I would love to hear your list.

I never understood fans who went out of their way to prove something bad about a player on their team. Goff is easily the best QB we’ve had since Warner. We went 13-3 this year. What the freak else do you want?

I want a playoff win . If saturday goff carries this team to a victory , I might re-think things ...untill then , I think he is a GOOD QB , VERY GOOD , but not elite . The media thinks goff will choke saturday , I hope they are wrong , I really do

Personally, I think this whole "elite" tag is an internet created arguing point.

3 years in the league.
2 pro bowls.
2 division titles
2 11+ win seasons.
But he's not a top 10 qb? Yea....okay
You say they're 10 better, go ahead and name them. I wanna see this.

he is ranked 8th here . I don't agree , I think ryan and baker were more impressive than him this season . So , imo , he would be ranked at 10 th . anyway , even at 8th ...that is not elite . Elite is top 3 or maybe top 5 . and he is not there . not yet .

So you want goff to win a playoff game to even think about giving him the elite label.
Then turn around and say two QB who didn't even get to the playoffs are better?
Your hypocrisy in this thread is embarrassing.

For a lot of your post on this topic I have not totally disagreed with you. I can understand why some dont think he is elite. But that list you reference is an absolute joke and to say Ryan and Mayfield are ahead of Goff makes me scratch my head a little.

Also any list that has Brady in the top 10 never mind top 5 is a broken list.

Goff doesnt have to be elite in your mind, but I dont understand any argument that does not have him in their top 10

let me rephrase it then . I want to see goff NOT folding and choking under pressure, . ryan didn't make the playoffs , it is true , but it is a TEAM SPORT ( von miller didn't make the playoffs either , don't you think he is elite ? I can go on and on about elite players that didn;t make the playoffs ) . ryan made the playoffs last year , actually beat us , ryan got MVP and ryan got to the superbowl . you can argue about baker.....whatever ...still puts goff at number 9 ....not elite .

cmon man , ryan was MVP !! ryan carried his team to a SB ! ryan beat goff last year ! how is that you put goff ahead of him ? forget about baker . lets put goff before baker . ok . done . But goff over ryan ?

if you put ryan before him , goff is number 9 . In my mind elite would be top 5 at least , ideally top 3 . You do agree goff is NOT top 5 at least , right ?

You do realize ryan had the biggest choke job in NFL history right?
But keep moving the goalpost..it's cute.

the choke job was MVP and put 28 points on the patriots in the SB . Not his fault his defense ate 28 points in 15 minutes and blew a 28 point lead . Again , do you know that this is a TEAM sport ?

Its absolutely his fault that he basically shut it down after those 28 points. I'm well aware football is a team sport.

ok , so the fact that his defense ate 28 points in 15 minutes , doesn't need to be taken into consideration ?

Do you? You remind me of another guy that used to post on here that could never ever let it go. We get it. You do not like Goff and even when, yes I said when, he helps this TEAM win a SB and then has an off game you will be right back on your soapbox.

Oh and based on the list you refer to saying the top 3 are elite, so Mahomes is elite? LOL ok. He might be someday but one season does not make one elite. Hell 2 seasons does not make one elite, that takes many years. But Goff is a very very good QB and like many have said on here already, I would not trade him for any QB playing in the NFL right now.

Did the offense not possess the ball in those 15 min if so what happened?
Sorry elite mvp quarterbacks dont choke on a 28 point lead.
You dont hold goff to the same standard as other quarterbacks. Its been proven with luck and now ryan.
Plus this is coming from a "rams fan"
Embarrassing.

The Ryan you are referencing was 2 seasons ago, the guy who was held scoreless in the 2nd half of the SB, who held on to the ball too long leading to sacks and fumbled the season away lol.....sort of tongue and cheek as he had a great year. But he did suck last year and this year he had a nice bounce back. Im a Ryan fan, Im a BC grad and wanted the Rams to draft him so Im not hating on the player.

But if we are talking about the last 2 seasons, I would take Goff's consistency over Ryan. Dont get me wrong its close, but I like Goff better and think he still has room to grow.

To answer your question, I do not have a top 5. For me there is a top 4 then another tier of really good players.
Brees
Mahomes
Wilson
Rodgers, reluctantly because I think he is a azzhat.

After that a case can be made for: Goff, Big Ben, Rivers, Luck, Mayfield, Watson, Wentz, etc.

To me there is no clear 5, a case can be made for many of them, but that me lol.

I'm gonna stick up for the guy here... he never said he didn't like Goff (as best I can tell)... he's arguing over the stupid elite tag... many here are... it's an exercise in futility, but - to each his own - I suppose.

But I'm nt reading he doesn't like Goff. Big difference.

Now... carry on with the "Elite Police";)

Sorry that offends so many on here for me to have this opinion, but it's not like I kicked your dog or f***ed your wife

That line right there is offensive and has no place on this board, in my opinion.

Agreed he's better than competent. But riddle me this... if he pulls an RG3 or Wentz or Nick Foles (rd 1) or Sam Bradford before he got hurt the many many times or whomever else were short lived highlight reel, are they all Elite. /QUOTE]

I doubt that it comes to your riddle but no, if he regresses badly, he would not be.

Exactly. People Were extremely ticked with me when I replied saying Goff is not elite....My reply was flaged multiple times as " inappropriate". I was just stating my opinion. How is that inappropriate?? People need to stop with the fanatism and homerism. Even as a fan of the same team if you make a harsh critic about a player or a coach they will act like you are hitting on their wives or stealing their money. They take it very serious and they take it as personal insult . It is unbelievable. Well, Goff under pressure and without kupp is barely completing 55% of this throws. Not to mention he gets rattled easily and can't take care of the ball. That is hardly ELITE. I will leave it at that. Imo. There are at least 10 qbs better than him this season. Again, not elite. Elite to me is top 3 or top 5.
You have 8 inappropriates in your short time here? Maybe you should think about HOW you say things and address members and/or the team - and spend a little time reading the terms and conditions of being a member.

Also, saying people are offended simply because you have a different take is weak. Members here don’t generally get “offended” because you have a different take on a player. If you’re being a dick about it, then I could see it.

Regardless, you probably need to get a better feel for THIS board or find another place to hang.

Yeah.... maybe you need to rethink how you deal with people around here. If you think this is a cool way to be, you don’t know where you are.

I put him in the very good (almost elite) category because when he is on - he makes passes that most other QBs wouldn't come close to completing. I think he will continue to improve because the only area that is holding him back slightly is his occasional bad decision making on where to throw the ball.

There are times where - wow Goff - you had Gurley open to the left with no one within 10 yards of him on that play.
Throw the ball to him for probably 10 or more yards instead of throwing 30 yards to a receiver that is covered by 3 guys.
