Ok - I’m ready to talk about it.

The Eagles currently have the 1 seed - with games against the Raiders and Cowboys remaining.

The Vikings have the 2 - Packers and Bears reminding

Let’s assume they both win out.

Do we want the 3 seed or the 4 seed?

Which is the better track? To play the 6 seed? (Lions, Seahawks, Falcons) and then if we win go to Minnesota? Or would we rather play the 5 seed (probably Panthers - maybe the Saints) and then go to Philly?

We may get the the point where week 17 gives us this choice - where we can rest our 1s against the 9ers knowing we will play 1 home game on wild card weekend and then hit the road to either Minnesota or Philly.

Myself, I’d just go for the 3 and let the chips fall - you may end up at home for the NFC championship game that way even though I think Minnesota is tougher than Philly right now.

Just win and let the cards fall where they may. Trying to position your seeding to your advantage probably doesn't work too well. Just beat everybody in front of you, no matter what the seed. It's that time of year to win about 7 in a row!!!!!!

Interesting points, 12-in the box.

I personally would prefer to play in Philly with Foles as opposed to returning to minny.

I think most fans would have a hard time with it if McVay chose to give banged up players some rest vs the Niners — even if the Division was wrapped up but 3/4 seeding was still up for grabs.

But what if some players could really benefit from the rest? Like Ogletree, sullivan, Barron, and whit?

Tough call, not a sure thing that 3 seed would be better than a 4 seed this year. Also not a slam dunk that we should play banged-up players vs niners in order to maintain that 3 seed.

Will be an interesting coaching decision, and I hope we have the luxury to have this debate come week 17. But first thing’s first— wrap up the division by beating Tennessee.

Coasting into the playoffs has rarely worked.
The NFC is loaded. I don't see any easy games outside of maybe Detroit. Everybody else is to be feared and for good reason--including the seahawks.

...and I wouldn't be taking either the titans OR the 9ers lightly. The titans playoff hopes end if they lose to the Rams, and the jimmy g 9ers are undefeated.

Back in ‘99, the rams decided to rest some starters in their meaningless final game (which they lost) and then had a bye week. So it worked for them. Just sayin.

What does it matter? Either we beat Minnesota then Philly or beat Philly first, then Minny?

They took Warner and Faulk out at halftime against the Eagles in that game, if I remember correctly.

You should always want the higher seed. I wouldn't mind playing the Seahawks or Panthers. We know the Seahawks, and the Panthers have a mediocre offense as well, coming from someone that lives in NC and watches the Panthers each Sunday unfortunately.

I think the more appropriate conversation is which team would you like to see get the 6 seed.
I’m thinking Detroit
Anyone but Green Bay

The 4 seed is preferred IF they both win out.

But let's say the Rams win the 3 seed... Then say the Eagles tank in round 2 vs the Panthers. In that event it will still benefit the Rams in the form of a playoff game in LA.

Too many movin parts man. What I'd like to see the Rams do is two things:

1. Beat the Titans.
2. Rest their starters vs the 9ers.

I want the key starters to get that week of rest man. I think that's important when you don't get the round 1 bye.

obviously it would be much better to play the eagles over the vikings, but you dont really play for seeds when its the 3rd and 4th

Okay, but that team had mad levels of Serendipity.

You can' t rely on destiny. You have to MAKE it.

??
How could the 4 seed be preferred?
It’s not unheard of that the 3/4 play in the NFC championship game. It’s preferred to play that on the road?

Well, we are an awesome road team!

No, tho, I agree with you. I'll refer to Herm Edwards again...
