I don't know anything about actual playing, but I think it's a delay effect that Edge uses on the arpeggio - which effect is missing in this cover. Makes me really appreciate the effect.
What's the delay effect? I just listen I can't play a note.

Def Leppard has always been my favorite band

I probably have a dozen 2nd favorite bands , but the gap between those bands and Def Leppard is pretty large

this performance at the MTV music awards would be the last time Steve Clark perfomed with the band on stage

pretty sad , towards the end of the video , you see Joe Elliott put his arm arond Steve not knowing that would be the last time they performed together

The bands sound changed after that , granted , by now they were a little older and music had started to change by then as we welcomed in the 1990's

but Steve was then main writer for the band as he wrote or co-wrote 95% of thier songs

after his death , the songs changed , even the sound of the band changed

I always thought of Steve as the quite one in the band , but also probably the most important one , creative wise

the poor guy battled demons his entire life

@IowaRam so when Vivian joined Def Leppard did they just tell him to not embarrass the other members by not shredding so hard? He was amazing in Dio
