cast weird looking kids to play people from the 80s. As a child of the late 80s I can attest, everyone was weird looking.
Occult symbology all over that show too. Makes sense give the subject matter.
11 is a big occult number.
In Crowley's magick system it represents equality....two sides equal....it's why 11 is hard to determine sex....part male and female....light/dark etc.
Because of this balance 11 is a gateway between worlds. A bridge that being or take things between spiritual worlds. It's why that character is made to look neither overly male or female.
Sort of an interesting show.
Season 2 seemed almost an entirely different show from season 1. Cant say I enjoyed it as much....

I don't watch much tv besides sports and the occasional movie. My wife has been binge watching. She doesn't like horror, so the only series that have caught my eye are The Good Place and A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Good Place is a sitcom starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson about a woman who wakes up after dying in heaven for her good deeds - except she's a sleaze. But she tries to become a better person. Across the first two seasons there are numerous plot twists which I won't go into. Ted Danson is hilarious in it.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is hilarious, starring Neil Patrick Harris and featuring a ton of guest stars, based on the 13 novels about 3 orphans being pursued by an evil bad actor for their inheritance.

I loved Stranger Things. The second season was not nearly as good as the first, but I didn't want to stop watching the first.

The Flash. My kid started watching this on Netflix. It's a pretty good show, but I have seen all three season that Netflix has, three times this winter. I'm ready for season four

Amazon shows:
Bosch-
Great show, cant wait for the new season next week
Tin Star- seriously dark stuff, Tim Roth is just, man, dark.....
Sneaky Pete- meh
Goliath- Awesome
Banshee- Awesome, terrible ending
Justified- Awesome, terrible ending

Netflix shows:
Travellers season 2-
Not as good as season 1, serious plot flaw IMO
Godless- Flat out loved this show
Black Mirror season 3- Watched a couple episodes, material not even close to as good as season 1 & 2
Santa Clarita Diet season 2- Loved season 1, just not in to season 2. Watched a couple episodes and not drawn back in
Longmire- Thought after watching Godless I would be all in on a Western theme, but to no avail
Altered Carbon- I like it, way too cerebral though. I like the basic gist of it, but too many layers IMO. I don't need to concentrate this much on my entertainment.....

I pretty much agree on everything here. It's funny reading your comments. It's like you read my mind. Especially on Altered Carbon. It felt like I had to take notes. I gave it up.

The Expanse
The first couple of episodes are basically world building and kind of tough to sit through but the series takes off. No energy shields, no death rays, no flashy hyper drives, no aliens (for the most part) more people, missiles/kinetic weapons, blood and the vacuum of space . . . .

Oh yeah, SPACE MORMONS!

Justified- Awesome, terrible ending

Man, I have to respectfully but strongly disagree with you on the underlined portion. Season 6 of Justified was possibly the best final season of any show I've ever watched, and the series finale - especially that last scene between Raylan and Boyd - was just freakin' epic. I've been disappointed with the final seasons of many shows - The Sopranos, Mad Men, etc. - but Justified Season 6 didn't disappoint in the slightest.

BTW, if you want to read a true story upon which the plot of Season 4 was based, check this out:

Drew Thompson = Drew Thornton ... although the former had a better ending to be sure.

Ditto everything TSFH said - The Expanse is bloody awesome, and the best sci-fi series I've ever seen. It's certainly the most faithful to real-world physics and does not descend into the unfathomable magic and unrealistic portrayal of human nature that the various Star Trek series or Star Wars movies do. It's just a couple hundred years into the future and takes place in this solar system so it's very plausible - and it's got great characters.

I've been reading the novels upon which the series is based and can confirm they are excellent as well. The show so far follows the same story arcs as the books, although there are differences in some of the details. But since the authors of the books are intimately involved in the writing for the show, those differences do nothing to detract and sometimes enhance things, owing to the fact that some things work better for TV while other things work better in book format.

Definitely check it out.

