In other words, how many here are or were in the actual football business, as in playing (college level or higher), or coaching, scouting, analytics, etc (high school or higher) as opposed to just fans like me?

Were you there during the Hal Mumme Era?? They had a pretty good QB back then until Mumme had him throw 80 passes a game. Haha!!

Props to you man, D1 is D1 !!!!
He was recently arrested for refusing to leave a Hyatt Recency hotel in Lexington Ky.

Thats a good area to have land in the Mesilla Valley! I love it down there, it’s so peaceful.

Never heard of Ricky Proehl brother going to school down there, that’s new news to me!

What kind of chili do you guys grow down there?
Anaheim chili mostly. I haven’t been there in a long time though. We live on the Southern Oregon Coast.

The most I played football was pickup games. I played basketball in my freshman and sophomore years at a private high school (co-ed teams), but football was always my first love.

Here's a memory from my playing days that still haunts me... Remember, imagine me saying it in Al Bundy's voice.

There was a RB that played for Apopka HS that was a full grown MFer. He went on to play in The League (NFL)... Sammy Smith. Back in HS he ripped of chunk yards and broke into the secondary almost every time. He was like a run away train. I think he was 230 running like a gazelle and I was the last line of defense playing Safety on most plays. He had thighs like Earl Campbell... it fucking hurt me laying a hit on him. I liked to think that I loved contact... he made it a potential suicide mission.

I still have dreams of that big fuck running down the sideline and me having to try and stop him without whiffing. It hurt hitting him low... like jumping into a meat grinder.

I went to Herkimer for 2 years and was an all-american. When I met with the coach (Simmons?) he told me they usually don't give defensemen scholarships, but he had some offers out there and, if any of those were not accepted, he would be able to get me some money. I think Syracuse was around 7K per year back then. Well, the three guys accepted the scholarships so I ended up in Geneseo and eventually gave up lacrosse. You must have won an NCAA championship, right? Tell me more if you don't mind. Are you from around here? You must be if you were that good in lacrosse.

Yeah I grew up in Upstate..

Without giving to much personal info away, I played for a ranked small school team south of syracuse.

When you say “here” do you still live there?

I played Oline and Dline in peewee football. Then I played sparingly at cornerback in high school.

The movie "Rudy" hadn't come out yet so I never thought about trying out for college football. :)
