lots around the venue are 60-80 bucks I've read.

Big money in parking lots........doesn't the guy who used to own the Dodgers still own the lots around the ballpark?

Yea he does lol, smart man. I've never seen 80 dollar parking that's nutty.

@Juggs
You already know you are staying in a guestroom at my house. We have talked about it,first we are headed to Crenshaw and Adams for some chef Marilyns or maybe Phillips BBQ and then off to crush the Battery Chuckers.

I have heard that Inglewood is a very bad area - can anyone speak to this? I've never been there (haven't been to Cali since 1994) but work with a guy from the LA area
No. It is not a bad area it's not the Palisades, Malibu or Beverly Hills but it's fine for a Game especially with it's proximity to the freeways. It is a very racially mixed area with a high population of working class African Americans. I will take my family there enjoy a meal at a local eatery and watch the game with the usual caution of any Stadium.
I say attend with confidence and without fear but by all means be logical...........................................................................................................................

(((((LesBaker said:
I bet parking will be 80 bucks like it is in Dallas and NE, at least for the adjacent lots.
Wtf..... they can kick rocks with that bullcrap lol))))).....................................................................
Guys there are ways to do things don't trip brothers.
Public transpo, groups, carpools, park and walk. We got this. It is all in the prep, we make an event out of it.
Hit me up and we will do it right.........

I read a piece on the stadium and there was something said about the glass roof and sections. Something about how the Sun(sunlight) will be causing weird, beautiful, interesting shading inside. That's all well and good but uh...doesn't sound so good relative to the actual football players who are playing football there. Is it going to be JJ Abrahms Field with lens flares blinding the WR's?

I'll try to find that piece and post it.

The roof is not glass it's made out a material called "ETFE". The same material is used for new Vikings stadium and the "Water Cube" in China.

The tree shadow thing is this..

Right yeah i knew that. Actually i'm watching the youtube presentation that Dr Ram posted on page 2. At about the 9:25 mark he speaks about the roof and briefly mentions the design causing "ever changing pattern of shadows as you go throughout the day"

How is that good for football? Just sayin. That sounds really interesting for a day in a park or something to witness as a bystander but that doesn't sound practical for football aesthetics.

Looking at the roof design i'm seeing a field that will look like a moving waffle maker in terms of shadows.

These pictures are also a year old so I'm guessing some things have changed. We shall see soon enough.

The stadium looks like it's designed by GOD. It's all white, it's from the heavens.

It's kinda crazy that there's that much space available in LA to develop but it's there. I bet the ponies a number of times at the track but the horses have been gone for awhile. It would be kinda cool if they kept the casino that's still there but they won't. ;)

Inglewood has gotten a lot better over the years, it's actually become a decent place to find good rent/mortgages... I can only imagine what this will do to property values around the area....

I don't see how that would be an issue, if anything it should give our players an advantage because they'll be used to it.

I disagree. Glare and shadow is what it is when you're a receiver or DB. Remember the old Texas stadium? The big hole in the roof? That was not a practical thing for football players regardless of uniform.
I'll have to look at some of the other newer stadiums and compare the roof architecture. I'm no architect but i hope my amateur(but common sense) observation amounts to nothing.

LA has gotten so much better too
Downtown has been transformed and the 4 times I was there this past year you could see the San Gabriels crystal clear

All those regulations and Prius drivers have made the city look beautiful -- not like how I remember it as little as 2001

It appears that the physical size of the complex and number of people that work there, will both be larger than the city I live in...

Oh yeah, I remember, I moved to LA in 2001 and people were saying then, "Just wait, next year Downtown's really coming up" It only too 10 years!!

This place is going to be just insane Blue. I remember going to a Lakers game a LONG time ago at the Great Western Forum.
Area sucked back then. But by the time this place is done it will be the Disneyland of football.

Yeah when you watch that vid you see how ridiculously over the top it is. Stan is a brilliant developer. Building it in with the condos, park, shopping, movies, not to mention the extras with the stadium with multiple separate functional areas to include NFL offices, studios, and NFL experience space is a stroke of genius. Carson never had a chance, because it was always about the stadium and that other one could not really be compared to it.

Also re: the area... I used to go to Hollywood Park when I was a kid all the time with my grandfather who was into the ponies. Then the Forum later on for Kings and Lakers games. The area is typical LA, in that it is dated and in need of an infusion of capital and it is basically on the other side of the freeway from LAX. So that area in its entirety is going to attract massive capital for reinvigoration now. Those who live there are watching the value of their homes go through the roof, even if they live in a hovel. It is a massive win for the Inglewood area. Just massive.

One thing that will be funny, though, is to see how they plan to keep the bums out. That's gonna be a challenge.
