Wow, there's so much good talent there - especially in the next 20 guys or so.
If we could trade back, we would still have many great options - perhaps not the guys we here on the forum are dreaming about...but still. Heck, I'd be happy with a couple of the defensive players left, even though we need offense.

I'm at least calling Green Bay to see what they want to swap picks.

I'd give a 4th rounder next year to go get Lamp.

Looking at @CGI_Ram excellent list....CB'....DE/OLB....OL.....Safety....I'd grab a WR later....and yes a trade back to get an extra player in the 2nd or 3rd would be the best move.

I think just because we have drafted Oline before, doesn't mean they are any good. Last year we were a dumpster-fire on the Oline. I am leery about the whole "let the coaches coach them up, idea"..because I haven't seen any of that since Vermeil. Time to eat your veggies, kurtfaulk....that Wide Reciever cake will give you cavities!

What the new staff thinks of our OL will likely drive that decision. No way for us to know tbh, we're going off of what we saw on the field last year but the staff will be projecting the holdover talent based on film study and what they've seen in OTAs and might feel very differently than we do on some of them.

The good thing here is that IF the OL is a primary concern there will be an option at 37. IF not and they feel WR is the primary concern there are multiple receiving options who might be able to play split end which is the Rams' position of need. And finally the third position that might be the top need--CB--is also going to be well represented at 37. I'm sure it's possible they covet some other positions, but I think the choice will be within those three due to the needs I perceive.

Honestly we are sitting very well right now. If they snap up, say, Zay Jones, or Feeney/Lamp, I'm going to trust they know what they're doing.

I was banging the table for a trade up last night in the chat room and all over Twitter. There are no excuses why we can't land Lamp. He's right there in front of us, get it done! If he is picked right before us I'm going to cry and lose my shit lol.. but seriously this kid will be a S.T.U.D.

If McSnead take OL at 37, you can bet at least 2 of the recent OL they drafted are going to be gone before the season starts. We already know from their recent player moves (releasing Barnes, signing Whitworth and Sullivan) that they felt the OL was their biggest priority.

I still believe the starting OL will look nothing like what anyone thinks.

I'll start by sharing I'm frustrated how well SF AND Seattle did yesterday. Some very smart moves by both.

Like many of you, I think we can finally lay to rest the whole "BPA" argument. Very, very few teams took that approach. Instead, it was "BPA in our position of need!"

I won't pretend to know what the Rams' plans are. That said, I simply think we have too many holes to fill and not enough picks to fill them, obviously. I think it's imperative we do all we can for Goff in terms of both weapons and protection (sorry, Wade!). Given that so many top players dropped, there isn't a true distinguished/obvious WR out there (but many nice options) and we have so many holes, I don't recall a better time to trade back.

Of course, that requires a trade partner. I would be willing to move to the early/mid-50's in return for a late 3rd/early 4th pick in this draft. I think it's that deep. Just my opinion.

Here is how I would like to see it play out under both staying put and trading back:

Stand pat
2nd If Lamp gone, WR- Jones/JJ
3rd TE- Everett/Butt/Shaheen
4th OL/CB

*Notice how one of 4 positions of need (not even including FS) go unattended. Tough to find contributors after round 5, exceptions aside.

Trade down to early/mid 50's
2nd OL- Feeney/Elflein OR Godwin/Kupp
3rd OL (Pocic?)/WR depending on mid 50's pick above
3rd/4th via trade TE- Everett/Butt/Shaaheen
4th CB

In this deep of a CB draft and given our needs, I wait until the 4th.

I would be stoked to have Lamp. I think he is gone by our pick, but that would be awesome.

Or Saffold cutting his salary would help a ton.

Browns to release Gary Barnidge (sp?) sometime today. That could fill our TE need . We got players left to cut for cash. If after seeing our OL talent in practices we may NEED to go OL earlier than most want . Then WR/CB/EDGE Rush/LB/RB/NT.. We need too much help for this season. :deadhorse:

We don't need RB/NT/Edge/ this draft.
The other position are a full blown need.

I disagree as I'm not sure what Gurley we are getting this season after watching every college game he had. I saw some give up in him last season. We lose our best backup RB with no one in his league on roster. Brown nor the little man are stud enough to replace a hurt Gurley. I don't care for Ex coach Williams hybrid LB for Wades 3-4 defense. Would be nice if we could grab Vandy's sideline to sideline LB with our next pick but won't happen. We also need a two down NT as our backup to our (LSU run stopper who needs lots of breaks) back up to fill out this roster. Our guy needs major weightroom help. Too much of a fatty. Just what I see as a 50 + year Rams fan. I like Godwin over Zay at WR myself. Just too many needs. Must extend Donald and will hurt our FA haul next season. We probably NEED to grab Feeney or Elflein as our next pick. Sullivan is duct tape. We screwed up with Groy. Gonna take Jared time anyway. :icare:
