I think it's really worth remembering if we win today, we're in the playoffs. Hard to believe how fast we get spoiled: Four straight winning seasons under McVay. Before that, from 1990 through 2016 (over two and a half DECADES) = four winning seasons. Unreal...

I think we play well and win today, and then play two tough games against two playoff teams. Good tune-up games.

Look for Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams to air it out against New York Jets

Jets (0-13) at Rams (9-4)
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET | Fox
Matchup rating:
49.6 | Spread: LAR -17.5 (43.5)
What to watch for: The Rams' offense has rebounded since a Week 12 loss to the 49ers, but watch for coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff to potentially try to open up the playbook and find connections deep downfield against a struggling Jets defense that is allowing 286.8 passing yards per game, which ranks 31st in the NFL. Entering Sunday, Goff is averaging 6.18 air yards per attempt, which ranks 33rd out 35 qualified passers. -- Lindsey Thiry
Bold prediction: Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will record at least two sacks and at least two run stuffs (tackles for zero or negative yards). An elite interior pass-rusher each week, he now faces a team with two backup guards in Pat Elflein and Josh Andrews. -- Rich Cimini
Stat to know: The Rams lead the NFL in total defense (285.9 yards per game), while the Jets are last in total offense (269.8).

Playoff/draft picture: The Rams can clinch a playoff berth with a win. Additionally, they have a 67.5% chance to take home the NFC West by the end of the season, per FPI. The winless Jets have a 53% chance of losing out, which would ensure the No. 1 pick in the draft. They are currently the favorite, with a 75.4% chance to have the first pick.

The Rams being third in time of possession in the NFL kind of illustrates how McVay has transformed this team into a ball control team rather than a team that was able to win in scoring shootouts.
I think they open it up today with Jets bad Pass Defense. Goff could use a big game about now.
Defense is peaking, run game is rolling and next Goff starts going off. all at the perfect time of the year

It's weird to think of this as another statement game, but it really is. If they can win this game - and win it comfortably, without stress - it goes that much further to demonstrate that they are legitimate super bowl contenders. Not because the Jets are good - they are most assuredly not - but because that's what really good teams do: just take care of business. They have to prove - to themselves if not to everybody else - that they are actually elite, and elite teams don't take games off against the weakest squads.

In other words, it's show time. Go get a big win and let everyone know that you are in this to win it all.

My nose is big, uh-uh I'm not ashamed
Big like a pickle, I'm still gettin' paid

Both how I'm livin' and my nose is large

I'm ok with saving the air-show until next week when Goff makes Seattle his bitch (again)

I think it is more to do with McVay learning over the past few seasons that if he keeps the D fresh they can wreak havoc. The D was good under Wade, but at times it seemed they just couldnt get off the field. Being fresh they can dominate and just seem to be able to really get after it on 3rd down.
