Not that hard to come up with the 53, although we all know training camp will sort out those on the edge. Accuracy is more the problem than actual cutting. I imagine some surprises as we see what the new guys bring to the table, lots of great camp battles to keep us involved, ... and let's not forget there is one more long phase of free agency & waivers once the camp cuts get into full swing. With all the Center hopefuls being brought into camp, i'm still betting on an in-house OG being trained up for the back-up role.

Offense (25) :

QB - Goff, Mannion

LT - Whitworth, ... Williams or Murphy
LG - Saffold, Donnal, Brown
C - Sullivan, Wichmann or Donnal
RG - Havenstein, Brown
RT - Robinson, Donnal

RB - Gurley, Dunbar, Brown

FB - Rogers

TE - Higbee, Everett, Hemingway, Harkey

WR - Austin, Woods, Kupp, Reynolds, Cooper, Thomas

Defense (25) :

NT/DT - Brockers, Walker
LDE - Easley, Smart, Walker
RDE - Donald, Trinca-Pasat

OLB - Quinn, Barwin, Ebukam, Price
ILB - Ogletree, Barron, Forrest, Hager

SS - Alexander, I. Johnson, Barron
FS - Joyner, J. Johnson, Randolph, Davis

CB - T. Johnson, Webster, EJ Gaines, Robey-Coleman, Jordan, Joyner

Special Teams (3) :

P - Hekker

I may be counting wrong but I think you have 10 OL you're counting 9. Whitworth, Williams, Murphy, Saffold, Donnal, Brown, Sullivan, Whichman, Havenstein and Robinson. You also count 25 on defense but have 28 names.

Williams OR Murphy. On O & D, I've got a few guys listed twice, like Brown & Donnal on the OL & Walker, Barron & Joyner on O as they may play/back-up more than one position. Only 25 players though on O & D. Sorry if it looks confusing.

I know it may happen but 4 TE's and 6 WR's seems to really favor the TE's. Going to be interesting to see what happens in the Skill positions.
Some very good WR, TE and RB prospects will be left out for sure.

OFFENSE:

* WR's = 6 Players.
* O-Line = 10 Players.
* QB's = 2 Players.
* TE's = 4 Players.
* RB's = 3 Players.
* FB's = 1 Player.

DEFENSE:

* LB's = 9 Players.
* D-Line = 7 Players.
* CB's = 5 Players.
* Safeties = 4 Players.

Special Teams:
3 Players = P-PK-LS.

Try this!

Offense:

WR: Woods, Austin, Kupp, Reynolds, Cooper, Marquez
OL: Whitworth, Saffold, Sullivan, Havenstein, Robinson, Brown, Wichmann, Donnal, Williams, Eldrenkamp
QB: Goff, Mannion
TE: Higbee, Harkey, Hemingway, Everett
RB: Gurley, Brown, Green
FB: ROGERS!!!!

Defense:

LB: Barwin, Quinn, Ogletree, Barron, Hager, Forrest, Ebukam, Price, Fox
DL: Donald, Brockers, Easley, Westbrooks, Longacre, Trinca-Passat, Smart
CB: Johnson (Tru), Webster, Gaines, Robey-Coleman, Hill
S: Alexander, Joyner, Johnson (John), Christian (Marqui)

Special Teams:

P: Hekker the Great
PK: Zuerlein aka Legatron
LS: McQuaide aka Lone Wolf

I know I'm off because I don't have any UDFAs making the roster and there always seem to be a couple that stick...

Will Ryan Shakeir move past Cooper or Marquez or Mike Thomas?

Will Teidrick Smith bust his way into the LB corps?

Will any of the UDFA RBs get past Green or Dunbar if Dunbar is ahead of Green?

Btw, outside of Goff, Gurley, Whitworth, Donald, Barwin, Webster, Brockers, Easley and Trumaine Johnson, the guy most guaranteed to make the roster? Well two guys?

Cooper Kupp and Sam Rogers.

Man are we going to be better this year. At the very least we have THREE receivers who KNOW that to get a first down, you have to be past the first down marker. Wonder of wonder! Miracle of miracles!

I agreed with most of your ideas and honestly, I didn't make enough room for UDFAs making the squad so I know I'll be off somewhere.

That said, in a McVay offense, there's just no way we only keep 3 TEs especially when there are times when he runs 3 TE sets. How does Harkey not make the squad?

Also, Westbrooks doesn't make it? Wow...

I didn't include Littleton and that may likely be another oversight.

Bet you ALL my ROD bucks that short of injury, Mannion will be the backup. You actually think they'd go with ONLY a 2nd year player and a rookie?

Very nice list, Memento.

Some projections at this date are just so hard, huh?

4th RB.
9th and 10th OL.
5th and 6th WR
4th TE (if any)
7th and 8th LB.
Last CB
Last S

Those get real fuzzy for me. So, who can disagree with your projections? It's just for fun anyway.

About Spruce to the PS. I don't think, if healthy, he will last there for more than 15 minutes unless he has a terrible camp and PS. If we cut him, he's a goner.

That doesn't mean that he won't get beat out by Cooper and Thomas, btw. He could.

Just means that we would have really upgraded the WR play through coaching, FA, and the draft.

I think Harkey gets traded, to be honest with you. Maybe it's a late round pick, but he saves a fair bit of money on the cap, cap that can be used to re-sign Ogletree and Donald. As for the other tight ends, I don't think highly enough of them for them to even make the practice squad. There currently isn't a tight end on this roster that I'd keep, although I'm certain that they'll look for a tight end by the end of the cuts.

Westbrooks and Longacre don't make it because they simply don't fit in a 3-4. I'd love to trade them, but cutting sounds more likely to me. Westbrooks is far too light to succeed in a 3-4. He's, like, 274 lbs. That's simply not good enough, even as an end. But he's not athletic enough to be a 3-4 linebacker. Same with Longacre.

Littleton is so underrated, especially as a special-teams demon. He led the team in special teams tackles last year, if I'm not mistaken. That's the same reason why I believe that Pharoh Cooper and Mike Thomas stick. Cooper can return kicks, and Thomas is the best gunner we have.

Pretty much nailed it although I do like Mike Purcell over Trinca-Passat, but should be a great competition all the way around.

Spruce might last on the practice squad, but if he doesn't, that means that better wide receivers beat him out, like you said.

Thank you for the response.

The only two players I'm unsure of is whether Mike Thomas or Bradley Marquez makes the grade, it depends on who Fassell believes has the greater contribution on Special Teams. I can't get him on the phone this morning to check with him...

I do believe it is too early to make projection about which specific Players will be left on the 53 man Roster and the PS! which is why I started this as strictly a "Numbers at specific Positions" count!
That being said. your 6 WR's I believe is correct, except I, personally, would dump both Mike Thomas, and Bradley Marquez and keep Spruce! JMHO!
