Very difficult draft to assess because we won’t really know what Ty Simpson is until Stafford’s retired. I was in the draft a Top WR camp because I wanted to maximize the talent around Stafford while we still have him. I understand the Simpson pick and realize that if he’s the QB that the Rams believe him to be this pick would be immensely valuable for the future of the franchise. I believe in McVay and Snead so I’m going to trust their judgment on this one. I believe Stafford will only play one more season and I hope he goes out with another ring at SoFi.

Really like the Ohio State TE in round 2.. He has the speed to really take advantage of matchups in 13 personnel and make some big plays. I think the 3rd round pick kicks inside and will replace either Dotson or Avila after this season as both have expiring contracts. The big WR from Miami will Learn a lot from Davante and Puka and could contribute early. The 7 th Round DT could really help with depth and develop learning from the likes of Puna Ford.

This wasn’t the draft class I expected but I think it makes more sense to me now. If the Rams found their future QB in this draft it will go down as one of the best drafts in the McVay / Snead Era.

I would call it solid, with the chance of it being outstanding if Simpson pans out to be as good as or better than Brock Purdy.
Weird. That is exactly what I was thinking. I think if Sean sticks around that has a good possibility of happening. I think McShay hit it on the head the other day, they wanted Simpson but later in the round at least. Purdy gave them years of a dirt cheap contract and allowed them to build around him. I doubt he has near the same career with out Rat Boy.

Enter 13 personnel which thrived with only one of Adams or Nacua on the field.

Hopefully, a 2nd year jump from Ferguson and the addition of Klare who is basically a big WR makes it even better.
And if we're concerned about, there will be WRs on the market. It seems like AJ Brown is headed to New England, but we could pursue Jerry Jeudy or Kayshon Boutte. Additionally, there are still some productive WRs available in free agency: Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill (injured), Jauan Jennings, and Deebo Samuel.

Psst..... ya know, we got a shit ton of TEs
I do ... and I love the three-TE-sets employed last year by McVay. Commented on it earlier today.

Look forward to more, and expanded use of three-TEs this year. In fact, McVay commented on it yesterday ... talked about a continued evolution of that formation because defenses will adjust.

The Rams used three-TEs more than any team last year but still did so only about a third-of-the time.
That may well increase in 2026 but it's not likely to exceed 50%. It should be a huge asset but I think you are kidding yourself if you think it will be the Rams' primary offensive formation.

I'm pretty "meh" about the draft because I don't really think we'll know the true results for a couple of years.

The only real weaknesses I see on the team is at LB and return specialist.

I think we are fine at WR. One of the younger guys will step up.
CB is fine, but a little more depth would be nice.

We'll see what our free agency additions look like in a couple of days.

Agreed but, as I pointed-out to Philly, the three-TE formation will probably be used less than 50% of the time.

Last year the Rams led the NFL in utilizing that formation; and did so about one-third of its offensive snaps.

It was, and should continue to be terrific. Heck, I expect other teams to copy McVay and the Rams ... as they often do. However, I do not expect the Rams to line-up with three-TEs on a majority of their snaps.

Good: picked a bunch of players who should transition into big roles in 27. .

Bad: those players probably have minimal value in the upcoming super bowl or bust season.

Ugly: no ugly. I like Simpson enough that I'm intrigued to see him with 2 years of learning at least. I'm excited tu see Klare. I think CJ Daniels will be the best receiver on the team, not named Davante or Puka.

I know, just joking.

Maybe not primary, but I could see him wanting multiple athletic TEs, vs the conventional set up of having a blocking TE and then you have one guy like Ferguson who is almost like a big WR. Well, now you have two in Klare & Ferguson, and Parkinson was effective downfield as well.

So some of these guys are like big slot WRs, but sure we will need Mumpfield to step up. Whittington has his role, but I don't look at him as a real WR who can be effective running a full route tree.

I think this Daniels kid can produce more as a rookie than Mumpfield did last year. So have to trust some if these younger guys. Or maybe they pick up a vet via trade or cap cut. I heard Keenan Allen's name floated. He wouldn't have to leave LA. He could play a limited role, take some pressure off of Adams while playing a similar role.

Maybe. I guess I'm expecting not just 13 personnel, but even more 12 personnel this year with the idea that our receivers being those TEs if Ferguson and Klare develop. Even the 2 UDFAs they signed seem to be big receivers listed as TEs.

But, maybe I'm just seeking more justification of using a 2nd rounder on Klare. Plus, I'm still intrigued by Tru Edwards for some reason. He and Brendan Pressley looked good to me last preseason.

Good:
Checked off a few boxes: use the ATL pick for a future QB1, get a swing OT, a pass catcher - Klare & Daniels, and a big ol NT.
Bad: missed on getting one of the stuff coverage ILBs, and no KR type WR? And no back up OC.
Ugly: not one trade down?? We didn't have many picks to begin with, and burned 2 of them to move up and I think still missed our target who went 2 picks earlier.

The Good - The Rams didn't pick Lemon. I know wrs are different but this guy looks like he's from another planet. I hated him as soon a i saw him in sunglasses inside the building. Then I saw his interview after getting drafted and I was like what the fuck? Nah, this guy isn't a Rams kind of player.

I get the desire for adding speed it's natural. But think about it for a second we had speed last year in Tutu. And what did we do? We went slower when Puka went out and Tutu didn't do a thing. Stop knocking the Rams for doing what McVay has shown us he wanted to do maybe?

Talk about bad? How about being negative and knocking the team because the guys that got us a Lombardi have a different opinion than you
Well not everyone thinks every player the Rams acquire is awesome. You obviously do. And that's your business.

But the Rams did nothing to improve the offense. Is the offense better than last year? I'll say no.

One thing that's obvious from this this draft is the rams arrogance. They think the offense is enough right now. They drafted a bunch of backups that won't play for 2 years.

I was hoping for another Super bowl before I'm gone but it's looking bleaker and bleaker. Maybe next year huh?

Good - Rams re-sign Harrison Mevis

Bad - the entire draft

Ugly - People trying to convince people it was a good draft.

What in the actual fuck?

You do realise they traded for cb McDuffie and signed cb Watson in free agency? The most glaring weakness of the team was fixed before the draft.

.

I would say the Rams draft is INCOMPLETE. There’s no good or bad. The ugly is that they could have traded down and possibly still get Simpson and solidify their roster with additional draft capital.

McVay was pissed during the press conference, based on his body language and demeanor, about the Simpson pick. So who knows what the real story is behind that. We may never know.

And the draft picks are not out of the woods yet since they have to make the roster after the preseason games. Remember Pooh Paul who everyone raved as a steal but got released and picked up by the Seahawks?

So right now, all we can do is cross our fingers and roll the dice that these draft picks will contribute in some way against a very tough NFC West Division, which one team will represent in the Superbowl in 2027. And hopefully that will be the LA Rams.

With only one selection in the top-60, they didn't figure to draft anything other than 2026 back-ups.

Heck, even if they drafted Lemon (my preference), Sadiq or an OT (Freeling or Proctor) all of them figured to be 2026 back-ups.

Jerry Jeudy? With all do respect, fuck no.....that dude is trash. I'm ok with all the others you mentioned.

Good - QB position strategy in place for at least the next 5 years.
Bad - CB depth and swing OT still pending.
Nothing Ugly/Just Incomplete - cap room for and a need for a WR2B. I’ll be watching post draft/pre trade deadline trade options.
