Darnold probably won't be cheap and he needs a lot of work. If I'm a WCO team I'd go after Minshew. I'd love to see him backing Goff up, IMO that would be a really nice duo for us.

Even with a good guy like Goff having someone on the chart who is an option to start is a nice motivator. And I know some don't like Minshew but he fits the WCO quite well, comes cheap in terms of cap hit, and shouldn't cost as much as a guy who was a high first rounder.

Plus, as I said on another thread a while back, Minshew has the look of a TV show undercover narcotics detective who doesn't always play by the rules. He'd be a great fit in LA on that alone.

Take Trevor and trade Sam for whatever you can get.

Shouldn't be a hard decision.

If I'm the jets I tank for trevor. If I'm trevor I stay another year hoping the jets are not picking #1.

I really don't get this line of thought. Like, OK you go back to school and hopefully don't get hurt. Then you're back for the Lions or some other loser team that has no structure to draft you unless some team like the Steelers trade up for you. Teams pick in the top 5, first overall for good reasons.

I totally agree, there have been quite a few guys stay an extra year, and it didnt pay off. Matt Leinert and Jake Locker come to mind. I dont know why anyone would risk that. Especially after the impact Covid has had. And as far as the Jets go, who says they arent drafting #1 overall again next year?

Minshew is under contract for 2 more years in Jax, dont see why Jax would trade him unless somebody saw him as a starter and offered up a high pick.

Take Lawrence. In my honest opinion, he's the best QB prospect since Manning. Peyton Manning, not Eli.

Lawrence has already stated that he's considering staying in school.

I think if the Jets have the #1 pick, he stays in school. I would.\

Tanking for a prospect that might not even come out is silly.

I still think Darnold is an NFL QB myself. I think he would be an upgrade for several teams around the league.

I'd take Lawrence, but I'd also try to get a coach who knows WTF he's doing. Gase may have been a decent OC, but man is he ever a lousy HC.

But yes, if I'm the Jets, I take Lawrence, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Dillon Radunz, anyone who can be an upgrade to the offense. I'd trade Quinnen Williams for a nice haul to some team willing to give up a first and more. Darnold to a needy team for a second and change. Make a great offensive team. Defense can come later, but I'd make one side of the ball elite. With Lawrence, Becton, and Mims, they're almost there.

I take Lawerence and see what I can do to trade away Darnold for something decent to draft a wr or OL for him.

Martz was a better HC than Gase, he at least won something. His problems as a head coach were two-fold. One, he failed to adapt his offense, probably due to the giant bruise his ego took from the Super Bowl loss. And two, he was more or less given the GM keys, and he was absolutely lousy at that part.

But yeah, I think his best work was done as an OC under a strong HC like Vermeil. At least he then had someone to check his crazier tendencies that eventually did him in.

Martz was a great OC. But he needed someone holding his leash tight. When left to his own devices, he fucked everything up.

He backtracked on that. Said this past weekend that was his last game at home.
