I'll support Fisher unless he decides to draft guys with known character issues in the first round (much like he did in Tennessee with Pacman Jones, Haynesworth, and Britt). That's the only reason why I wouldn't support this hiring full-heartedly.

Like him or not, he is our new head coach, and we ought to give him time to prove himself.

Courtland Finnegan has already said he wouldnt mind coming to StL to play for Fisher again. I cant stand him. He is a punk. If we start bringing in guys like that I wont be happy either.
Yeah, that dude's a douche. Glad Andre Johnson whipped his ass too. Which begs the question. How many of the other knuckleheads are now willing to be a Ram? Haynesworth? Pacman?

For some reason don't even feel real excited as I remember I was when spags was hired.

Ditto. Hopefully we start winning and that all changes though.

To me Fisher portrays a sense of stability and consistency that we have been lacking for years. Obviously its too early, but i think its a great hire.

I've been lobbying for stability for years now. Hopefully they get it right this time.

And.... welcome to the forum, money!

Yep definitely will. And bringing Lake Dawson in to balance the USC-ND connection on the Rams. :bign:

Best case is he builds the team into the winner and when retires a new coach will have an excellent roster.

Worst case is what he did in Tennessee: Mediocrity.

And I agree w/ who posted they want to see results ASAP. He has all this hype, he better fuckin deliver.

I believe the Rams will be super good the next five years at least and a large portion of credit should go to Spags/BD for doing most of the building. I think Fisher can take the Rams to the next level now.

+1. Devaney/Spags put a ton of effort and as a result Fisher is gonna have a better roster than what Spags took over. Any success in 2012 should be credited heavily to Spags/Devaney.

Not so fast....JF might blow this team up. If so the credit is his and SK.

Do you want him to blow this team up? I sure don't.

WRs could be mostly gone. O-line will be major overhaul. D-line will have work done, secondary too. It doesn't matter what we want. JF wants to win and will do whatever it takes.

Some good moves by the previous regime, some terrible, clearly. Lots of bad luck as well.

Say goodbye to nearly 35% of the roster and rightfully so. yes there are some good building blocks, for certain. Maybe a handfull of guys, I'm not into buying the ice the eskimos were selling upon their departure and am well awre of the injury situations. They (Spags and Billy) are true class acts but this roster is talent depleted minus about six or seven core players. I believe only ~ 25 make it through the first year turnover and not nearly all of them are long termers, just bridge gappers.

I believe this will be a really tough and feared team by the '13 season like the good Titan teams. Nobody ever looked forward to playing a Jeff Fisher coached team, ever.

I doubt he is going to "blow this team up". I am pretty sure it is the key players that helped lure him here. Also, keep in mind that we have - last I checked - 22 free agents this next season and a pretty fair amount of cap room. He could come in, put his stamp on this team and all he'd have to do is fill those spots with his type of guys.

I think it'd be a pretty safe bet that he got assurances that he would have the backing of ownership in his pursuit of key players to fill out his roster. I will look forward to seeing what he does with that wad of cash.

Define "blow-up". In my mind, blow-up is what Devaney did in '09, jettisoning a lot of veteran dead weight.

WRs mostly gone? Are you talking Gibson, DX, Clayton, Curry? I could handle that, but some others might take issue. Lloyd has to be a keeper, if he comes back. But Amendola, Salas, Pettis? Let's not cull the herd too much.

There's work to be done on the roster, for sure, but blow-up? As 503 said, 22 of the roster spots are FAs, so how much dead weight is there? Don't count the roster fill-ins, as most wouldn't have been in the Rams plans in any case.
