Well, they could work out the money.

And someone already broke down the touches and there would be enough. I’m sure Gurley would be okay with a few less touches so as to hopefully extend his career.

Don’t know about his liability from the tape, his recovery from the ankle or his willingness to buy into We not Me.

We’ll find out in draft day...

If we use our first or trade down, then we know that OBJ is to in our future and we move on.

That’s about all we can know short of the Giants FO telling us their plans...

Here's some info on TG's thoughts about OBJ joining the Rams from yesterday's news. Seems he's all for it!

"There's always enough snaps," running back Todd Gurley, speaking hypothetically, said grinning on Tuesday, via the Los Angeles Times. "There's always enough snaps.

"If we had him, man, it would be awesome. I'd be happy, [Jared] Goff will be happy, coach [Sean] McVay will be happy, [owner Stan] Kroenke, the whole team would be."

This kind of thing just kills me man. The price of an OBJ deal will be set by the market. Which has not spoken just yet other than to say the Giants' initial request for compensation is too damn high.

The Giants are trying to play the "Well we don't want to trade OBJ but if you want this amazing and incredible player that we really want to keep so bad we are listening." But they're not fooling anyone, as proven by the fact no team has traded for this clown yet. Fact is the Giants have a guy with one year remaining on his contract threatening to not play without a contract. That plus his little coke party incident on actual video have eroded his value and once they sit on things for a while and realize no team is going to fall for their BS the real market will be set for this dude.

Now some will say "how do you know the Giants want to trade him then?" Because the owner made it a point of getting involved in this incident in the media. The owner is obviously frustrated with the player's behavior, and he is a guy who they cannot come to agreement with contractually. The Giants are trying to move him. All that spin from them is BS as far as I'm concerned.

My guess here, and that's all it is, is that the Giants will move him this offseason for the best offer that is not from a divisional team. They know they are rebuilding. Take a QB high, let Mannion be the bridge guy, and rebuild that team under the new GM and staff. I believe Gettleman is smart enough to realize if they get a RB at 2 overall and then go .500 or whatever they'll be right back in the same boat at QB with a need but now drafting too low to get a high end prospect. The NY media and the media at large is still dumb enough to think the Giants might actually try a mini-rebuild around Mannion, but I just don't buy it.

All signs point to OBJ being moved. IMO. The Giants are just going to have to realize his value has eroded.

I think you meant Manning?

I was wondering when the Giants got Mannion, then I figured it out.

I agree with you about the Giants.

Then again, the Giants may end up in a position where they feel he's worth multiple 1s PLUS and won't move him otherwise. Even if he won't report, they may not be willing to take less then they believe he's worth.

We'll see either right before, or more likely as the Rams are about to draft.

Basically, it looks like it's OBJ, Landry or trade down.

And I say this with no idea of the Rams draft board, how the draft will go or what the price or even actual availability of OBJ is.

My guess is the Rams are very intrigued by the possibility but are not desperate enough to give up 2 first round picks plus Kupp. If the trade were more favorable I do see the Rams willing to pay top $$$ for a #1 receiver such as OBJ - especially when they saw how much $$$ less talented WRs Watkins and Landry went for.

What's the most interesting to me with this whole off season is how it runs completely counter to what Kroenke and KD have said they admire and want to do. This is the polar opposite of a Patriots off season and we've seen them comment many times about admiring and wanting to run the Rams the same way. You wouldn't see them signing multiple high profile big dollar free agents or make trades for a guy like OBJ who is demanding a huge pay raise. The trades for "troubled" players like Talib and Peters then signing Shields yes that to me seems a very Patriots way thing. I'm not criticizing the off season or the moves. I'm simply commenting on how much some of the things they've done run counter with what they told us they wanted to do, at least the addition of OBJ would be. Getting Suh relatively cheap is a very Patriots thing to do. We'll see how they proceed and how the next couple years go. It's going to be very interesting.

