Didn't see that one coming at this point in season. He hasn't looked the same since the injury but you'd think they would have left him on IR instead of bringing him back to have to release him. I guess JoJo's job is safe still after his screw up Sunday.

Beat me to it! Hmm wonder what the thinking behind this was? Always thought having two guys play as specialists for similar role was interesting...

You'd have to think that was the last thing he was expecting when he was called to the Coach's office. Would naturally have thought he was about to be told he was now returning punts as well.

I literally opened twitter not expecting anything and it had been posted 2 seconds ago so had good timing on the scoop lol. But yeah, not sure what to think about this. I guess he wasn't showing anything in the passing game which I'm sure was the hope after Kupp went down. If Hodge has shown an inkling more in the ability to help the passing game he immediately bumps Pharoh off the depth chart since he isn't needed in the return game with JoJo. So my guess is JoJo beats out Pharoh in punt returns and Hodge beats out Pharoh in passing game equals Pharoh not having a place. He kept returning kickoffs when he shouldn't have which sealed the deal probably.

I’m sure this is more to this story such as a possible suspension or possibly an incident with a coach/player but he hasn’t really done anything since coming back anyways

Seriously, "Sorry Coop, we need a scapegoat for that fumbled punt against the Eagles. The problem is, JoJo's still better than you."

Interesting..like you guys said I'm sure something happened behind tbe scenes.

He also had 2 years to crack the wr depth and didnt do anything. Dont think the move hurts us , please just fair catch all punts and save us all the pain.

Natson has always been faster/quicker. Returners make mistakes. But Cooper hasn’t shown anything since being drafted and he wasn’t a McVay pick anyway.
