Yeah, I was bummed when Young was traded. Really liked him as ILB.

Yeah - ok ? Looking back at Young as a Rams LBer he didn’t even get any playing time under Phillips.
Then with Staley he would flash & make plays, but missed on some big plays.
Raheem Morris he was playing at a high level early, but got back to some of his bad habits. When he was traded I was surprised, but made SENSE.

When Young was traded it free’d up $5 million in cap space. Then DJ1 did his thing.Free’d up more cap space.

That was the reason The Rams could trade for Von Miller. The Bronco’s had also signed M. Kiser of The Rams practice squad.Made SENSE because both Ram players played in Staley’s Defensive system OG Bronco’s HC.
The OBj thing was different, but DJ1 opened up that roster spot as well as extra cap room.
The TRUTH was Raheem Morris which so many posters were bashing on handed over the Reins after grooming Ernest Jones. He took over for Kenny Young.
Les Snead played all the cards right & The Rams coaching staff really did an excellent job coaching players up.

—Troy Reeder though has always worked hard & gotten better.I saw him in OTA’s the first time SOFI was really ever opened. My GF & I sat there in front of the LBer group.Young was not there ? Floyd was just having fun on a veteran days off.
Anyway— I’ll continue but Troy Reeder is a good locker room guy & like Bonifay’d says never missed games.

I go back to my time at Carson(Xhargers stadium) the little things I have been able to witness & training camps are priceless to me.I do my thing & know early on Snead & Demoff knew I was a little crazy of a fan.

Training camp-
The thing was like yelling at Big Whit telling hiw come he is going to be a HOFer. Taken extra time with Noteboom & Havenstien. Showing his train of thought on a pass rush.Helping them with there stance & footwork.

Watching at SOFI the last OTA was super cool.I feel I was the one who started it all off.I wish I knew what Old Time Ram player that entered with me as he went down the escalator.Didn’t know how to ask him who he was because I think I should’ve known.A big guy & from the 70’s.
Mcvay is such a good(great) HC in the way he runs The Rams season to season. He has probably the best system in The NFL when it comes to leadership & mentoring.

Like I said I can go on & on. The guy during the 1 OTA practice was Bobby Brown. He looked real good compared to some of the other D”Lineman.I think Ram Fans are going to be so surprised. Then again during training camp he was sort of hurt & didn’t look the same.I was very surprised to see such a fall back from one practice to the other.
Brings me back to Kenny Young. At first during training camp I though he was going to get cut.I read it totally wrong.Kes Snead was asking him to take on more of a leadership role.He was out of position a lot because he would over play it & or get to the play to soon. Either way when you can’t tackle & watching different things going on it doesn’t look right.

The thing about Mcvay is his mentoring system. He has always brought in those Great players.
The list of FA players is long.An example Suh - Matthews- & Weedle.
Talib as well.

The post is about Bobby Wagner so it makes SENSE Mcvay would want to bring in Bobby Wagner, especially with such a sponge of a young player like Ernest Jones.Learning to be a Pro from The Best Pro’s & seeing how they put on there jock strap is priceless.

Old Mike Singletary pulling down his pants as a HC crosses the line on all accounts.you have to know your place & your role as a model.

I can see the Rams offering Wagner a 3 year deal with the third year being a void year to spread the cap. $11M each year with a cap hit of $4M this year and $6M next year. He can retire after that leaving about $12M dead cap which is manageable.

Sign or don't sign Wagner isn't a crucial piece. I still feel that the Rams will try to trade for Hunter who offers a more long term solution opposite Floyd. When you look at Hunter's "restructure" it was to get them under the cap and actually makes it even more obvious he is trade bait.

I would rather have OBJ and Michel than Wagner. Wagner is frosting on the cake. Hunter gives them a legit edge opposite Floyd like they had with Von.

Hunter is a dream for me. But not sure what assets they have to really trade for him.

That'd be great if they'd take a deal like that.
Snead doesn't care about picks. If the FO and coaches realy want Hunter they will spend 2 or 3 high picks. The real question will be the $$$ Hunter will demand for a new contract. FA produced some crazy numbers...idk

Why do you see the Vikings trading Hunter, at this point?

27yr old EDGE with 3 seasons >12.5 sacks... Why don’t they just keep him?

I only ask because what is their motivation to trade him now? They are under the cap.

Rams shouldn’t lose too much sleep if Bobby Wagner signs elsewhere

Bobby Wagner’s free agency decision might be imminent, if Richard Sherman’s teasing tweet is to be believed. He’s drawn interest from the Rams, Ravens and Cowboys since the Seahawks cut him, though Dallas is reportedly out of the running now.

So it would seem to be down to the Rams and Ravens, both of which are good options for the six-time All-Pro linebacker. The Rams would love to have him in the middle of their defense, with Sean McVay and Les Snead admitting as much. But they shouldn’t lose too much sleep if he picks the Ravens (or another team).

Wagner is seeking $11 million for one year, according to Peter King. The Rams are interested, but not at that price – hardly surprising for a team that’s constantly doing cap gymnastics just to keep enough space available to fill out their roster.

Wagner is worth $11 million per year. That would put him ninth at the position in annual salary, and he’s certainly better than the ninth-best linebacker in football. But for the Rams, paying big money for a player at a position that they never put much value in would be atypical.

That’s especially true when you consider the Rams already have Ernest Jones on the roster, who was a third-round pick last year and showed plenty of promise as a rookie in 2021. They also retained Travin Howard with the $2.54 million tender, which isn’t exactly pennies; he has the 15th-highest cap hit on the team.

Again, Wagner would absolutely help this defense in a big way. But not to the point where the Rams should go way over their budget. They have bigger holes to fill right now, including cornerback and edge rusher – two positions where it’s more difficult to find immediate starters in the draft.

Fans desperately want the Rams to sign Wagner. It’s easy to see why. They’ve struggled to replace Cory Littleton and haven’t had a true playmaker at the position in years. But they already invested in Jones and have Howard on the roster, too.

They should stick to their number with Wagner and if he picks another team, they should pivot to cornerback or linebacker – just as they did when Von Miller left, turning their attention to wide receiver with Allen Robinson.

I don’t care for Bobby Wagner. He’s on the down side of his career. He’s serviceable, but not great. Just another guy. $11 Million for one year? Like McVay said along the line of: “We love to have you here. But if it is not what you’re looking for, good luck to you.”

When you are one of the best run organizations, you should take that stance. It ensures guys that sign with the team know the expectations… and that fit is important to the Rams.

The Patriots got players in line and on the dotted line all the time with this approach.

(not directed at you specifically 99... just that quote)

Is he really better than the 9th best linebacker in the league, though? I'd say he's more 'accomplished' than most linebackers in the NFL but he wasn't even the leading tackler on the Seahawks. That was Jordyn Brooks. I can think of 7 or 8 linebackers I'd rather have on the Rams than Wagner, including Micah Parsons, Devin White, Roquan Smith, etc. And they're all years younger than Wagner. I'm certainly not saying "I don't want him on the Rams" but I hope we don't overpay for the guy.

Agreed. They also signed Zadarius Smith which gives them a formidable pair of pass rushers.
Or, I suppose one could say that by signing Smith, Hunter becomes trade bait. I wouldnt think so, but the ay this year has gone? Phew