Patriots 2017 offseason was actually very similar to what the Rams are doing now. Patriots traded a first for Brandin Cooks after the Saints didn't want to pay him what he demanded. The Rams are looking to trade a first for OBJ. Pats also made trades for Kony Ealy, Dwayne Allen, and James O'Shaungnessy . Rams made trades for Talib and Peters. In Free Agency they gave Stephon Gilmore a huge long term guaranteed contract (valuing the CB position). Rams more risk-averse signed Suh to a one year contract. Pats resigned their main internal free agents in Hightower and Harmon. Rams resigned their guys in NRC and Sulivan. They placed a first round tender on a key secondary member in Malcolm Bulter. Rams franchised Joyner. Pats signed more outside FAs in Gillislee and Burkhead, rams haven't yet. Unlike the pats the Rams added draft capital trading Tree and Quinn. Pats didn't pick until the 3rd round and only had 4 picks. If the Rams trade for OBJ they may not pick until the third, but they will probably have around 7 picks. The free agents the Pats let go netted them a 4th round compensatory pick. Rams will probably get back at least a 3rd round compensatory pick if not 2. If anything Snead is pulling off an upgraded version of the patriots act.

All this “price” stuff is just that...stuff.

NY is wasting time because the rest of the NFL isn’t in the mix and LA isn’t desperate for OBJ. If NY is looking to move him like KC with Peters, then fine.

Otherwise, let NY deal with an unhappy OBJ...

You may have forgot we did pick up Sam Shields and Ramik Wilson. Wow! We really did kinda make some mirror moves of the Pats but I think ours are better.:yess:

Here’s hoping that OBJ is fixated on joining one team only, the Rams. Amazing how our Rams have become “the only place to be” this year.

If OBJ is insisting on Rams only, wonder how the leverage game re. compensation works for Gettleman vs Snead.

This is the thing. He really shot the Giants in the foot with that. Well, that plus the coke party plus the fact the league knows the Giants' owner isn't going to risk a huge contract on him.

I just find it funny they are trying to act like this is something else. If they want to follow that script, so be it. But it's stupid. That team needs a rebuild. Flip the dude for the best offer and move on. And I pray it's not the Rams, although him going to the 9ers might be worse. Him growing up and getting his head on straight up there with a divisional opponent is a terrifying thought.

Even though I’m “pounding the table” for the Rams to get OBJ, I fully understand why many posters do not want him on the team. Character risk, cap issues, lost draft picks, the video, and so on. I get it.

But for those who don’t want OBJ...can you honestly say you’d be “glad” if he went to the Niners?

Not me. I say let the Rams take on the “problem” of a HOF talent (who made the greatest catch in history, BTW).

Only reason I remotely entertain getting OBJ is McVay.

Dude seriously plays above his weight class.

Youngest HC since the 20s.

Single season turnaround.

One of the best DCs gives mad respect.

Have you seen his girlfriend?

You know after last year that players are looking at him as maybe the next Coach B.

Without McVay? No way.

If the Giants sit on him, Heaven help Shurmur.

I can’t see OBJ gelling with him at all.

Worse, he won’t see OBJ unless he’s got that mega contract in hand and how out of hand would he be in NY with that contract!??

I honestly wonder if McVay isn’t one of if not the only HC who could truly transform OBJ into someone on a whole different level.

But we’ll see. It’s up to the Giants how this all plays out and we’ll find out at the draft.

The first time Goff overthrows OBJ or targets Woods or Kupp more than him, he's going to start running his mouth complaining and acting like 4 year old, and it will continue every day until the Rams get rid of him. It's just what he does.

"He is a very passionate player. I just tell him to stay within his game. He is doing well and he likes to win. He is one of the most competitive guys that I know. Not once has he asked anybody to throw him the ball or do anything. He wants to win and he is like all of us, so just stay the course and do what you do best.”- Odell's wide receiver coach

Agreed let NY handle their divorce. The Rams will be first in line for the resulting estate sale.
