J. Jenkins they could have had signed last season as well, but allowed him to test the market.Once they hit the market it didn't make sense to sign for high$$ dollars.
They were in contract talks with him for 8 months in 2015 and he was already looking for top 5 corner money then. The same money he was offered by the Giants eventually. So if they wanted to sign him in 2015, it would have cost them roughly what he was gonna get in the open market anyway. He shut those negotiations down - not the Rams. Some players just wanna bet on themselves and then elevate their own play in their contract year to up the asking price. Happens all the time.
Signing Saffold after he left for such a big contract was silly.
Why was it silly to sign him to a contract worth $11M less than the Raiders offered him? His dead money figure next year is manageable, and there's an opt-out clause in the contract as well.

It just gets tiring of the same old BS !! When you lead the league in penalties every season , proves poor coaching.

/QUOTE]
To me this is such an overused phrase, that I quite frankly find to be mostly BS.
Bottom line is, discipline comes from within!
I promise you coaches say and do what they need to in attempt to slow down the flags.

If anything, you can blame Snisher for drafting/signing guys who are not quite mentally 'there' to strive in the NFL. Personally, I like rolling the dice on high risk high reward.

Would have been nice have drafted a player like Derick Carr instead of the smallish Joyner, especially with Bradford coming of injury & contract coming up.

G. Rob pick should have been traded to Buffalo which would have been a gift that kept giving.

Britt vs Austin ? Why not give Kenny a better long term contract ?? Yes The Rams signing of Britt was excellent. He has been a leader grown up to be a solid veteran.--I like Austin but not trading up for him & not a long term deal at this point.--Like you said The Rams have to think about CAP .
D.Easley was a pretty easy decision once NE realized him. They went after Coples for gosh sakes .
Aykers another one of those Titants. I guess Fisher likes players he knows ??

I liked Foles, I like Case. The franchise is totally invested in Jared Goff. I'' m a Rams fan , Fisher losses to many close games.7-9 ?? Of course I think they can go 9-7. Tru Johnson being hurt has really hurt the D''. I have a play for The Rams over 7 1/2.
Dude your the epitamy of the hindsight is 20/20 I told you so guy. Seriously your going to tout off you knew David Carr was going to be anything but a backup during that draft? I really liked him coming out and wasn't high on the Joyner pick but come on... stahp.

I agree on Cook and Finnegan, a case can be made for Austin but I like him as a weapon. Brockers well I think you missed wide right on that one. He's really important to the OL. Him being out has really hurt, especially without Quinn there for a minute too.

I have a hunch we lost McLeod because he wanted out and not because Ram's didn't make him a good offer.

Players LOVE the free agent market, teams overpay and players are looking to get paid as much as possible.

Fisher has been a coach longer than Belichick and can't even seem to put a playoff team on the field, despite accumulating a supposed plethora of talent.

I'm waiting to see what happens to The Patriot Way when Brady is gone.

Rodney should have been signed to a long term contract the season before last by The Rams !! They had him as a restricted FA .
J. Jenkins they could have had signed last season as well, but allowed him to test the market.Once they hit the market it didn't make sense to sign for high$$ dollars.

May as well get used to it, most players want to get to the open market because it means a way bigger payday than signing early/extending a deal. I can't blame these guys one bit, it's the nature of the beast now with the new CBA.

I think the QB making the coach is how it works for most NFL Head coaches, Pete Carroll especially. However I think Belichick will still field a good team. He has a superior model. He has won with backup QBs too.

Then draft a QB with the in 5th rd !! The Rams needed a QB to groom. They took that Texas/SMU guy Gilbert !! WTF !!

On money Smith & Petro yesterday dogged Snisher pretty hard. Throw a dart at map instead of a not so smart GRob !!
-- Never liked the picked, but had high hopes & trust in Snisher. They picked 2 guys from Auburn.. There you go Auburn & The Titants. ..
----Hindsite yes with frustration. The Rams have a lot of Talent. I actually like the youth but Fisher has to go.
--Rodney was a huge cost once in as a FA.

I cease being that interested with a guy when he leaves the team, for whatever reason....I guess I understand, but it's not for me...
The only time I care is if they play a team I hate. And even then it's only because the Rams aren't playing.

Mo Alexander is quietly making folks forget Rodney McLeod. Mo is not at McLeods level YET, but he's closing in.
