Defense can't win you every game make every stop score your points. Short week, tired, when does Goff and the offense bail the defense out and how many times have they failed to do so? This season is what it is because of the defense so please spare me. The defense should have made two more stops???...forgetting Goff was shit the whole game at least make the 2nd and 5 throw to woods and extend that drive get the defense rest. That is also part of the offense's job to give the defense a breather. If you suck on offense at least do something to help out the defense this game and maybe they wouldn't have to be counted on to make every single stop to continuously bail out the offense. Should the defense have scored another touchdown to secure the win cause the offense played worse than middle a school offense???

not at all. just stop the backup qb when the rams have the lead with 4 mins left on the clock. the d brought the rams back into the game, the offense scored to take the lead. close the game against the backup qb.

Go ask Goff if he loved his own 3 rookie-like turnovers and many terrible passes.

He'd probably say, "I need to play better, bla bla bla... but I'm filthy rich you know."

and? did you go and ask wussell about his game against the rams? he's your wonderboy.

So has anyone got a solution we can all agree on as Rams fans?. What will win us games, what will it take? If McSnead are legit I sure hope they got the solution.
It's not up to us to come up with solutions. If the run the table and go 12-4 that should makes all rams fans happy.
Yeah I think Mcvay is still showing some struggles. I just can't tell how much is him and how much is the personnel.
As for Goff, I once foolishly argued that he would be better than Mahomes. I was a fan of they guy. But he's a net negative as of late. I don't think he is capable of doing much unless the environment is perfect. And I think the proof is in our record. I think we're capable of beating 70 percent of the league just based on coaching. And the other 30 is where Goff fails consistently to pick up any slack.
Mahomes is on another level but so is andy Reid. Both are the best at what they do and it shows. Mcvay/Goff are not even close to them and that's fine they dont have to be. They just have to play/coach smart football and not beat themselves goff with the turnovers and mcvay with the playcalling. They'll get better it just takes patience which I thought ram fans would have since what we all saw pre mcvay/goff.

Good Qb's should be able to make their own environment and adapt and overcome. Without fans heckling should it not be easier? I don't understand its like a dude riding a Suzuki Hayabusa on training wheels. Like how much of a crutch do we have to be?
It's truly baffling. And it also begs the question, how bad ass was Mcvay's scheme in 2018 that Goff looked like a world beater for 11 weeks?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it is a bit interesting that some of this offenses worst performances have come while playing teams that had two weeks to prepare for McVay.

The Superbowl, Miami this yr, and now this Niner's game.

Makes you wonder if McVay's tendencies are too predictable or his offense is predictable or not adaptable to beat a good defense that has that extra time to prepare?

But you make it sound like those are the only two plays the defense had to play like they are robots and feel no fatigue. The defense got them there on last 2 offensive drives please do something and maybe the defense reaches down deep in an empty tank and makes the plays. Make a throw Jesus Christ. It's befuddling that we have the gall to say that when the offense and Goff played like it did. That's pretty crappy.

Exactly.

Before this game, if you would have presented the exact scenario faced by the Rams D and asked whether they would have been able to close out the game, the overwhelming majority on this board would have said "Hell yes!"

Well, they were presented with that scenario - stop the Kittle-less, Mullen QB'ed 49ers to preserve the win. They failed. No matter how well they played prior to that, their failure in that situation negated all of it.

We lost a lot of valuable offensive coaching talent during those times. Damn shame that 2 of them are HC's of other teams.

Mcvay tendencies are definitely predictable. You see poster call plays before they even happen in the gdt all the time. you think coaches who watch film for a living dont see the same thing and more?

Don't like BS, but I will give you an A for optimism. I would be happy with a 12-4 outcome; however its a pipe dream atm. For the Rams to pull off 5 wins in a row is a long shot. I have to think realistically and right now we look like a 9-7 team.

Yea I dont see that even if I'm being realistic. Don't see them losing to sea/ari. Mcvay has there number just like shanny has mcvays. The only one I see us losing to is ne because we struggle against that defensive system.

Overall can we just not lose a game to the upcoming Jets in a few weeks?....

Sticking to the narrative that the 49ers are up our a** and we just can't play well against this team.

Let's see what happens next week.

This one stung like a MF'er! It's that (known) Rams Feeling, ever felt it before? It happened to me around mid way through the 2nd quarter. I'm amazed we were in it till the end of the 4th quarter. Blame accomplishes nothing but this team better show up collectively against AZ, otherwise we're done.

He's the guy with the stat that says Goff has 6 interceptions and 7 fumbles in his last 4 games. That's who Gregg is.
Holy shit seriously?

Snead needs to cane his ass each turnover after every game on the 50 yard line.

That’s sickening.

It was innovative and new like the first time you see a pitcher when you are at the plate......But the league is adjusting faster than McV and he better find the answer or he will go the way of many before him

The play that upset me the most out of any play (even Goffs pick 6) was Josh Reynolds jogging and not even attempting to make a play for that deep pass-I mean dude showed the passion of a 90-year old man crossing the street with a walker. I would play Van Jefferson the rest of the way and let Reynolds count down the days to free agency. He didn't even put an arm out in the direction of the football-just casually jogged right by. Him and Goff need to take the bus to Arizona

Been saying for weeks that Reynolds plays lazy sometimes.
No extra effort from him at all.

we're not talking about the offense and goff's crappy play. the defense played like it was fatigued in the 1st half, letting the rbs and wrs especially run at will, again, for the second game in a row against those fucking whiners. the only reason the whiners didn't score more points was their crappy backup qb missing throws.

they played with energy and discipline in the 2nd half. the whiner's run game went nowhere and the wrs were kept in check.

they caused a turnover then scooped up and scored. they sacked the qb and stopped them for a 3 and out. they saw the offense drive the length of the field for a td. the rams somehow had the lead.

then when it was their time to really shine, all the momentum and such, they folded like a cheap tent. don't make excuses for them. nobody is making excuses for goff. the defense has the best dlineman in the league and the best cover corner in the league. how can they let deebo samuel embarrass them again, two games in a row? let the backup qb drive twice to win the game? screw fatigue as an excuse.
