Colin Cowherd = "Always trust Vegas!"....."because they are only concerned about money"................"I always trust Vegas"

I think the above statements could get you a Darwin award.
Was Vegas on the 99 Rams. No. Vegas always plays it safe.
Also, the Rams being in the NFC west causes many to tone down the win total. Injuries and covid not withstanding. If vegas has the Rams over/under 10.5 games, take the over. The offense will be top of the league. The D will drop off a bit, top 10. Lots of garbage time for the opponent to pad the numbers. Rams 12 wins at least. The new ability to step up and come from behind will put us over the top.
When it comes to the Rams this time of year I become a little bipolar. Today I am up.

I don't think it is. He talked about the receiving(weapons) that Stafford had and those guys DIDN'T have. ??

Well lets see. Warner had Fitzgerald(HOF), Anquan Boldin(pro bowl) and Steve Breaston who did have a 1,000 yd season but was mostly JAG. He also had a declining but still pretty good Edgerrin James.
Warner is a HOF for good reason but lets not pretend he had no weapons in AZ.

Andrew Luck had mostly JAG at RB. He had a declining Reggie Wayne, TY Hilton, a good TE in Coby Fleener. IIRC that division was pretty bad when Luck & the Colts were winning 11 gm/year.

Palmer in Cincy. He had two seasons above .500
Chad Johnson was a stud & TJ Housh was good. Rudi Johnson was a baller for a short while. Also had a top 5 defense once.

Idk man, i like Cowherd but i'm not buying it.
None of these QB's he mentioned played as many years with really bad teams as Stafford.
Another thing that is not mentioned is the amount of crappy OC's and systems that Stafford has endured.

Well Warner was an unknown in 99'...Wasn't even expected to play. Martz was also an unknown as an OC.

Here, McVay is known as is Stafford.

Interesting thing is both
the Rams and Detroit have over/under's matching last season's win totals.

So they are betting that neither QB makes a big difference on each team's outcome compared to what they did last yr

In fact you could argue Detroit has lost a lot of offensive firepower and still their o/u is similar to last yr's record.

It is interesting that Vegas chose those numbers, especially because of the closeness to LA. My guess is that there will be a lot of over bets just from the RAM fan's proximity. It is possible that the number has more to do with the loss of Akers than it does the acquisition of Stafford. Also the perception that the team is top heavy and thin on back up talent as well as the changes on D. Lots of question marks that we are all aware of.

His arguement comparing Warner, Luck and Palmer and what they were able to do with terrible franchises compared to Stafford is interesting.

But I don’t think anyone thinks Stafford is at the level of Warner or Luck - only that Stafford could get a very good Rams team over the hump
I have never seen a team tank as bad as the Dolts "sucked for Luck". That was a talented roster that started Curtis fucking Painter at QB for an entire season to make sure they got the #1 pick. That was an easy 8 win team with an average QB and them actually trying to win.

One thing Collin is right about, the complete dumping on Goff and over estimation on Stafford - and how unbalanced it is.
Disagree. But we'll see here soon thank fuck.

To me this feels alot like how I felt going into the 2019 season.

1. Offensive line is a question mark. We need Allen to have improved and Whit to play like last season in order for us to get a 10 win season imo.

2. Akers is out and it's not a matter of "if" but "when" Henderson gets injured again. Hopefully Sony can stay healthy and be that support structure and Jones is recovered and can be a reliable change of pace.

Those 2 things failing are a big part of what held Stafford back in Detroit, and McVay I'm not sure how McVay will adjust if worst comes to worst.

If all works out, no reason we can't make a deep playoff run. If those two things fail, a 10 win season is still an accomplishment under such circumstances.

They were also 200-1 before the injury. I was in Vegas with my brother on July 4 and saw those odds.

Vegas only picks what plays. There seems to be a pretty even split on Stafford. Good not great, poor record, poor playoff record but has the tools, blah blah blah.

There is no way they go under 10 wins with the Rams roster. There is also no way they go over. Its too risky. They pick only what makes them money. So its not about the end result. Its about balancing out the bets. I wish they'd go for 6 wins on Stafford this year. That's a sure thing for bettors.

I realize that, but that means they feel a lot of people dont believe in Stafford if they set the line at 10.5 with an extra game this yr. Just say'in.

I have us at 11 wins this year as well. We play in the toughest division in football. That has to equate to something.

A lot of people don’t believe in him. They think he should have been able to win in Detroit.

According the Vegas the highest win total this year is 12.5 in a 17 game season. Does anyone really think 12 or 13 is the most any team will win this year? They always go low in their projected win totals. According to Vegas the Rams are tied for 5th in projected win totals. Would they be that high if they still had Goff? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't. Cowherd using that half game better to support his argument that Vegas doesn't think Stafford is that much of an upgrade is pretty weak if you ask me.

But we had a 3rd place schedule from 2019. Any way that is an easy bet.
3rd place vs 2nd place schedule is the diff of two games and often it's not a big diff as those games may change from what those teams were the yr before.

Last yr the 3rd place Rams played Chicago & Tampa

The 2nd place Seattle played Minnesota & Atlanta.

So last yr the Rams 3rd place schedule was tougher than the Seahawks 2nd place schedule as we played two playoff teams and Seattle played none in those extra games

I think excitement about Staff is justified, but the need to dump on Goff in the process is just weird to me. Seemed to me Cowturd was dumping on both of them tho.
