So glad that the reality box has been checked and the 49ers lost. I liked JimmyG in the draft and I'm sure he's going to be a decent QB, the hype train wasn't driven by him, and he shouldn't be tarred and feathered because of it. It was still a match against the Vikings (not an easy team/place to win against).

What I can enjoy though is his INT ratio, I'm sure we have some guys in the secondary that are looking forward to some Pick 6 action ;)

The weather in Minnesota was better today than most areas of the country and James "Jimmy" Richard Garoppolo does not walk on water as today the Minnesota Vikings were my Second Favorite team. Next week my second favorite team will be the Detroit Lions.
Yeah, it looked sunny and warm.............. :ROFLMAO:

Jimmy G made some damn good passes today. He also made some damn bad ones. Down the road I think he will be a good QB. He is going to give the Rams trouble for a few years to be sure.

I'm not gonna "write him on" (is that a thing?) either.

Nope sorry. When you beat teams with 4 wins or less, or those that are resting all their starters, I'm not gonna appoint him as some savior. Dude is overrated and overhyped.

I'm really interested to see the narrative on him this week. Jared Goff would be destroyed. Jimmy Garawhatever will get passes (but they might be intercepted).

Maybe overhyped.....but the dude lead a team that was 1-10 and won 5 straight. Not sure it really matters what the records of your opponents are when you are playing on a team as bad as SF was.

He's a below average starter who's feet are disconnected from his upper body, who sees ghosts in the pocket and appears to have night sweats at the mention of an interior pass rush.

And now the league has tape on him.

Good night Jimmy G, your reign is over before it started.

I hear at GMFB that SF played the best D and Garapolo looked good - REALLY?

I don't think so. He overthrew receivers, threw behind and over causing ints totally his fault neither play he was massively pressured. The key to a good QB in this league is one thing accuracy not escapability, not a rocket arm but just throwing the ball in the spot it needs to be. Did you see Aaron Rodgers last night - he could not move he was a statue with not even a strong back foot to throw off of. His accuracy and only his accuracy created that comeback. If you look at the catches by the receivers on the bomb in the endzone and the catch over the middle that went for a TD both were pin point laser accurate something Jimmy G lacks currently.

A QBs play is never as good or as bad as it looks to us. Supposedly on the pick six, the receiver ran the route wrong. That being said, his stat line was pretty bad!!!!! :)

The Whiners lack playmakers on offense and that makes Jimmy look bad when he tries to do too much. He made several accurate throws and Shanny called a very good game. He really knows how to use the tight end position to bind the defense. The 9’er defense was far better than I expected. They fought well and lost to an excellent team.

But that pick six made me smile. Peters and Talib are licking their chops.

He also missed dudes that were open and outside of a few "wow" passes cost his team the game with inaccuracies and bad decisions.

The dude is a dangerous QB to face because he can make those wow throws at times. But he is not careful with the ball and never will be, and his accuracy is streaky.

Reality check is that Garoppolo has always been turnover-prone. It's in his QB DNA. In college he threw 118 INTs over four seasons, to include FIFTY THREE in one season. Then he had 5 INTs in limited action last year before SF threw money at him.

Writing him off after one game isn't what it's about. It's seeing the dude for who he is. IMO.

Oh and btw...

SF played a pretty good game considering @ Minnesota in the opener. They opened good holes vs that defense in the run game but were sunk by the pick six and the final INT to end the game. Showed some good team chemistry staying in that one.

While we're on NFC West rivals, the Shehawks are doomed this year. Keenum threw 3 INTs and they still couldn't beat a juggernaut Denver team... :p
I’m not sure if I’m missing a joke here but those stats just aren’t accurate. Sorry if there was implied sarcasm or something, but those INT numbers you have are his TD numbers.

yes yes yes this!!!!

I saw this, I think it was in the 3rd quarter when the Vikings started to realize he didn't like pressure in his face. He gets happy feet and doesn't want to be hit. That's when all the INT's and overthrows started to happen. If G-string doesn't get this corrected teams are going to Tee off on him and he's going to have a long long year.

Man, I figured that out last year. He also loves to roll left. Maybe I should pass some notes to defensive coordinators.

Yesterday Rodgers and Cousins earned their keep.

Garapolo was grossly over paid.

Lets see next week what happens. One game is not enough IMO

But my thoughts (and whiner hate hopes) he is the next high dollar bust.

Mack was insane last night.
