After watching our WR's catch the ball last night and have room to run, I don't see how anyone isn't excited to see T, Austin in this offense.Austin is our most dangerous player in the open field. He's going to make some highlight reals this year.
I want to click that like button 100 times. I can't wait to see it.

I'll be negative.
The Ref's were really poor .
Don't forget it is their preseason as well and they're right now probably watching tape on the game and their bosses are critiquing them.
So in other words;
1st down on the 1-yard line after the Watkins pass interference gets called in the regular season! :D

I'll be negative.

Mannion made & makes plays when needed , but man there were some bad reads.
The TD pass he had Travis Wilson open. Marshall is so good in the booth .He has always seen the game extremely well.
The pass to Outside to Reynolds , he had Copper wide open.
He just doesn't go through his progressions well. Good game though.

Hatfield ??
Troy Hill ??
Sam Rodgers ??
Spruuuce ???
I like Blake Countess better than Troy Hill . I use to mix them up sometimes 32 & 24 ?? 24 is the better player & always shows up.
--Petterson is a player I want to see make it as well.

Casanova
McKinnzy Did not show up last night.
Carlos Thomas and his injury sucked .
The Ref's were really poor .
It's harder To find guys when you know you have to get rid of the ball quicker. On most of his drop backs he had a guy in his face and he got hit multiple times while throwing the ball. In the case of the Reynolds TD he saw a mismatch on the outside and he took it and it was the right call

After starting last season on the Rams’ practice squad before being promoted to the 53 man roster in November, Countess was hoping to stick on the Rams roster again and contribute some time on defense. Performances like Saturday night’s one will help that. Countess was targeted four times allowing two receptions for only 12 yards, only two of which came after the catch. Countess also added in two pass breakups and when he was targeted he allowed a passer rating of only 56.3.

Agree with everyone so far but am glad Countess got mentioned by PFF. It seemed like he was in on almost every play he was out there. Was all over the field and made his name present on the screen often. So got to give him my biggest riser since your average fan would have no idea who he is.

As far as fallers, not sure anyone really fell too much. I was pretty annoyed with Joyner by the time he was done. Hill had some bad plays.

In my mind:

1. This is the VERY FIRST time that Goff really seemed to understand what he sees out there and have command of the offense.

*His passes were precise

*It didn't seem he had one target. He really was reading the defense, and even appeared to audible on a few his plays.

It was a huge day for him!! His connection with Kupp is very much like Brady has with Edelman.

2. The OLine as a whole looked much more effective...so again I say leave it alone and watch it work and grow. Havenstein and Saffold are the stabilizers.

3. Gurley seems to have learned to read his blocks better...for much of last year I thought it was a combination of his impatience as well as a weak passing game that made him seem to drop off. Gurley has always been a gamer...but not always one with patience.

4. Mannion looked shaky at first, but settled down and had a nice game too. Looks like the first season in a long time where this team really may have stability at QB going into the season. LOOK OUT though...some teams may come after Mannion.

I had to catch the game delayed on NFL Network. I recorded the game so I can watch much closer today!

I think he was playing corner or nickle-back....not safety...or was he???? Anyone got a clue?

you should never put even two TE's in pass protection on a player like Mack.
Higbee should be able to at least slow Mack's rush to the QB....if he can't, he's useless as a TE....Might as well call him a WR. Everett too...Those guys are too big to play so soft on the line.
I like Blake Countess better than Troy Hill .
He was a corner to you too...yes???

Blake Countess stood out...actually surprised me. Connor Barwin too...dude was like a baby Chris Long.

oh yeah....Tru still has sweet feet....I said a few days ago....Any chance we can keep him?

I'm a little down on Higbee...and Joyner...Mo wasn't awe inspiring either...

He played the Joyner Role most of the game. He slide down in nickle then back up top deep. They used him in a variety of ways, they had too with so many guys out

I been beating this DB's drum since last season. In the 1st PS gm.BC played both SS & FS posts for way over a half & looked excellent as our 3rd string Free Safety. We observed a change up with DB Blake Countess (BC} last night, where BC played most of the time in the corner Nickle, much like last season in the last two games when he replaced SSLB/Nickle Joyner. That's why he was involved in all those targeted plays. Its evident that Wade is looking @ BC in 3 different playing posts currently. I can say he has passed expectations thus far.

