There is an article about The Rams in negotiations with Dominic Easley .

He was doing well in camp before his injury. Wade was really high on him. The Rams waited to let the FA market clear up a little.

I think it gets done soon. He is a good player with a lot of value. Will see how things workout , but I like his play. Wondering how is injury is though .

Can't hurt to have more DL depth, but we need a NT.

Yes and yes. Minimum cost for what we know he can do...when healthy. I'm guessing the contract will take this into consideration.

Durability is always a concern,I look forward to them adding a NT in the draft.

Easley at DE with Brock going back to NT and I think we have a nice formidable starting DL. Now just get the ILB and OLB Snead and we'll be beastly. Let's ride man.. :D

Easley can’t be counted on to be a starter. He’s a depth signing to back up Donald/Brockers. Brockers needs to stay at the 5 tech position.

I think Brock should stay put. He excelled since being moved from NT. Aren't there still some FA options and plenty of draft options for NT?

Easley has been one of those chronically injured players. I'll take him, but with a grain of salt!

I'm not so sure Brockers moves from DE. He really started to impact the game incredibly well from a run perspective from there and not so much from NT.

I actually think that Easley will platoon at NT with Westbrook and Smart with a possible draft addition.

And I don't think any NT we draft will be a big space eater like the Vea's or Payne's of the world.

The only space-eating NT Phillips ever used to my understanding was Jamal Williams in SD.

How was the run defense with Williams in SD, if you know? Our run defense was the stand out issue for the Rams in 2017. Maybe Wade should try a fatty...like really, really fat and see how it goes...lol

Experience, depth, some pass rush ability, scheme fit. His durability is less of a concern if he's a rotational guy. I want him here.

yea I agree with the consensus, Brockers will probably stay at DE where he excelled, and we cannot rely on Easley to come back just fine. He's proven to be unreliable, I still think we draft DLine early.

Thomas Davis was his best when he was 30 and after 3 acl tears to the same knee so I don't dismiss anyone who has the heart to play and Easley seems like that kinda guy. His injuries may only help the rams get a stud for next to nothing.

So we move Brockers out of NT into the LDE spot and he excels and now we fans want to move him back to NT? Nah add a NT and leave the guy where he kicked butt.

What's wrong with putting Brockers at the MIKE next Barron.;)

It looks like we have an ILB, an OLB and a NT opening to fill out the defense. I am hopeful we fill one of these spots with a FA. Then unless a stud (e.g. Vita Vea, Tremaine Edmunds) falls to us at 1.23 in the draft - it seems logical to trade back for a Round 2 & Round 3 pick to help fill out the other 2 defensive slots.

It's been mixed. He's used big men like Jamal Williams (San Diego), Ted Washington (Buffalo), and Sylvester Williams (Denver). He's also used smaller guys like Earl Mitchell (Houston), Shaun Cody (Houston), Ed Jasper (Atlanta), and Jay Ratliff (Dallas).

I think Wade is willing to make do with what he has. But personally, I think if he had the choice, he'd choose a talent like Vea, Payne, Settle, Nnadi, Phillips, etc. He'd choose a big man with the athleticism to wreak havoc in the back-field.

I'd be surprised if we don't address the NT position before the end of Day 2. This Draft is stocked with guys who are great fits for his scheme.

I will also note that being big doesn't mean you're just a space eater. Jamal Williams and Ted Washington were much more than space-eating DTs. They just also happened to be massive men. Sylvester Williams was drafted to be more than that, but he didn't quite pan out. Wade wants a guy who can penetrate and put pressure on the opposing offense, but it sure helps if they're also massive and country strong.
