I'm not so sure Brockers moves from DE. He really started to impact the game incredibly well from a run perspective from there and not so much from NT.
I actually think that Easley will platoon at NT with Westbrook and Smart with a possible draft addition.
And I don't think any NT we draft will be a big space eater like the Vea's or Payne's of the world.
The only space-eating NT Phillips ever used to my understanding was Jamal Williams in SD.
It's been mixed. He's used big men like Jamal Williams (San Diego), Ted Washington (Buffalo), and Sylvester Williams (Denver). He's also used smaller guys like Earl Mitchell (Houston), Shaun Cody (Houston), Ed Jasper (Atlanta), and Jay Ratliff (Dallas).
I think Wade is willing to make do with what he has. But personally, I think if he had the choice, he'd choose a talent like Vea, Payne, Settle, Nnadi, Phillips, etc. He'd choose a big man with the athleticism to wreak havoc in the back-field.
I'd be surprised if we don't address the NT position before the end of Day 2. This Draft is stocked with guys who are great fits for his scheme.
I will also note that being big doesn't mean you're just a space eater. Jamal Williams and Ted Washington were much more than space-eating DTs. They just also happened to be massive men. Sylvester Williams was drafted to be more than that, but he didn't quite pan out. Wade wants a guy who can penetrate and put pressure on the opposing offense, but it sure helps if they're also massive and country strong.