BC's might be gaining on both Lamarcus Joyner & Davis. Our 1st team FS Joyner had a rough outing that ended in his replacement. Our 2nd team FS Cody Davis replaced Joyner early after penalty on that TD when Joyner came up woozy. Davis had an average so so performance & is usually good in deep coverage but sure did not shine last night. Not what you would expect for a 28 yr old entering his 6th NFL season. Cody has ST value too as a gunner which will help his cause. Cody plays on all of Bones ST's. But in truth Cody is a 1 post reserve safety. Sure Cody can play SS but he can not bring the hit with any of his tackles.

Which now leads me back to our subject......BC is a very cheap econo priced DB so is SS Marqui Christian both Joyner & Davis will be UFA's in 6 months not the case with BC & Christian who will remain econo priced DB's until 2019. Then there's talented rookie John Johnson who has been working in OTA's & TC as a 3 post DB too.I think these 3 mentioned posts are tightening up some more than we ever thought. Should I also bring out like @LACHAMP46 said during the gm that "Mo not so TJ like thus far". Mo has not stood out ether.

No wonder he was all over the field....everyone should keep an eye on this rotation for the trial run, 3rd preseason game...
Blake and my human missile Marqui have a chance to supplant someone at FS....and maybe be the backup nickle back to NRC....
I DIDN'T LIKE THAT RECEPTION TO Amari Cooper between 3 players....that should have resulted in someone....specifically Amari, going to the concussion protocol.....

That Amari Cooper catch just shows how special he really is:bow:.

If Marqui can learn to wrap up :whistle:we might have found a keeper @ reserve Strong Safety!

IMO.....NRC should Not be utilized as the Nickel but remain as our top reserve @ the two outside CB posts.I would strongly suggest that consideration be given to Blake Countess earning the Nickel position & John Johnson gets a strong look @ the back up Nickel assignment in 2017. Thus leaving Wade to settle on Mo's & Joyner's main 3rd safety back up between Marqui Christian/ Cody Davis/ Isaiah Johnson.

Note: There's always Mark Barron's availability to plug in @ Strong Safety in an emergency. From what I saw from both Josh Forrest & Cory Littleton who was playing for Barron....not a problem there.

He definitely had a good game....much better than last week...I was ready to cut him for Cassanova.
OSLB McKinzy never saw the field..... neither did OSLB Ejuan Price then there's broken down OSLB Samson Ebukam...did his girlfriend shave off his hair & blind him before Training Camp? Quinn is still on vacation too.

Instead we had to watch Folarin Orimolade:shocking:, Andy Mulumba :shocking:, Davis Tull & Kevin Davis instead last night. Tull for having just arrived has a little pass rush to him could be a PS prospect. Folarin Orimolade has had a rough two pre season games...could be cut bait this week. Looks to me that our 53 player roster will be seriously LB'er heavy.

I'm curious about Samson and haven't been able to find any info on him. Is he hurt? Just hasn't been able to see the field due to limitations?

Here's what I know Corbin.... Ebukam has missed every practice since August 3rd due to a hamstring injury. That would indicate Samson got in only 5 practices at most. Presently the Rams seem to be loaded @ his playing position @ OLB'er/Edge Rusher & we as of yet have not see Rob Quinn either.

Murphy was 2nd team RT this week with Williams moved to #2 LT. Williams played well for the most part. Probably a little undersized for LT, but possibly athletic enough to be a back up there.
I agree here on Darrell Williams...its vital for Kromer to have & develop a decent back up LT. Pace Murphy with that bad left elbow sure can not contribute @ this time. DW last season @ this time was awful & now with Kromer there is signs he could be our reserve.

A rookie not mentioned in this tread is DL'er Tanzel Smart. This short big guy has been lining up in all 3 DL posts & both inside DL post in the front 4 DL. His motor never stops & he has a "Tude" to him! The position he usually lines up in is Aaron Donald's alleged 3 tech starting post but for now its Tanzel's. Wade has this rookie primed & ready for regular season already.

Who was #95 last night on the DLine. I noticed him and his flowing locks a couple of times and don't see him listed on the roster. Lined up with the 2nd or 3rd team DLine and made a couple nice plays.
