Avila is gonna be the best pick we've made in years on the OL. Not the kind of guy who needs a coach reminding him to play through the whistle. This dude just gets it.
Hopefully he rubs off on the rest of the guys. You leave your feet, you take a seat.

If Bruss and Noteboom miss significant time again this season, I would like to see the Rams move on from them.

This is why many of us have been pissed at the lack of attention the OL has received early in drafts. You dont find talent like Avila in round 4, and given all the misses lately in the middle rounds it's nice to have one young potential elite OL talent to build around.

It is a conundrum right now if this year is about setting up 24'.

Do you cut bait with Noteboom and or Allen in favor of Thomas and McCallister? If you do, you might risk having a worse line this year when you need to protect Stafford at all costs. However if they do go that route, they may end up with players with brighter futures and lower cap hits for the next few yrs.

I would give Bruss one more yr...worse case IR him even if it means he is done for the yr. (Preseason IR costs you the yr I believe). So give him another yr to get over his injury if you have to.

BTW - Mcvay was asked directly if Noteboom's current inury was related to the previous Achilles.

Mcvays answer was "No".

I thought for sure this year McVay would get away from this propensity of not playing the starting Oline together in preseason. Maybe the change in the cutdown schedule has allowed him more time to evaluate, maybe they just really aren’t trying to win this year.

Whatever the reason, I think it is a bad plan and can only lead to bad things at the start of the season.

Avila and Jackson working together on the left side seems like a good situation. They might be together for the next 5+ years so it could end up being a tremendous start.

Hav not being in the games is tough but even worse he has missed time in the practices too.

Center I have to think Allen is the leading candidate, keeping him out because of his injury issues??? If he can’t make it a couple of series in a preseason game does he deserve to start in game 1?

I’m hopeful but, I see McVay’s normally hot starts taking another huge hit this year and the Oline not getting game time in preseason is one of the reasons.

Idk, I've heard Whit be pretty candid about players at times. He doesn't go overboard like people on a message board does but he puts in subtle critiques about players at times. I remember him talking about Bobby Brown not always having the motor every down coaches want him to have this last game for instance.

Hey, if you want to believe him then go ahead. You apparently are one of those fanboys that believes everything a coach or player says. But, I've watched Noteboom play, he Mau be a goid athlete but he's not a goid starting O line man in the NFL.

Let’s hope that the front office has learnt its lesson and will spend higher draft picks on the OL going forward.

I’d love us to get one of the top LT prospects in 2024 (my preference is for Fashanu), although it must be said that edge is also looking like a big need.

Yeah, I thought that ankle sprain looked mild, he should heal up from that quick.

But he has put some TERRIBLE film out there. Man he has had some embarrassing beat downs.

Only reason Bruss has a chance to stick is his draft position. If he was a 6th rounder instead of a 3rd, no way he makes the 53.

Boom and Bruss not being able to get or stay healthy is a huge disappointment to all of us. Add to that we've seen Boom be a good LT in big games and he hasn't been able to sustain that either. Next years draft and free agency will be interesting. I wonder if Stafford retires who the free agent QBs are. I think AD calls it after this year. I could see a LT or Edge in the first if we pu t QB one more year.

Huh? So I shouldn't believe Whit when he criticizes things about players that they need to be better at? And the gif was regarding the other comment which again was laughing at the thought that the Rams are upfront about injury issues which they've rarely been.
