Guess I'm a little freaked up then, because I imagine no scenario where losing is more acceptable to me than winning.
Good luck with that early draft stuff. I'll be looking forward to another win on Thursday in our bananajams.

I have one scenario!

The Mayans played this game where the winner was sacrificed to the gods by ripping out there heart - not the loser

I'm only suggesting that this would be one such acceptable scenario

Yea but you don't want to lose out anymore than I do. And winning 2 or 3 more games means ending up in the 12-18 range in the draft. Which is a huge deal when compared to the 4-8 range.
Or it may keep us in the same position we are currently in. Or it may result in still grabbing the player we are after. Or it may mean that we take option #2 and he turns out better than option #1. Or we lose out, the team hates being in the locker room with each other, forms real attitudes, and we start next season on a sour note. Or we take this win, parlay it into next week with a bunch of young players, win next week, and maybe even win the two after that and go into next season knowing we can compete and win in this league with a few added players and anything short of abysmal QB play..

I'll take meaningless losses if I believe it'll lead to meaningful wins in the future. JMO.

Maybe 'competent' is all that the Rams need. Just sayin'. . . :football:

Competent would be a big upgrade from what we have had to watch for the past 6+ weeks. Dont know if Foles will ever recover, not convinced Keenum is the answer. Would like to see Mannion even if only in relief.

The older I get the more interested I am in winning today and the less interest I have in getting future players from the draft. It must be an old guy thing. And yeah, am looking forward to seeing those uniforms. Might have to wear shades while watching the game though. Electrical banana...

Here's hoping that we grab #1 or #2 and one of them is a good/great QB. That would be the answer to my prayers. But I haven't seen a winning season since 2003. I haven't seen the playoffs since 2004. I've learned how to deal with losing. We're not getting either of those things this year. I want to give ourselves the best chance to get both next year. Maybe you're right, maybe winning gives us the best chance. From my POV, though, it is risky and there's not much upside in it.

No reason for you to be involved in this thread then, yeah?
It was a meaningless win.

So does anyone know how many big plays Tavon Austin has had called back since he's been a Ram ?

I was going to post this in the vent thread , but the admins already locked that thread

I'm gonna have to say way too many.

I don't like the whole "tank for higher draft" thing but I do think that there is something to people getting a little frustrated that as soon as the game becomes meaningless (i.e. we are out of contention) they turn it on and look like all stars. Why can't they play like that when it matters?

There is also a concern that once again Fisher will win just enough of these "meaningless" things to keep his job (again) when a lot of people think we'd be better off and more likely to win with someone else next year. Also, all other things being equal higher draft picks are better than lower ones but yes it is not a sure thing...

Let's celebrate a win. It shows again our talent is there. But I understand fans saying "wtf were they doing" for the rest of the season whilst it mattered.

Winning is something teams have to learn how to do through actually doing it. Overcoming adversity (e.g., lots of significant injuries) is something else a team must learn to do by actually doing it. Today the Rams did both. That is not meaningless and does help us in the future.

And we've seen our share of high picks in that span - yeah? I'll take winning any game we can.
