i know, another thread about how to watch games. Apologies but thought this might be helpful for people without dtv. The reason I’m looking into it is because my local fox AND cbs stations have been pulled from dtv and have been for months. So they aren’t expected back due to contract fights. Something I think will become more common for directv as broadcast stations start there own streaming services like cbs already has and nbc is starting soon. I reluctantly came back to dtv a year ago for a two year contract just to be able to watch ALL nfl games without dealing with choppy or dead streams. Something I would happily pay for. BUT dtv no longer carries espn in it’s smaller packages. I don’t get fox or cbs. So I’m paying $300 for Sunday ticket and I’ll probably have at least half a dozen, if not more, rams games blacked out due to being on MNF or being a game of the week on fox or cbs since the rams are a hot ticket now. So I’m paying $300 and I still have to constantly fight just to watch 16 god damn games. So in short, fuck directv, this is it for them. I’m done. I’m calling tonight and canceling and paying the early cancel fees unless they give me Sunday ticket for free which I doubt they do since I’ve got no leverage atm being in mid contract.

So the point of this thread, NFL gamepss you can watch all games in US after the game is over. BUT international nfl gamepass gets them all live. If you have a vpn you can change your IP address in order to use the international version. Something I would love to do.

So curious if
A) anyone has a vpn they like and is user friendly?
B) tried the nfl gamepass in this way?

I have used Zenmate for years. When I was working in India, I set up Gamepass based on a German Ip address. (Germany was cheaper than India and the US.) They think you are in Germany so it works.

edit: When I would travel around the world, I would run the VPN as though I am in Germany and it worked great. If you forget to turn on the VPN, Gamepass won't work but just turn it on and suddenly it worked with no issues.

You've sparked my interest.

I've never worked with a VPN. Would I need to repurchase gamepass or would my current account work as long as I'm logged in through a VPN?

In Psycho's case (if I understand correctly) and using a VPN he'd want a VPN that shows you in other states, not necessarily other countries. I don't know if that exists. It might now, it's been a few years since I used it regularly

I’m not sure, I think you have to buy it when using the vpn so that it recognizes you can get international version like @jetplt67 was saying above about using a German ip. You might be able to still cancel it, can’t remember what the term date is to cancel for full refund.

No I want to do different country so that I can watch games live. If you do it inside of US you can’t watch them live plus you don’t get playoffs either.

Looking into it it looks like a vpn service is roughly $100 a year. So would be $200 to do it this way with gamepass. Will do research this weekend and see if I can figure it out.

Let me know what you find out @Psycho_X

I've had gamepass for years now. I really like using it just to rewatch games. I find I easily get my monies worth with how much I actually use the service. It seems they are adding some neat features this year as well.

Ok I forgot about the live benefit, that's good. Then yes a German IP would benefit.
Zenmate is free, I'm a cheapskate. :)

I'm poor and can't afford directTV or Dish and if games I want to watch aren't on local TV, I use various free streaming sites on the pc. sprortstream.tv usually has all nfl games. Once you wade through all the pop-ups, you can watch games in entireity without interruption. I watched 3 live pre-season games last nite with not trouble at all. I also watch any baseball game live at sportstream.tv, mostly the Dodgers.

Yeah I tried that their first year in LA and I just had a lot of trouble with streams. Some weeks I had no problem and had perfect hd streams and others they’d constantly go out or they’d be killed half way through game in middle of a play. Then I had to frantically find a new one. And I just couldn’t stand it anymore lol. Was not good for my blood pressure.

Freaking reminds me of the blockout games !!
Totally sucks, your paying for something you can not even use.

What about Sling ??
Or can cbs still be taken of the free air with those digital antenna’s ??

How DTV is getting played sucks, but nature of the beast. They have controlled the NFL for years. I hated the Dodgers are controlled by Spectrum. Not a big Dodger fan & have the mlb package so can watch
Away from town. Just not on my own tv at my place we’re every so often would be good to flip on. The Angels organization is a joke. Paying Mike Trout 420 & Albert 240 & have been to one playoff game years back.Talk about building a team.
Just like being a draftnik, baseball was always a passion of putting a team together.Could’ve been an excellent GM Comparatively, the same with other fans.

Not trying to blowup the post.
Thanks for the research , Just Venting of frustration & think as a consumer & fans we should be treated fairly. So I think it is legit to try to find a system that works the best each Ram fan .

Thanks again

Thing with sportstream.tv is when you click on "category" an add will come up. You have to "X" it off and do it one or two more times before the list of games come up. When you click on the game you want, it does it again but if you keep doing it, finally several links will come up. Maddening but eventually it works.

I am currently in the process of dropping them too. We are giving Sling a 1 month trial and just got CBS All Access. I have a couple DTV indoor antennas coming and will try the Xbox Streaming for as many Rams games as I can get. DiredTV is going to fold soon. Their yrs of "bullying" people is coming to an end. I just hope the streaming sites work for me. i do have Charter internet, so I hope that helps my chances of getting decent streams. My Amazon FireTV, NetFlix, Sling and CBS AA all come in beautiful with no issues.

I've been doing this for years. I HAVE to be able to watch live, friends text me too much, I don't want to have the game spoiled. I can't just stay away from phone either as I need my phone consistently for work, so...

Setup:
  1. I subscribe to ExpressVPN. About $100/yr. I also use for other things so it's worth it to me for sure.
  2. I login to ExpressVPN and connect to international server (I currently use Mexico, but have used others)
  3. After routing through Mexico, I subscribe to GamePass each year.
On game day, I:
  1. Connect via ExpressVPN to Mexico server.
  2. Login to GamePass.
  3. Pick the Rams game once kickoff happens. Pause, rewind, back 10 seconds, forward 10 seconds (really good for in-between snaps when I'm trying to catch up), all of these are available.
  4. The end.
One weird side effect is if/when you browse ESPN, everything is in spanish (including currencies and such), and this sometimes persists even after you disconnect ExpressVPN. You have to clear cache to clear this sometimes.

In any event, I have loved this the past few years as it completely works for me. Hopefully it helps somebody here as well...

I use HideMyAss for my VPN and buy GamePass. It works well. I connect through Germany. I've been doing it for two or three years.

I thought game pass only gives you the games 15 mins after they end? If so, what's the point of using a VPN? I use IP Vanish VPN and have for years, but that should only be good for live games if u sign in from another country, and even then you would have to subscribe to the ticket. What am I missing here?
