Honestly... until just reading this thread... I didn’t know he grabbed himself.

I was too focused on his head hitting the ground every time I saw the replay.
You're not the only one. I spoke with other Rams fans I know about it and they only remember the TD. They didn'y even notice. It all happened pretty quickly.

Fining Donald for a low hit when he clearly fell and had no choice about where he hit Carr is just senseless bullshit.

AD hit Carr in the knees. That always draws a flag but it is usually only fined if he wasn't blocked into the knees and went after them.

Does anyone have a clip of the play?

I don't know how it played out and if he made an effort not to hit him in the knees. If he didn't make the effort then the fine is fair. If he did then it isn't.

Who has the tape?

I was very surprised a flag wasn't thrown for excessive celebration. Or Maybe Peters junk isnt excessive?

anyway, I am glad the Rams have a bit of swagger to them. Beats the old boring Rams teams of the last decade or so. Pretty sure Wade Phillips will keep them under control. I sure don't want the team to become that team that everyone hates because of the swagger

Maybe they thought AD was using the Olineman's flailing body to propel himself into the QB or something (right arm)? [Edit: Sorta looks like AD dove into Carr.]

BTW, Reddit is a goldmine:
Any chance the kid in the front row witnessed something in the B-hole that was more traumatic than this?

Off topic, but, uh, maybe better to not try to explain this one to the kids:

The kids obviously didn't see it since they were on the other side of the grab. Maybe on vid replay... does the stadium have one?

Anyway I didn't even know he did "the grab" until someone in the forum called it. I was expecting him to sommersalt.

On nut-grabbing, 1st guy I saw do it to himself in an aggressive manner was Michael Jackson in his I'm Bad video back in the late 80's. Didn't think too highly of it. A few years back when Marshawn did it I was like whoa, where did that come from. I think I may be used to it now because I just laughed at Peters when I saw the replay in slo-mo. I didn't even know why he did it until I heard him say "That's Beast-Mode" later. I think those ridiculously costumed Raider fans deserve a deez-nuts yank anyway.

We know "The Catch" and "The Drive".... this event can be called "The Grab." Or maybe the "Ejaculate Interception."

You know. My Dad took me to the movie "Life of Brian" (Monty Python) when I was only 12 years old. That movie messed my head up bad. I'm still not over seeing the dicks in that movie!

.

just read the whole thread and i'm shocked anyone would be outraged by what peters pulled off.

as soon as i saw him set up for it i thought, hah, he's doing the lynch thing in his home, funny.

btw, i was not a fan of the donald hit to the knee. sure he was tripped up and trying to get to the qb. but you hit the knee with you're helmet, you pay the price. just think carson palmer against the steelers in the playoffs. ugly.

I think there is a league policy that if there is any doubt whatsoever about whether the defender could have avoided hitting the QBs knees, then he is penalized. It is part of the intentional emphasis favoring the offense in the modern game. On that tape, it's not clear whether AD could have shifted his body slightly to avoid hitting the QB impermissibly. Yes, it would have taken an effort - but that is the standard now.

It doesn't look like AD purposely went for the knees. It really doesn't matter. What does matter is he hit Carr's knees and Carr buckled forward from it. It looked scary in slow-motion. Now, if AD was pushed or shoved into Carr by another Raider, then it would matter and AD would not get flagged if called correctly. I don't think anyone blocked AD into Carr on this play. He appears to lunge or crawl towards Carr. It looks like AD could have stopped his momentum and avoided the hit to the knees.

When he busted that celebration, I erupted in laughter and simply shouted "MARCUS PETERS!!!!"
That one celebration could do more than we realise. Not saying it will spark a SB run, but it injected some swagger and confidence in to Peters and the rest of the D and that will carry over to AZ.

I can see why some people don't like the celebration, but I thought it was hilarious. It was just too perfect. Playing the Raiders at their home, the fans faces in the back drop, Lynch on the other team. Just priceless.
