I tell you what, guys. I think the blog is total crap, but there is an underlying theme about this that bothers me. Fights between teams at combined practices happen, but every other team on our schedule knows something about us. So we protect our own with force. That is a nice quality for a team to have, but not when it is on third down, or after a play where they didn't get any yards............and we give it to them. Do you guys remember that game against Carolina? Chris Long got thrown out, and we lost to a team that we really had a good chance of winning, but it got out of the Rams hands. If it is just practice, keep it there, Rams. Every other team is going to try an push buttons to get a head.

Well, @Juice, the Cowboys and Raiders had a preseason practice brawl last season - and then the Cowboys won 12 games. So I wouldn't panic just yet that teams will use this to get into the Rams' head. Especially since the Rams started brawling after multiple incidents which would get flagged during actual games.

The sad thing is, he apparently was a better NFL QB than a radio guy :cautious:

According to @Ramzee who was at the practice the fight started because Mason was getting knocked down repeatedly in non contact drills....I have known ramzee for quite a long time and he is not a honk that would make that up, he is pretty objective.
Yeah, I can tell you the Cowboys started this one and it wasn't the first one of the day by far. I was less than 10 yards away from where the fight started looking right at it.

It was all due to Mason. They kept banging on him and knocking/throwing him down when he was running through the holes later in the scrimmage. You know how they go after the ball to strip it or whatever and the running back keeps finishing the run. Those runs were ending up with him fighting Cowboys off the ball until he was on the ground. His helmet came off one time and you could tell the tensions were building. Then the Rams seemed to have enough. There was three or more Cowboys on Mason. Then the Rams O comes over to help him out. The linemen start throwing guys down. You can see some of that in some of the videos.

What I don't see in any of the videos that I've seen so far is what is going on down the field further in the south end zone that brings the defense over into the fray. Almost all of the videos I saw were taken from the south end facing north and most of those happened after the fact anyways. What did happen was this...

Several of the WR's were much further down the field, further than Mason had run at that point (on the run that started the fight) and Tavon Austin for example was getting jumped by three of the Cowboys DB's with no other Rams near him (at least that weren't getting jumped.) He started off with one but then another joined in and immediately after, another. That's where Gardner was too, putting in work on our skill guys. That's when the defensive players started coming over from the other field to help these guys out and they started teeing off on anybody still left in the vicinity.

"Babe"? A guy named Babe is calling out our players? Probably no chance this guy got the shit kicked out of him his entire life. His middle name is Hugh. So he is Bab(i)e Huey? Who wants to bet this wannabe has some skeletons in his closet? Gonna go out on a limb here - Douche.

Babe Laufenberg's Career Stats *From wikipedia

Career NFL statistics
TD-INT:7-17
Yards:1,691
QB Rating:49.5

His career was terrible.
Sure there are. Didn't you know?
In a brawl, you're supposed to pick someone you wanna hit, tap them on the shoulder and say, "I'm going to punch you somewhere in the facial area with my right hand, which will be balled up into a fist like so." Then the other guy's supposed to say (verbatim, or it's not clean), "Jolly good show. Let's proceed with the fisticuffs and may the better man emerge triumphant."

Hey X, any chance you can please tweet Laufenberg and ask him if his fight analysis skills are as good as his QB'ing skills? Seem to be about on par with each other.
