Who would you rather keep over the long term as TG’s backup - Malcolm Brown or CJ Anderson? And why?

I don’t think we will be able to afford Anderson after these performances.

CJ, without doubt. But can a Super Bowl winning CJ, afford the small amount we could offer him for his last big contract?

Would love to keep Anderson but Juggs is probably correct. Anderson will be expensive and will probably want to start somewhere. It's up to Snead and Demoff to sell the 'Two-headed' monster' notion to CJ and have him take a deal commensurate with what the Rams can afford. Snead and Demoff are good but are they that good?

It's not a question of who we prefer but whether we can afford CJ. Will he push for the biggest payday possible? Can't blame him for that when the dude was out of work and thought he was done just a few weeks ago. Or will he have some loyalty to the Rams and know he's a fit with us and maybe take less to stay.

I assume he's gone in FA but have to admit there's some hope we find a way to sign him.

CJ will follow the money and he should. Probably his last big contract he’s gonna get.

It entirely depends on what CJ can get on the open market.
He was cut by 3 teams and many feel that RBs are interchangeable.
Can't see Rams putting much more than vet minimum for #2 RB

CJ is obviously the more talented guy. He’s produced at a high level in this league. We could probably have two 1000 yard rushers with him.

In the end, we need to just enjoy him while it lasts. Because there’s a very good chance he takes another job next season. And I wouldn’t blame him at all.

I think John Kelly will fill in admirably next year. The dudes got skills.

I'd think long and hard about making him a decent 2 year deal. I think he can help extend Todd's prime years with a little more rest. I like Malcolm, but CJ is an absolute load to bring down. It would also give John Kelly another year to learn and grow while providing rock solid depth at RB.

It's a good problem to have. Anderson would thrive it a two back situation but some team may be willing to give him RB1 $$$ based on his performance at the end of this season (see SF, TB, OAK, NYJ, MIA, etc).

I'd prefer all 3 tbh. Gurley & Anderson are 1a & 1b. Malcom is our #2, but can get us really tough 4th Q yards. he's got decent hands, decent vision, etc. He's not CJ, but if either CJ or Gurley goes down, who spells them? I like Kelly but we need a COP back. CJ is the perfect complement to Gurley.
Honestly we could replace Peters & Joyner & Suh easier, and get CJ well within budget for 2019. Ya it's a lot of budget to spend on your RB room, but.... gosh, it'd be killer.

Come on flv man. You been drinking too much prune juice again? We could never have done what we did to Dallas with Brown, otherwise we would have tried it. Nor could we have had such a strong running game while Gurley was injured. Plus Anderson is a good pass blocker. Brown has the edge out of receiving out the backfield, but it's not enough to overcome the strengths Anderson has.

Anderdson because he's better at finishing off runs, and falling fwd for positive yards. Hits the holes harder too. love his nimble feet/ jump cut ability as well.

Too funny, seeing C.J. chill on the bench

Brown, though, with the 9 yard runs, the screen game and pass pro.

I’ve gotta give the edge to MB with total love for C.J.

the narrative has changed... a lot.

Great shot. My son and I were laughing so hard at Anderson on the boy's bench like that.

Here's another memorable one of 2018, for better or worse:

That doesn't explain the other games, nor does Brown run with as much authority. So trying to convince me otherwise is like beating a dead horse with a stick. Not that I'm dead... Yet.
