Who are your Rams Risers and Fallers after preseason game 2 vs Da Raida's.

Some players are clearly stepping up and seizing the moment while others are fading. Who do you have and why

Here are mine:

Risers:
Goff - huge game. Deadly accurate. On pace for 30+ points vs a good defense. Would have been better if Watkins catches the TD.

Mannion- played with grit and leadership with a crappy Oline.

Gurley- looked more determined and grinded out some hard yards at about 5 ypc.

Jamon Brown - Better game. Not perfect but I can now sleep at night. No major mishaps. Still doesn't maintain blocks long in run game but real solid in pass game.

Havenstein- another solid game.

Whitworth/Saffold/Sullivan- all very solid games, giving Jared a wall to sit behind and opening some holes. Safffold with huge push in run game.

Kupp- star rising after some clutch catches and a TD.

Everett- more big plays solidifying him as a top WR Threat.

Pharaoh- more clutch catches in traffic with strong hands.

Trumaine- reminds us and Carr that he makes plays. Shut up raiders fans for a while.

Mike Thomas - flashed elusiveness and ability to separate. Caught the dam ball.

Reynolds- in the words of Randy Moss "Just throw the ball up man".

Fallers:

Don't get butt hurt this is my opinion.

Joyner/Alexander- you dudes gave up a TD to a no name TE. We can't have that. Tighten it up. Alexander missed a few
Tackles and Joyner got flagged twice. To his defense they were questionable calls.

Spruce- your disappearing bro.

Higbee- your run and pass blocking is horrendous dude. Good thing you showed some nice routes and separation in the WR department or you are free falling your way off the field.

Pace Murphy- you were so bad last week that you made my list this week even though I have no idea how you did this week, yea I'm still so disturbed by last week, it was like watching the excorcist when I was by my self at home at 7 years old. Scary stuff man.

That's all I got for now.

He sure looks like a much better QB when he's not staring up at the sky after every single snap.

QB Jared Goff was on fire early, shaking off a Khalil Mack sack to hit WR Cooper Kupp with an early touch down and leading another scoring drive that finished with a RB Todd Gurley touchdown.

TOP 5 GRADES:

S Blake Countess, 86.3

QB Jared Goff, 82.7

LB Josh Forrest, 82.3

TE Cory Harkey, 82.1

CB Trumaine Johnson, 81.8

PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:

QB JARED GOFF, 82.7 OVERALL GRADE

We got to see a full half of Jared Goff in this new Rams offense, and did he ever impress. He played conservatively sure, attempting just four passes more than 10 yards downfield. But he made tough throws when he had to and didn’t force anything or make a bad decision. His adjusted completion percentage of 89.5% is very impressive, and should help Rams fans breathe easier going into Goff’s sophomore season

WR COOPER KUPP, 81.2 OVERALL GRADE
Every quarterback needs a security blanket, and if today was an indication of what’s to come then Cooper Kupp has earned that role for Goff. Kupp caught six of seven passes for 70 yards and a touchdown on the day, good for an impressive 3.68 yards per route run. Every time the Rams needed a big conversion, Goff looked for Kupp and he delivered.

S BLAKE COUNTESS, 86.3 OVERALL GRADE
After starting last season on the Rams’ practice squad before being promoted to the 53 man roster in November, Countess was hoping to stick on the Rams roster again and contribute some time on defense. Performances like Saturday night’s one will help that. Countess was targeted four times allowing two receptions for only 12 yards, only two of which came after the catch. Countess also added in two pass breakups and when he was targeted he allowed a passer rating of only 56.3.

CB TRUMAINE JOHNSON, 81.8 OVERALL GRADE
In the offseason Johnson was hit with the franchise tag by the Rams for the second straight year. Johnson hopes to put together another good season so he can be rewarded with a long term contact next season. He showed that he is capable of being the Rams’ number one cornerback with his solid play in the second pre-season game. In his 13 snaps in coverage, he was only targeted once. He intercepted that pass by cutting off Michael Crabtree’s route and running it for him for an easy pick. Johnson finished with a coverage grade of 81.7.

I can't argue with anything on your list.
Higbees lack of blocking has probably solidified Harvey's roster spot at TE.

My biggest thing with Goff these first 2 weeks and honestly the Rams offense in whole is how the passes are thrown. They always seem to be thrown to the WR/TE at the right time and spot to give the receiver the best chance to make a play after the catch. McVay and his offense offer a very bright light at the end of the tunnel we're trying to get out of.

Goff & Offensive Line risers, concern still the blocking at TE and I believe the Rams will keep all four TE's including Harkey and release FB Sam Rogers. They can add Rogers to the PS much easier then cutting Hemmingway, who has showcased some play making ability.

Position Coach Shane Waldron needs to work with Higbee on his blocking somebody that big needs to be better, however, you should never put even two TE's in pass protection on a player like Mack.

Very impressed with Mike Thomas. Its not like I've been living under a rock, but that was the most I have seen of him. He looked comfortable, as if he belonged. I now see why he has so many here at ROD who believe in him.

He's going to have to get his mind wrapped around learning to be vicious though. If he is to make the team after his suspension, he'll be playing special teams and thus far has looked timid on kick coverage. This game he got absolutely blown up and sent backwards on punt coverage.

Murphy was 2nd team RT this week with Williams moved to #2 LT. Williams played well for the most part. Probably a little undersized for LT, but possibly athletic enough to be a back up there.

I was desperate for the Rams to draft Carr when he was coming out.
I enjoyed that picture. The guy I wanted the Rams to get and the guy they got.
Could be, for once, it's all goons work out well.
I wanted Carr as well. Carr is the biggest reason I've been hard on Joyner.

I really wanted Goff as well, so that has eased my pain. ;)

I'll be negative.

Mannion made & makes plays when needed , but man there were some bad reads.
The TD pass he had Travis Wilson open. Marshall is so good in the booth .He has always seen the game extremely well.
The pass to Outside to Reynolds , he had Copper wide open.
He just doesn't go through his progressions well. Good game though.

Hatfield ??
Troy Hill ??
Sam Rodgers ??
Spruuuce ???
I like Blake Countess better than Troy Hill . I use to mix them up sometimes 32 & 24 ?? 24 is the better player & always shows up.
--Petterson is a player I want to see make it as well.

Casanova
McKinnzy Did not show up last night.
Carlos Thomas and his injury sucked .
The Ref's were really poor .

After watching our WR's catch the ball last night and have room to run, I don't see how anyone isn't excited to see T, Austin in this offense.Austin is our most dangerous player in the open field. He's going to make some highlight reals this year.