I get it that the character was not meant to be so dam likable, but he was. And I just don't see why they had to leave Raylan just broken. His ex moved on again despite him doing what he had promised all along. Felt like he was the loser in the whole game. On the bright side, the did leave the door open for more. *Just in case*
The dialogue in that show was just incredible, and Boyd was the most likable "bad guy" possibly in TV history....
In any event, thanks for the heads up on The Expanse, been looking for something to binge.
Just finished Bosch season 4 and am depressed it will be a year before I see it again....

You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

I’ve been trying to get in to The Expanse but I had to tap out. Just didn’t draw me in and way too many plot lines for me.

I'm glad I found this thread. A lot of good info about some series I'll have to check out.

Breaking Bad - The only show, since maybe childhood, where I watched every episode as it first aired. Best I've ever watched.
Justified - Great show, great ending.
Rectify - Different kind of show. Kind of slow paced. I liked it, but haven't watch the lasts few episodes yet.
The Americans - My wife and I binged the first 4 seasons over the last 3-4 weeks until we caught up to the final season (only 3 or 4 episodes left). I've really liked this show. We'll see how it ends.
Black Mirror - Agree with others here. It's a really good and interesting series.
Stranger Things - I liked season 1 too. I haven't got through season 2. Kind of lost interest.
Goliath - Just watched the 1st 2 episodes and I'm hooked. Will probably watch a couple more tonight. Looks to be really good.
AHS - I've liked some seasons, and quit on others.
Lost In Space - HaHa. It's not nearly as campy as the original, but still a little campy. I've watched 2-3 episodes. May watch more, but it's not high on the TV priority list.
I'm not really into comic book (I mean graphic novel) based shows, at least not yet.
I'll definitely give Bosch and The Expanse a try.

Yup, it's a slow starter. I wouldn't have stuck it out if it wasn't for SYFY, way back, making the first 4 episodes available online all at once.

As a critic said:
I settled into a comfy chair, prepared to be blown away.

Then I promptly fell asleep. . . it's widely known The Expanse gets off to a really, really slow start. The series begins with multiple, unrelated story lines in far-flung locations from a space station by an astroid belt, a mining ship and Earth. It takes a few episodes to build out the vast, complicated world of the show.
https://www.cnet.com/news/the-expan...OS-05-10aaa0b&linkId=51619915#ftag=CAD590a51e

That's a shame because, make no mistake, it absolutely qualifies as a series that lives up to this peak TV era we're enjoying. The Sopranos hit the mafia genre, Mad Men gave us a dose of '60s era nostalgia, Game of Thrones fills the fantasy bucket, and Westworld serves the mystery/intellectual/soft sci-fi area. Like all of those, The Expanse is special, balancing prestige television drama with hardcore space sci-fi epic that makes it the successor to the Battlestar Galactica remake and Star Trek.
Like these other, denser shows, The Expanse takes a while to get going. But once you start to get comfortable with the different story lines, the show is straight-up addictive. And remember how everyone freaked when different characters in Game of Thrones started meeting up or reuniting with each other after several years? That happens at the beginning of The Expanse's second season and the results are just as satisfying.

But no show is for everyone.

I really liked season 1 of Legion. Season 2 has delved even deeper into the psycho stuff and at times, I must admit, I am confused and a little lost. I think that is part of the intent by the writers but, damn! It feels like a little too much. The last episode had nothing to do with the story. It was just all about alternate timelines. It showed David in so many other possible lives, for an entire show! If they keep pushing it the audience will grow bored. I know I am starting too.

FUTURE MAN on Hulu = 10/10

Directed By: Seth Rogen!!!

Many laugh out loud parts. Really gets rolling by the 2nd half of episode one. It's fully R-rated series. It's like a cross between Deadpool, Terminator and Back to the Future.

There are quotes, scenes and spoofs intertwined into the whole series. You'll get your pulp fiction , Monty Python, Top Gun, Adam 12, Terminator and even Michael Jackson.

I can't say anymore or I will give away to much. If you like Marvel, Deadpool, Back to the Future and the Terminator, you'll drop dead love this series!
