"I don't understand why our guys are not part of this process" - Mike McCarthy, on his assistants being in demand for coaching positions - 10/01/15

Yet when one of his guys is offered an interview...
Eff these dudes, go to hell GB & Cleveland or wherever Chud is...Get some new blood...Hell, I'd look at a Pro-style in college or give it to Cig....

Colts blocking Rob Chudzinski from all OC jobs

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Colts will not allow special assistant Rob Chudzinski out of his contract for any offensive-coordinator jobs.

The Rams, 49ers, and Bears have all requested permission to interview Chudzinski, but the Colts have denied those requests. Chudzinski entered the fold in Indianapolis ahead of the 2014 season and was a helping hand in Andrew Luck's league-leading 40-touchdown season. Chudzinski also gets a ton of credit for the production of the Colts' tight ends. The Colts may be holding onto Chudzinski in the event OC Pep Hamilton gets a head-coach job in the near future.

Fisher and our front office need open their minds up and look harder. It's not like there are only 2 or 3 potential offensive coordinators who can take the Rams to the next level.

I'm sure some college coaches could do it. It's not my job to know which college coaches can succeed in the NFL. But it is the job of the Ram's front office. Find the next Chip Kelly.

I'm tired of digging thru the NFL recycling bin for coaches.

I have a feeling it's has something to do with LA. Perhaps what you said or perhaps people don't want the job and are telling their teams to deny permission.
That could be the reason, too. Don't want to move to StL only to have to move to LA in 2016 . . . because even if teams can deny permission, I've rarely heard of it done. It's always, IMO, been an unwritten rule that if a guy is going to be promoted (even if not a HC) then the team with the contract allows their guy to go and make more money.

IMO this is weird.

Fine, we'll just wait for their contracts to expire. That's no big deal.

Colts are doing Chud a disservice, I can only hope that this causes some friction between the two parties.

Certainly makes a lot more sense than the theories that the Colts or Chud himself have something against the Rams.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't really remember assistant coaches ever being denied an interview. And it happens twice to us?

Unless it happens more often than I'm aware, it appears something very strange is going on.
It's happened multiple times this offseason to more than the Rams...perhaps you just didn't notice because who really pays attention to position coaches getting interviews with other teams really?

Heck, at this pace, we'll hate every other team in the NFL. :)

I'll tell you man... I'm just about there. Colts have always been a team I respected, but I am irked by that maneuver to say the least. Same deal with Green Bay, total douche move especially since QB coach to OC is a big upgrade position and they were whining in the effing press about their guys not being considered. McCarthy can suck it.

I stopped wasting that negative energy a while ago. Maybe that just happens when you get older (and I am older! :)).

I'll concentrate on the Rams:
* Who will they get as new OC
* How will they shore up that Oline
* Who's going to play QB?
* The Draft
* Free Agents
* Will the team start out strong (for once)?

Plenty to energize me... if the Rams don't get so-and-so... or the Patriots are cheating... nothing I can do about that.

All I can do is sit back and watch things develop and hope.
