I've always loved Stafford, even before he was drafted, and am unbelievably stoked to see him work in our offense.

Even so, I am hoping Goff has a killer season.

With the Rams nationally televised, I didn't HAVE to buy my weekly GamePass to see it locally. I still bought it because the Lions/9er game is not covered in Seattle. I want Goff to destroy the Whiners and pave the way for a great rebound season.

There, I said it.

Amen to all that. I'll always be a Goff fan for what he did for us.

I hope Goff kills the Whiners and Seahags. I hope he has a great season...just not against us.

Goff had some great games for us. He will always have my gratitude for that.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to see Stafford take this offense to the next level

I could not care less what Goff does one way or the other unless it helps the Rams.

He is just another of the guys trying to keep the Rams from winning the Super Bowl.

Same as JJ and every other former Ram.

With Decker going to IR, it's probably going to be ugly tomorrow against SF, but I'll be rooting for JG.

I love the fact that he was a Ram, but he isn't anymore. I wish him the best. Beat SF!

Goff has left the building and he's an afterthought now.

Wish him well but Stafford was the missing piece for McVay.

Stafford is the reason we can win the SB this year.

Same here! I’m still a Goff fan and hope he does well, just not against us and understand why we traded him. I’ll be watching Lions games to hoping he and that head coach does good. I hope they win the North and shock everyone, but realistically be a 3rd WC team.

Got mixed feelings TBH.

On the one hand, I've been in his corner for four years, and he seems like a genuinely good guy, so I wish him well.

On the other hand, if Goff plays lights-out, there will be more rumblings that Goff's struggles were somehow "McVay's fault" for "micromanaging" him. So TBH if Goff struggles a bit, it's vindication that the Rams were smart to cut bait and move on.

Tomorrow of course I'll be rooting for Goff to beat the Niners.

As far as predictions go... I think Goff is unlucky to have a horrible team around him. The D was dead last in yards and points last year. And although his O-line is pretty good, the WR corps has to be the worst in the league. Sorry to say I predict the Lions will have a miserable season and compete for the #1 pick.

It doesn't matter how well Goff plays, only how well Stafford plays and if he can get the Rams over the hump. Mcvay didn't want to wait anymore for Goff to become the qb he wanted him to be right now.

One game doesn't make a player - but damn, after that KC game in November of 2018 I'd have put down good money that Goff would be a Ram forever.... Then again, a 40 yard toss to Everett to seal it - now both gone. Joyner and Peters with picks - gone today. Ebukam scoop and score. Gone. Cooks 100 yard game. See ya.

Just like sales - what have ya done for me today... :laugh4:

Those pieces would still be enough if we still had Saffold, Sully, and TG playing at 2018 levels.

Yep- I’m actually excited to see what it all brings.Sunday has so many untiring match ups.Last season it was all about The QB’s,still is in a lot of ways.
Don’t want to rain on your parade, but that Goff#16 vs. Jimmy G plus that S. Dakota kid.

Then Hags vs.Colts S. Dakota guy on the bench.Thinking of Nick Foles, did he get hurt against The Rams last season. He sure won a Ring to beat the goat.Thinking Goff ran the wildcat 7 times with a broken thumb against Green Bay.Brady & Foles both catching TD’s. Yeah - still pissed at that 6-10 season.Talking about Greg the Leg & Bones crappy delay of game. Now I’m intrigued by a punter of all things.

—Fitz-magic still play & I remember him hooking up the internet connection for like Linehan 20 years ago.
— classic Josh Allen taken over as the Bad QB in the NFL throwing DLman off him.FYI Allen, not against AD99 & you got lucky last season with that PI.

The Eagles & Falcons the battle of the birds. Pitts vs Hurt ? Ryan is on the tail-end.Just curious to see what he has left to play for ? That lucky pass in LA off his back foot slipping down still gets me upset.Talk about the football God’s.Like BC & his alumni Doug Flutie & Hall Mary.

I’ve watched a lot of football & Cinncy & A. Smith, just glad Oregon finally hung on beat Ohio State.
Now I just hope Herbert doesn’t take a Beating by that Big Bad Blonde coming in from his Blindside.
Young has a motor & playing a home opener.2nd year guy. Hope he doesn’t have that 2nd year like Bosa.Speaking of Bosa.Watch Fitz,Joey don’t know education. He came from QB “I” where they dot the O.

In a nutshell, this is what I think.

For whatever reason, he went off the boil, but when Gurley was on fire, Goff showed what he could really do.
Had some incredible games and we had some championship success.
I don't get the hate, and I dislike the way his departure was handled.
I'll wish the Lions all the best whilst him and Brock are playing for them (except against us).

My first exposure to former QBs that went elsewhere from the Rams was James Harris and Ron Jaworski. I was okay with seeing them do good elsewhere but not vs the Rams.

Harris only played us in preseason, eking out a 26-25 win with the Chargers in 1977. Jaworski started out 0-2 vs us with losses in 1977 and 1978 (not counting another loss in 1977 preseason). But then beat us in 1983. I was tickled to see Jaworski's Eagles knock Dallas out of the playoffs during the 1980 season

Same sentiments with Goff. I'll check on him from time to time out of curiosity. Not that he has to win or lose. But against the enemies from our division I'd like to see him come up with wins. And to better position themselves to do that would mean the Lions should be good enough to be capable of getting the W. So that can all tie together to help put us in an advantage in the division.

Ehh I will always put it down to him not getting a decent center. I still think that was the missing link with Goff.

He has zero mobility and if not given enough time, he wasn't going to do well.

Just look at his 2018 season when he had enough time to throw.

He’s gone. No longer a Ram and out of the division, so I no longer care what he does.

I don’t go out of my way to follow any other former Rams.

"When he had enough time to throw" - there are a metric ton of QBs who would have success with enough time to throw. So much more goes into it than just the OL. Defenses spend thousands of hours scheming to get pressure.

This is a fallacy anyways - because there were games during the 2018 season where the OL got beat and Goff played horribly (Bears, Patriots) - so even for the best OL we've had in however many years, they got beat at times and when they did, it showed how much Goff struggles with pressure relative to other QBs, which is one of the biggest reasons we had to move on.
